Ayah saya keja MAS catering start dari Airport subang tahun 76..sampai tahun 79 dia bertukar ke penang Airport dan pencen pada tahun 2008..saya berbangga membesar dgn mengenali apa itu MAS dan saya juga penah merasa bekerja dgn MAS jugak tp skrg masih lg d Airport penang tp dgn kompeni lain...sempat jua travel ke merata tempat..tp skrg semua hanya tinggal kenangan...
Saya suka zaman kegemilangan MAS masa ni. Masa kecik2 tgk MAS mcm wow sangat. Cuma zaman berubah dan MAS pun berubah mengikut zaman. Hope MAS akan gemilang kembali dan terus berjaya ke mercu antarabangsa sehingga kembali semula ke benua Amerika dan Afrika. Amen

Pada tahun 2001 saya bekeja dengan China Airline selama 5 tahun, dan pada tahun 2006 bekerja dengan Korean Air. Pencen pada 2015 dan sekarang bertugas sebagai instructor B787 dan B737NG. Time video ni MAS sedang berkembang.. kita ada pelbagai bangsa technical crew. Engineer Siam, copilot dari Australia.. ada crew dari Kenya, Serbia, Crotia, England, New Zealand... etc.

So nostalgic and glad we had you to take videos of the old birdies..the men and the machines =) I had vague memories riding on the DC-10s but it always piqued my interest why the engine is on the tail during my childhood! My late father Capt. T.H Woo flew on B737 fleet..do you happen to know him? Nice to see the veterans and the camaraderie.
i experienced only once on board a DC-10-30, during a return from a Mecca in 1995. The interior looks nearly as same as in the 747, but I think it must've been made simpler since during the Hajj season the seating configuration looks like a bit different in 747, just guessing. Anyway, love the plane too! Wonder why Dc-10 was being used in a very short time, not like other aircraft which is built earlier, and still used until now!

@Xarifa Zee flight engineers have better technical knowledge, gives very good support, are extra eyes in the cockpit and also 3 person conversations are more interesting than two.
Wow... I've always loved DC10s and MD11s since i was a small kid. It's one of the most beautiful aircraft ever made... When was your last flight sir and what is the last aircraft you flew? Whatever it is... those days flying was such a fun fun thing to do... :). Jazakallaah...
Hhi Zulkarnine.. my last flight on the DC10 was sometime in 1994. The I was promoted to Boeing 747-400. I flew that till 2001. Mid 2001 I joined China Airlines as Captain B747-400. In 2006 I joined Korean Air as Captain B747-400. I retired from flying in October 2015. Flying in those days was better as we had more time on the ground. We can see places and take in the sights.

Capt, any chance you have any footage of the old KUL-LHR flights when MAS operated the route using DC-10s?.. I went to London with my family in 1978 - very nostalgic, and was my 1st time on a plane!!..
At that time MAS was expanding rapidly. Company faced a shortage of pilots. Due to the constraints we had to employ expatriate crew. At one time we had 15 nationalities on the DC 10 alone. Macam United Nations. It was normal then.
Saya tanya sebab, i've seen BIMAN Bangladesh DC10 cockpit, ada sedeikt perbezaan daripada MAS DC10, BIMAN EGT,N2 and FF gauge are analog while MAS uses LED.
Masa itu MAS expansion dengan laju. Tak cukup orang tempatan, terpaksa ambil orang luar... juga banyak FO tempatan turun ke pesawat kecil (B737) untuk kadi Captain.

This sector was part of Madras-Penang-KL sectors. Long day for the crew.

Dennis Chong video was recorded by another pilot flying back as passenger. In airline lingo it’s called dead heading.

my only flight with dc-10 was on lgk-pen-kul route on standby with my late dad.that was in 91/93 during LIMA show.

It was a Sony handycam... I cannot recall the model. Used HD mini tapes. No image stabilizer.

If I am not mistaken, our DC10 was later leased or bought by BIMAN.
it was an option, i think, weather customer wanted strip gauges or clock. L-1011 and 747-300 pun ada gauges macam ini
