There is something about this taped show that fills me with such a visceral and real nostalgia for the beauty of a rock concert. I cant say just what it is. The energy, the crowd, the venue, the music itself. This concert, and especially this encore break, make me feel joy. That's the only word I can use. Music is the pinnacle of what humans can do and I have this deep feeling of hope for humanity when I see humans together, connecting via music. Party was an underrated album. It dared to be fun.
I love this song so much. I got the album when i was still a kid a long time ago. I play it to my daughter now and we dance around the room together. Pure Magic!! way to go Iggy!!!!
Havent seen Iggy like this before, is he really wearing stockings ?! And the vocals lack his usual street bragger power . Maybe influenced ( late in the day ) by New Romantics frippery ?
its a shame that bowie took the credit for china girl. THAT IS IGGYS SONG. don't get me wrong I love David Bowie but Iggy Pop deserved all the credit for that song because his version is even better than Bowie's and it's a song in the first place but no one knew it as far as everybody knows us David Bowie song God bless him.
Totally different versions of the same song. I like both. Heard Bowie's first and hearing Iggy's was a revelation. Do we know who actually wrote it, or was it co-written?

That's a WAY better version of "Pumping for Jill" than came out on the album (Party). What a band.
Thank you Iggy for inspiring my music

the joey goebbels boogie at the beginning is great
*Norman Bates (from the movie PSYCHO) is no match for Iggy Pop*
