in my opinion iggy's best song. and one of the best ever written. and the reason why i'll prefer the idiot over lust for life any day. turn blue is kinda close, but still not the same.

Great song but impossible to locate his best songs. So many candidates. I mean, come on, the entire album Funhouse...the Raw Power album... For his solo albums, do not neglect American Caesar and Beat em Up.

Best performance ever handsdown!! It looks like his playing in some run down old booze tavern and a bunch of winos came in to get a drink and he blew them all away.

I the Iggy Pop after the Idiot was the Zenith of his career. David Bowie was a King-Maker with his superlative influence and grasp of what would turn Iggy Pop into a shining star. Iggy had the talent, and Bowie knew how to make it shine.

Funny you should mention. I saw Iggy for the first time in 1982 with a crowd of about 100 people. They played for almost 3 hours, defying commercial failure, critics, and everything else. His intensity was off the charts, and for me, it was a life changing experience.

See Iggy so static is so unusual & spooky. Iggy with French mime look was short-lived. His greatness and individuality never fail to manifest themselves. He is One of the greatest Rock n' Roll Icons in history. Seeing Iggy Pop live is beyond a thrilling Rock 'n' Roll rollercoaster.

Iggy has got his Sinatra act down to a tee.

@@jonnyspace50 Given that Mass Production is at the end of the record and is 10X more terrifying than every other song on the idiot, I think it's reasonable to assume that's the last song he listened to while killing himself. Also Joy Division wouldn't exist if Mass Production had not been a song.

Dum Dum Boys - Iggy Pop
    Lyrics:
    What happened to Zeke?
    He's dead on Jones, man
    How about Dave?
    O.D'd on alcohol
    Oh, what's Rock doing?
Oh, he's living with his mother
    What about James?
    He's gone straight
    Well, things have been tough
    Without the Dum Dum Boys
I can't seem to speak the language
    I remember how they
Used to stare at the ground
    They looked as if they
    Put the whole world
    Looked as if they put
    The whole world down
The first time I met the Dum Dum Boys
    I was fascinated
They just stood in front of the old drug store
    I was most impressed
No one else was impressed, not at all
    And we'd sing
    Da, da, da, da, da
    Dum, dum day
Well, where are you now my Dum Dum Boys?
    Are you alive or dead?
Have you left me the last of the Dum Dum daze?
And then the sun goes down
And then the boys broke down
    People said we were negative
They said we would take but we would never give
    But we'd sing
Da, da, da, da, da, da
    Dum, dum, day
    We'd sing
Da, da, da, da, da, da
    And hope it would pay
    We'd sing
    Da, da, da, da, da
    Dum, dum, dum, dum, day
    Dum, dum day
Well now, I'm looking for the Dum Dum Boys
Hey, where are you now when I need your noise?
Now, I'm looking for the Dum Dum Boys
The walls close in and I need some noise

I think Germany is where Iggy Pop is the most popular, with Australia a close second, ditto New Zealand. Iggy was more popular overseas than in the USA. I was buying The Stooges albums before David Bowie's interaction which undisputedly exploded his career into becoming the multi-millionaire he always wanted to be.
