In first grade, my teacher drew a picture of the brain on the board, with the convolutions, and talked to us about these wrinkles and learning. This was not some gifted school, just an average Catholic school. Mrs. Burton was a lay teacher (not a nun), the only African American person I knew as a child, and the best teacher I've had in my life, wonderful for all subjects. I don't know about the other first graders, but these lessons lit a fire in me, and I ended up studying psychology, and working in a related field. And, at age 62, I still want to learn more about the brain, this is a great lecture and helpful visuals.
hey ,if anyone else wants to discover know your body anatomy try Laophiaa Cranial Blueprint (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my co-worker got excellent results with it.
Blah blah blah
Hey everyone, the greatest results that i've had was by following the Anatomy Blueprint Pro (just google it) without a doubt the most incredible info i've followed.

what a great video..for anatomy and physiology
The best video on the brain, especially teh cool facts, like about Phenias Gage
I just grew a brain cell lol
Omg 😂❤
You probably myelinated a few axons but neurogenesis is pretty rare in adults
This lecture cleared a lot of things out, thank you!
p.s for those who speak Spanish/learning Spanish ,a way i remembered the dura mater being the outer most layer is the word "dura", which means "hard". the bone is hard and towards the outside and therefore, dura will also be the outer most layer.
You are amazing! Thank you for helping me feel even more prepared for my comprehensive final tomorrow! I love you!
❤✍🏻❤
I just want to applaud you. I have retained more information from your explanations in the just the 3 videos I have watched this morning than I have all term from my professor whom just reads power points that have been memorized from years of monotonous teaching. Thank you soooo much!
I'm going through the same thing you had to go through. My prof. speed teaches and then treats us like idiots when we don't regurgitate exactly what he told us. Every class period he tells us we are all going to fail in college. The way this guy teaches is amazing on the other hand.
Love this for med School
+Erica Hendrix
hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to discover
female body structure anatomy
try Laophiaa Cranial Blueprint (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my co-worker got excellent success with it.
Erica Hendrix hello, can you send me the link to the other 2 videos? I can't find them in this channel. Just the current one. Thanks 🙂
Erica Hendrix can you please send the links of the rest of the Videos i am only finding this one 😫He is incredible
very useful in further understanding the brain and the part it plays in human movement. as physiotherapist, we are working hard to try and come up with solutions of conditions related to brain insults...
Thank you so much! All the things I have read from my textbook suddenly make sense now. You are such a great lecture!

Thank you for teaching and explaining it easier to understand
Love your lectures! This one is really amazing! I mean they all are. Thank you!
In this lesson, we have learned that patient H.M. can have 50 First Dates!
I was in Pharmacy school in 1991. I see so much more has been discovered. Love this lecture
thnx for rate it help
Gotta appriceate the presentation and explanation. It really is a great video if you want to learn about the overview of brain.
This is amazing! I am studying for my final exam in anatomy and physiology 1 course (totally online / with zero instruction from a teacher and this is very helpful!)
You're the best teacher man.. Thanks a lot for this helpful video, keep up the great work!
I have learned alot from this video thank you so much !
You do a wonderful job. Thank you.keep it up!

Wow!! Thank you so much for this videos! I’m studying for my GAMSAT exam and really find this helpful
the smell of a face mask reminds me of a job i had at a cotton mill. that smell brings back memories, like instantly
Thank you sir
is there any way you can up lode the power points your using so we can print them off and use them for further study guide please.
I love Health science, especially how the brain works.
Interestingly beautiful
i usually hate ads but your videos are worth it. thank you, i might even buy something!
very informative , I have retained a lot of informations .. thx >>
Thank you for a great lesson.
Very informative and very clear, thanks a lot
well enlightening lecture
hi amazing video thank you very much!
i had two questions,
in the video you say (if i understood correctly) that like smelling,
auditory is also from left side to the left side and thats not what i have learned do i wanted to be sure
and also you said that there are 2 dura matter and that the CSF is between them
so i wanted to know what is the subarachnoid space is for?
great job making the limbic system so easy to understand thank you again!
Seriously this is an amazing review ...well explained...tq
Superb video, especially loved the real-life examples
Very beautiful sweet sir Tq so much good morning hi
thank you.very helpful
Nice explanation but also display the matter what u are explaining. Thank u
CSF is in the subarachnoid space, between the arachnoid and pia mater. Great review lecture otherwise.
My daughter had a hemispherectomy to stop seizures and they removed her left side of her brain and she can tell you if a pen was on her right or left side. I don't know if I understood well or you haven't seen patients after surgery can do a lot. It's amazing. They do have a deficit on opposite side but can comprehend a lot.
thats because your daughters brain, being still young, took most of the functions from her left hemisphere and transfered it to the right hemisphere,it's called neuroplasticity
when explaining to others, i always say that the sulci are the valleys/rivers and the gyri are the hills/mountains; it's much easier to remember that way.
Is there a specific area where “adaption” and new “memories” of one’s environs takes place? Or are memories spread around? Smell is smell but being smell, is it attached to other receptors/memories and that attachment reinforces the smell? I’m not sure as it appears to be common reasoning? Very good video.
I love his voice! Makes it easier to listen.
amazing.. but one mistake, the CSF is not between the 2 layers of duramater, its in aracnoid
Below arachnoid is more suitable to say I think.
Thank you!!!
hello, great video, did you forgot about neurogenesis?
Think you so much god bless you
Thank you so much, this has been so helpful as I prepare for an exam.
very helpful video, well structured presentation. thankyou bravo
Thanks, most comprehensive I listened to so far. I'll tell u my exam results
What was it?
Omg awesome lecture. Thanks much. Can u pls. Tell me this lecture was given to which class?
When people make subtle movements with their hands/toes next to your peripheral vision how is that able to stimulate you?
Its really nice presentation. keep it up.your brain's MRI shows you are intelligent. Are you Doctors?
Nice voice of science
I just wish there were more advertisements on this video
i think your videos are awesome. please never stop making such awesome contents.
in my fields of micro im amazed how the body function,

I was studying brain waves and one of the questions described the waves using anterior and posterior, which confused me since that means front and back. If anyone could explain that would be great.
excellent
very interesting

Woah, i wish i found your channel years ago. Thank you for your effort. Ive watched a million similiar videos but its like getting information overload since the videos are so short.

Hey what is that disorder or gift called that you can recall the memory in great detail back f.e what somebody said in detail or what his clothes were or what happened on television that day etc and what you ate.... Is this a autobiographic memory?
I need some neuron repairing.
Great video!!
The concept that our two cerebrums control opposite sides of the body is very hard for me to conceptualize. The reason being I Had a Brain Hemorrhage on the right side and only have a loss of sensation on the left side and I did lose usage of my right side. Is the idea that the cerebrum communicate and controls different sides of the body not apply to stroke patients?
Hope you got well
It's not a complete, clear cut division - it's like the right hemisphere controls a more of the voluntary left part of your body and vice versa. Not *all* of the left and none of the right at all - like an asymmetric mixture
i understand needing to make money... but the ads are EXCESSIVE
Carmen Claudio... I've seen these sort of comments of & on over the past years & really, I don't know what you mean by "the ads are excessive". Well, let me back up: yes, of course I know that the sneaky YT, money-hungry uploaders, those with the goddamn "patreon" and other money-making scheme set-ups, put in these awful damn ads that RUIN the video. Also, I remember that a lot of vids & this was, like, 6-7 years ago, at least, when I'd see a video I wanted to watch on YT & then clicked it to see it, the 1st thing that came up, before the content even came up, was some godawful, POS, worthless ad, for whatever...most of these, the ones at the start of the vids, would have a little box in the corner that'd have a 5-second countdown, after which you could click that box when the words "SKIP AD" came up, so you didn't have to watch the whole thing (but you were subject to at least 5 seconds of it!) ANYWAY, the main point here is that, if you hate ads as much as I do (and that would have to be a really huge hatred!), I highly suggest you go, right now, as it's very quick, very easy, safe (re: it's not a threat to your computer) & damn reliable! It is: AD BLOCK PLUS. You just go to adblockplus.org, and from there, follow the directions &, voila, you have what, IMO, is the best ad blocker around (and it's FREE!!). If you don't want to have to remember the URL, you can just Google "Ad Blocker" or "Ad Block Plus" and you'll get a list of like things & the top one or 2 will be for Ad Block Plus itself. From there, just click that website & then take a minute or less to download & install it on your device (it works on smartphones too). FYI, since I've had Ad Block Plus I have NEVER had to sit through a single annoying ad anywhere on the web, especially all those video-ruining ads on You Tube (also, as for my Yahoo email inbox, before ABP I would get these ads that invaded the righthand side of the screen when checking my email: the whole vertical length of the rt. side of the browser (when I was in my Yahoo email inbox). They too were very irritating and although all one has to do is just ignore it, that's all well & good, but the fact remains: those pesky ads are still there and aren't going to go way. But with ABP, that is one other problem solved: I also haven't had to put up with a single "pop-up" ad or any other "banner"-type ad that invades my space!!! Plus, there's no hassle with ABP: it doesn't have problems, i.e., you don't have to continuously re-activate it, etc. and, on some occasions, as when you may be on Yahoo's front page, glancing through the various news headlines which are usually frustrating political crap and celebrity fluff, as in "who's screwing whom" (in more than one way too!! Sometimes at once!) Unfortunately, ABP cannot rid one of those sneaky "paid advertisements", you know, those little things mixed in with the other political shit & the celebrity ass-kissing junk; things like how to make money by doing nothing (except selling crap nobody wants!) or "10 Beauty Tips from celebrities, models or whomever). OK, sorry fo the long rant here, but I just can't stress enough the peace of mind and the much better You Tube as well as overall internet experience: once you get ABP installed, especially if you frequently watch stuff on You Tube and get fed up with having to deal with those awful, worthless, waste-of-time ads, you will be so happy!! And, after having ABP for a while you'll soon forget all about those pests & wastes of space: ads!!! (I swear, I'm not getting any money from the company who makes ABP, I'm just someone who's had a great experience from having it that I feel I ought to spread the news to others who I've read comments here on YT, mentioning how this or that video "...was good, except for all the ads in it"). So, that's why you ought to get it: with ABP: NO MORE ADS!! Good luck! Hope it works out for you!!
you have quite a beautiful brain
What part of the brain moves the mouth and when I have no energy why am i unable to speak or recall some words to say? It’s like I slur my words.
Can a lack of energy cause that???
You should go to a doctor immediately if you haven't already, that's a huge sign of a neurological disorder

Neurogenesis is the process by which new neurons are formed in the brain. Neurogenesis is crucial when an embryo is developing, but also continues in certain brain regions after birth and throughout our lifespan. We are learning new skill - new neurons are created .

Seems like a great channel but the About section doesn't provide alma matter of the speaker or team for the channel. Not doubting your content but could you add a section or information for that? Appreciate it if you do see this. Ty, take care
