This could have been the best Telltale game. There was so much to work with and then in the end literally none of your character choices mattered. Not a one.
Actually the late game of Telltales game of thrones varies a fair bit. More than any other telltale game to be honest. The Choice between Asher and Roderic leads to entirely different sequences.
Yeah don’t know what you idiots are on about. The choices may not be vastly different but they do matter and make many differences in the overall plot. Which is the point of the game. They never lied. It’s just that you idiots hear “branching storylines” and expect 15 different outcomes with vastly different characters, locations and more being present.
@@Brosyphus choices do matter bud. It’s just that they can’t make a game with 20 different endings... freaking triple A companies usually barely make 5... even Fallout NV has the most ending variety and that’s due to a trick with the ending slides... not genuine endings.
Character A: "You must do everything you can to appease them. Even if you have to lie..." *Appease them and lie just as you were told to do* [Character A hated that]
thats why i hate the kings landing sections lmao, all so pointless and you have no real control over your own story. Playing as Rodrik, Asher or Gared you at least can control the narrative to a certain degree
House Forester's story is pretty bad because it's coated with reverse plot armor, basically if anything bad can happen it will happen, they are never lucky and the characters around them hate them without much of a reason
I’m pretty sure that’s every telltale game post walking dead. No mater what you choose, that character hates you even if it doesn’t make sense on their part. For salt on the wounds the game panders you on your morality and choices, like it’s trying to be smarter than it actually is.
Reminds me of Breaking Bad. Whenever something good happened to Walt and Jesse it would be quickly followed up with an EPIC ‘L’ This made the show pretty predictable imo
I would kill for an open world Westeros game. Imagine something like where you’re from a small noble family in the north and your whole journey is you becoming a renowned knight
Honestly a shame we never got to see how their story ended, but i suppose we could make some guesses in general based on the outcome of the show. I think House Whitehill were part of the Bolton army at The Battle of the Bastards, and thus were annihilated alongside House Bolton. And it makes sense that House Forrester would be restored and regain their family seat when Jon became King in the North.
Makes sense, depending on your choices no matter what theres only like 1 or 2 living Whitehill family members from what I remember, perfect "annihilating" material.
Na it was hinting in season 1 that it was gonna be an alliance with The Whitehill. What romance I see as canon - Rodrik & Elaena and Asher/Gwyn. If Rodrik is dead an Asher with Gywn = Ryon & Elaena / If Asher is dead an Rodrik with Elaena = Ryon & Gwyn. If Rodrik is dead and Asher kill Ludd - Asher & Elaena / Morgryn & Gwyn= depends if Mira is dead or else Gwyn will be determinant in this ending / Talia & Torrhen whitehill. Ramsey would likely Flay Ludd for not winning the war against Rodrik = Torrhen side with the Forrester/ If Gryff alive he likely trying abused Elaena would make Torrhen killing his brother siding with the Forrester. Edit: I forgot Rodrik & Gwyn hard to describe at the moment.
Both Forresters and Whitehills are House Glover's vassals. In my opinion it's possible that Forresters stood by during Battle of Bastards, but Asher and Beshka joined Jon to revenge Rodrick and Ethan.
Taking a real house from the books and using the Red Wedding as the jumping off point were both great calls, and really drew me in. I think this game represents the Game of Thrones IP very well. And the structure, with the disparate members of the family separated, smartly gives us the chance to see all the main locales in Westeros just like the main story. And I loved that it didn't shy from being relentlessly bleak. This is my 2nd favorite Telltale game after The Walking Dead Season 1
Sry the Game was absolute trash. Yes the Idea was not bad but the execution terrible. Welcome to Game of you get ducked by Ramsey who aperently always showed up just in the right time to duck you. And thats just one of many problems the Game had. And yes most of the Games where realy bad if you took a closer look. The only Game from these that i played which i realy enjoid was Tales from the Borderlands and thats because there they worked closer with Gearbox and where able to realy make a good Game.
Asher Forrester had lowkey become one of my favourite characters during this game. It's so disappointing that the story wasn't finished, I wanted my revenge.
I think the revenge would come but maybe in completely different direction than you think, especially if Gwyn was the one who rescued you... I mean, I doubt Ludd would have any more kids and with his 2 sons being dead, while 1 being in citadel, meaning he can't have offsprings, at least legit ones... You'd be the one clapping cheeks of his only child that can produce heirs! LMAO
Yup also the Boltons tbh made a poor decision on this by leaving the Ironwood to House Whitehill who will just chop down, this extremely valuable commodity that House Forrester has in less then a few years. If we are to make an argument Ironwood must be one of the Top imports of the north considering the Boltons prizes it aswell as Tyrion, Lord Whitehill will be nervous if Ramsey pays a visit, ones they exhaust the stock they have rather then conserve it.. Also aside from the Boltons when you think about it even if the Forresters return too Ironrath after the Boltons and Whitehills are expelled from the place, the Forresters have to deal with the Whitewalkers next considering they are one of the more Northern Houses in the Region.
@@nunyabiznes33 unless House Forrester somehow pulls out a huge amount of trees out their ass. Like how the Iron Islands under Euron were able to pull a hundreds ships out of theirs by season 7 despite knowing the lore the Iron Islands are poor as hell and has a limited resources to build a fleet that large. I'd be surprised if house Forrester does the same, considering house Bolton ruled for 3 years and house Whitehill seemed to have cut down 1/3 of the forest already in a short amount of time.
@@silentecho92able I remember that House Whitehill had forests like House Forester centuries ago but squandered their valuable holdings. Now they’re just going to do the same to House Forrester.
@@aaroncohen2700 yup thats the point in less then what i can assume to be the 1st generation they wasted their share of the forest. If the Ironwood that is widely prized even in the south is simply chopped down in less then a few years. The Boltons will wish they bet on the other horse considering Whitehill production of Ironwood products are considered inferior too their Forrester rivals after all.
I loved this game and it’s story, Margery just pissed me off though, even if you remain loyal to her, nothing is good enough for her and she considers you a traitor
Yeah cause shit Storywriting in a bad Game. They ducked many Characters like Magery just to make their Story. Also if you ever thought you where on the right track the Game was like and now Deus ex Ramsey who always showed up at the right time to duck your progress and who had aperently nothing better to do.
Sansa couldn't do anything she wanted in 4 seasons in king's landing yet people expect a handmaiden to be able to get what she wants from Margaret tyrell, yeah that's not how king's landing works
One of the most stupid part of Mira's story is when talking to Tyrion in prison. Apparently she doesn't know how to whisper, which could've let Tyrion know you're still on his side while making the guard think you're betraying Tyrion.
I choose to believe the chosen House Forrester lord and his sister wait and bide their time. And that they're one of the minor Houses rallied behind Danaerys
@@theperson8539 yeah I don’t like the story decisions made In this game do much, feels like no matter what you pick you get the same outcome plus most of the outcomes are always something bad. I get that in the game of thrones no one is safe and the game tried to replicate the same sort of feeling but at least give the decisions you make worthwhile if all ends up being for nothing and just terrible stuff happening to you
@@user-og8gf8xw5h Exactly, and the scope of the game wasn’t large enough to warrant such linear outcomes. In all honesty, I would’ve been fine if they’d expanded the impact of the choices by just getting rid of the King’s Landing sequence. Also, the Asher vs Rodrik choice is so inhibiting, they could’ve made that so much wider by having to sacrifice someone important to either of them and letting that affect their respective story arcs. A thematically potent choice would’ve been to give both characters a choice between a loved one and a family member. The mother and Eleana for Rodrik, and Beshka and Talia for Asher. Letting that affect the rest of the story with a myriad of consequences.
The game quickly goes from season 4 level writing, to season 8 really quickly. The choices don't matter, the twists are illogical and cruel (making no sense whatsoever), the in show characters are exaggerations of themselves and overall it becomes a chore to get through. Where Walking Dead was different (and better) is that you don't deal with the major characters, you don't run into any of the big villians, you're just another story in that world. It means that your actions matter more and you're not fustrated with your presented lack of control.
Honestly, I'm glad there won't be a season 2 the hate boner for the Forrester's was crazy, I understand making them struggle in the situation they're in makes sense but EVERY option leading to bad consequences just got tiring.
Similar to house stark Ed got beheaded Robb leads a rebellion but was betrayed Bran gets crippled Rickon gets sniped Sansa gets married off because of her name (the only reason no one killed her btw) Arya was presumed dead So yeah after the red wedding I belive it's normal for loyal bannerman to suffer a super strong down because house Boltons rise to power and being warden of the north... I mean after you grab a crown you support the ones loyal to you and destroy the ones who oppose you (if possible) so yeah tiring and absolutely bad for you but not illogical
@@colshotlp9692 In the main series however, the reason the Starks go through so much is because of thier own choices. Also with a video game with multiple options available, all of them leading to basically the same events happening is disappointing to say the least. It leaves us with the sense that nothing we can do can save house forrester, something we can’t say about house Stark.
@@ClanToreador it was like 5 bucks per episode, but the season pass was like 20. when you think of it $20-$25 for 12 hours of gameplay isn't that terrible, but the game choices can be a bit dodgey. but $20-$25 for a company having a couple of hit and miss you can't expect much
For some reason in this game, they make Margaery and Daenerys more bitchy than in their counterparts in TV Show. No matter what Mira does, she will never please Margaery and so does Asher, she will never get Daenerys as her alliance to the North. I guess, it's like every Telltale games ever: Your Choice *DOES NOT* Matter
That’s unfortunately the Telltale format. Have a story that gives you the illusion that your choices matter. No matter what, House Forrester will fall and all your doing is choosing who will survive by the end.
It’s a damn shame telltale basically imploded so we’ll never get to see where they were exactly going with the story. Westeros is a perfect setup for a tragic family drama and the game set it up well with every slight win they have having severe consequences. It’s a fun game, but knowing there’s not even a resolution to it kinda ruins the point of playing it more than once.
We might, there’s a new studio that’s taken several licenses from Telltale, they’re making The Wolf Among Us 2. Depending on how that goes, they might get the GOT license.
@@theperson8539 true it could happen, but it feels unlikely with GoT ending already and ending poorly at that. What’s left of that hype train is just fully on with the books and house of the dragon. Just don’t see much regarding the main series these days unless it’s about how bad it ended, so idk if they’d take the monetary risk to keep it going
They actually still exist, and they're still making games. They're just using a different name now, because there was so much controversy associated with the old one.
I think the biggest "FUCK YOU" that this game gave me was probably when I chose to let Rodrick live. I felt as if his story made more sense. A man crippled and assumed dead during a bad fight. He comes home, and finds out his father and brother are dead and his family is literally in the worst spot of their lives. So he begins to become a bad ass, and start teaching himself how to fight again, even going as far as saying "I'm going to kill that man.'' So I got invested in his repair and struggle. I liked Asher too, but I kinda felt like his only two character traits were "I am a charming sarcastic guy, and I'm good at fighting", I did, however grow to like him when he got the pit fighters on his side. Rodrick felt a lot more down to earth for me, and I was FAR more invested in his story. So when I choose to let him live, the game parades Asher's head on a pike as if to say "Hey...you made the wrong choice, bud." Because if you choose to let Asher live, they bring Rodrick's body back, all respectful. It felt like a literal middle finger to my choice and I realized how this game was basically torture porn.
Used to be a telltale fan, so of course I bought and played this, since I liked the tv show too. The start was STRONG, you felt the same energy and intensity of the show, and got invested into making this house survive. With time, however, everything gets SO frustrating. Every bit of progress you make is undone quickly, the very universe wants you to stay in bad shape, you could do everything right and the result will alost (key word almost) be the same, which is TellTales curse at work I suppose. Still, unlike other works, the way this game constantly punches you in the face gives way more frustration than it is worth. The ending showed some potential, but after all that frustration, I'd not have bought a season 2 if it existed.
and people like to say that the original series is sad and bleak, so this shouldn't be surprising. Yeah, the starks have a lot of bad things happen to them but also a lot of good. They have people who actually want to protect them, people on their side. Playing this game felt like a masochists wet dream, no one likes you, everyone belittles you.
@@BigHomieJordito add to that people like Ned and Robb died due to their actions. It felt like even though they were nobel the death was understandable. House Forrester could do everything right and still would get screwed. In an another world this would have been something like Detroit become human were different actions lead to different stories entirely.
While the story is decent a lot of it makes no sense, like why would Cersei, Margaery, Tyrion or the Boltons give a shit about an extremely minor dispute between two tiny Northern houses, it'd be different if it were major houses like the Manderlys, Umbers, or Karstarks but it's just two minor noble houses disputing over like 1-2 soldiers being killed in a confrontation, that shit literally happens all the time they would never waste time over something like that. And Mira managing to be a handmaiden to Margaery Tyrell is also absurd, all her handmaidens were Tyrells or related to her and even if some weren't they for sure wouldn't choose Mira Forrester, they would choose a daughter of one of the Tyrell bannermen or something
Well, the region the two houses are fighting over is one of the few, if not the only one, that harvest ironwood, a wood as hard as iron, so it makes some sense that the Boltons would be interested in securing a strategic resource that it could be used by their enemies, as for Margaery and Cersei it could be seen as a simple power struggle between the two in that clash they have. As for Tyrion... I can't think of much else except wanting to annoy his sister a bit.
@@ivantorres641 I guess that’s true I’m just more confused on why they would give a shit in King’s Landing, like Cersei absolutely wouldn’t care at all
@CosmicshambleIt really wasn't. Having the person you didn't choose to be Sentinel be the traitor is so cheap and predictable. I had a play through when I chose one of them but then listen to the other one EVERY TIME, to see what happens. He still betrays you. It's ridiculous. The game makes you feel like you can actually influence the events, but play it a second time and it's clear you're basically watching a show.
@@pbh9195 Neither Duncan or Royland make any sense. Duncan was a close friend to lord Forrester he was the one who took him from a shit pig farm and made him castellan and Royland is a fucking veteran he proved himself at the siege of Pyke..
@@Tommy-sr7hl Also they turn traitor to Rodrik because a now dead Ethan chose someone else? Come to think of it, shouldn't Rodrik choose a new sentinel? The maester said that the new lord has to pick a new one...
It’s sad that the telltale writers didn’t seem interested in capturing the true feel of The series. While the game has fun moments, no matter what you did people were angry with you. Even if you played to their side or kept their secret they still hated you. And as cool as it is to see series characters in the game, ultimately it’s frustrating. We know we can’t stab Ramsey cause he’s alive in the show so it’s a useless option. But that’s how most telltale options are. It feels like TT watched a few episodes and all they took away was “main characters die? Absolutely we can do that” but didn’t bother taking in why the book/show does that and how it works. Imagine if right after Ned died, like an episode later, Robb gets killed. And then Sansa and Arya. I understand the game doesn’t have the timeframe to work as the show did but they should have realised that story structure wasn’t good for their time limit.
@@lucasbrant9856 exactly. It is a lot more interesting because rodrick is already a lord, first born and all, well tempered and experienced. Asher was the outcast, impulsive and needs to learn how to lead his family and control his grief over his brothers death. Also letting asher die means his entire plotline was pointless. The mercinaries he brought didnt change anything.
I genuinely think this was a video youtube NEEDED. I also dropped this game partway through and never picked it back up again so I was always curious what happened in the story. It's a shame they never got to finish it but I liked your decisions in game and thought your way of telling the story was well done!
Its a shame to see that telltale shut down I really wanted to see how House Forrester would've risen back to power and how Gared would've helped the house too.
I never played the telltale games... mostly because it became fairly obvious immediately that your choices didn't actually matter, which was supposedly the whole point. It's one of the big reasons the studio crashed and burned so bad. I watched it online hoping I was wrong: If I recall Mira dies or gets married to someone evil at the end of her story, and I remember thinking that there was no way she would survive the first episode of the next season specifically so the two plots could meet up and they could use the same recorded dialog, which is what happened in walking dead.
I was thinking something similar. Telltale doesn't like keeping determinant characters alive if they're going to be in future seasons. Just look at Jane and Kenny.
@Dusty Muffin Cop Or Conrad. You can keep him alive in Season 3, but he does NOTHING relevant and is just someone to babysit to say "he's alive at the end of your game"
@@machine1685 Exactly. It's sort of like Nick in season 2. They both stopped having any kind of relevance. The only difference is that Nick gets killed off and Conrad can live the entire season. They could've found him something to do, but the writers are either too lazy or weren't allowed to for some reason. At least they gave Carley and Doug some respect in season 1 despite being determinant characters.
I always hated this games fake storybranching. Don't give me the illusion of choice if you're just gonna loop back to the inevitable singular plot point you've decided all paths lead to. So many infuriating things were forced onto the player completely contrary to the choices made because Telltale, as always, didn't actually program it so your choices made any difference.
On most Games it was not that obvious or not that bad. On GOT it was way to obvious and mostly had the Name Ramsey who aperently had nothing better to do to show zp at the right time just to duck you.
There are lot a holes in the story, things happening for the sake of drama, mainly, how the hell enemies keep getting in the fortified castle with garrison on watch?
It wouldn’t make sense, mainly for HBO. GOT ended as a dumpster fire, they’re more interested in house of the dragon and adding on to the already ruined and hated show doesn’t make much sense. Like, we already know 100% that the North Grove, for example is complete BS - Long Night ended in one episode. Boltons along with most of their bannermen (probably along with whitehills) are destroyed. And just telling a story about how this house of Forresters will rise again just to face what happened in season 7-8 along with other northern houses doesn’t make sense.
Imagine a Dunk and Egg based RPG open world game. Plot is you going from a hedge knight to a kings guard lord commander. Lots of quests and side quests. An interesting dynamic with Egg (GOW 2018-type thing). And then as a total baddas ending, we find out what happened at Summerhall, where Egg and Dunk both die in a tragic, but bittersweet finale. What a game that could be!
The game had some great scenes and dilemmas, I'll give them that. But yet again, most games of Game of Thrones kinda miss the mark when GRRM isn't the one behind the writing. The big appeal of Game of Thrones is the way fantasy tropes are subverted realistically. Ned Stark would be a fine protagonist trying to fix the kingdom, but his disdain for politics and intrigue got him killed. Robb Stark would be a fine protagonist trying to avenge his father and save his sisters, and won every single battle he fought, but lost in the political arena when he lost the Karstarks and broke the deal he made with Walder Frey, and Tywin Lannister, the man who crushed them all got killed ignobly after mistreating Tyrion one time too many. And yet, there is a flipside to all the bleakness. Because of the Stark's honor and fairness in dealing with their people, there are multiple conspiracies plotting to return the Starks to power and overthrow the treacherous Boltons. That is loyalty that Tywin can only dream of. Because of the hideous act of breaking Guest Right, every single Frey has a target on their back, and they have lost all goodwill (as little as it was) with every lord in the Riverlands and the North. As Tyrion once said, "You may find it difficult to rule over millions who want you dead." And Lord Tywin's legacy just kept burning itself to the ground the moment he died. The smallfolk hate the sight of Lannisters, the Tyrells are scheming to supplant the Lannisters the same way the Lannisters supplanted the Baratheons, and Cersei put the High Sparrow in power, putting her in a cell that she thoroughly deserves. That's the beauty of GRRM's writing, the world of Game of Thrones is cruel, but it's fair. (Barring being a Riverland's peasant) With the Telltale game, they put in the bleakness, but not much of the beauty. Telltale games are all railroads. The biggest offender was the first Lost Legion encounter. They come in, steal your treasure, and threaten to kill you. So you fight them off, and then you get your first choice: do you break his neck or break his leg? The guy says that if you kill him, they'll send the whole Legion after you, but I knew that was bullshit. They'll send the whole Legion after you anyway. So I broke his neck. And so on and so on. The second egregious choice is setting up the second "Red Wedding". Those plots never work out. The mother will die no matter what, so it's better to face them in battle and leave with your honor intact. And what were they thinking giving Myra a choice whether she lives or dies? When you die, that's it. Nothing you fought for matters anymore. Better to cling to life through teeth and nail.
Just because GRRM is involved does not mean its good cause of this. Why you think Winds of Winter does not come out ? Here is my simple theory. Martin was actual fine with the Show ending and was also going for this well maybe not 100% but mostly. And since Fans hated it with a pasion he panicked and had to scrap most of what he had in mind. And now he lost all his confidence and is not able to keep going.
@@susakuzero So why would GRRM completely ignore all his build up about the prophecy of Azor Ahai to have Arya kill the Night King? That's just bad story writing about the biggest plot line in his books, so the only logical conlcusion is that he didn't have this ending for the Night King. Why would Martin reverse the character of Jaime? Another nonsense story point. Also add all the story lines Martin has in the book(Blackfyres, Euron, Lady Stoneheart) and you can see how that is not his ending. What Martin did was tell D&D some major plot points, but obviously they didn't follow a lot of them and did their own thing.
The Irony of having the player choose to allow the more diplomatic character live, and in so doing, end the chance of ending the house fued between the Forresters and Whitehill.
Man lost media can be so cool. Lost Media is something that is either impossible or unreasonably dofficult to aquire by standard means. Usually meaning Piracy is the only means for some Media
I loved this game so much, until I got to the end and saw that NOTHING I did mattered. The bias against the protagonist Forresters was absurd. I'm content with them having maybe been elevated again after Whitehill and Bolton bit the dust together. No need for a second season of this.
I loved this game and was so pissed you can’t even download it on mobile anymore. I call this the game where just about every choice sucked and people would inexplicably act like assholes (lookin’ at you, Margaery) but I still loved it. So sad we didn’t get a second season

If you look at season 1 of GOT and check the position of STARKS. It was very tragic. Ned is Killed, Sasa is like a prisoner in kings landing. Arya got seperated from family. Bran became a Cripple. And Jon is in Nights Watch, Robb stark is Like Asher / Rodrick on a path of vengence. If GOT had stopped with 1 season it would have been tha baddest ending . So I think this game was excellent Begining. If there was a season 2 we would have seen the Rise of The house Forester. ❤
You are very easily impressed. It's the opposite of brilliance. It was only tolerable because featured some of the GoT actors. That's it. It's way too bleak and no way to get even a decent ending. No matter what you do, it's a horrible end.

Pretty wild to think I’m lucky to have this game in my library. I’ve done every ending and honestly I love this game. All of telltales games are fantastic and this is no different. It fits nicely into asoiaf and all the endings feel perfect for the universe it’s set it
Mr. Sullivan was always one of my favorite wrestlers. I am floored from the news of his passing. WCW s best stories, he was in charge of , but I will always remember him as the dark master in Florida. Rest in peace Task master.
Oh this game... It was such a miseryfest but I did love it, especially being a huge fan of GoT at the time. Things working out just wouldn't be very GoT, especially with the Forresters who are obviously too good people to backstab and plot... They stood no chance from the start lolol I'm still so fond of this game though
Honestly I remember having watched the first season via DVD as a kid and after that finding out about the telltale game and playing it. It was so dope to me and I guess I never realized how little the choices mattered due to how much I was enjoying the ride
Idk why but I kinda expected it to not have a follow up. That's why I did a lot of edgy choices, like killing Ludd by poison instead of seeking peace through marriage, ripping the heart out of Gared's friend, etc. I can't remember for certain, but maybe I had Tom take Myra's place on the chopping block; not sure about this last one though, it's been many years.
Why is Margery such a jerk in this game? Much of character in the show and books is about her keeping up a persona of being kind and charming, while being subtly cunning and ambitious, but here, she’s just kind of a annoying and easily angered jerk. It would have been better if Margery somehow used Mira to benefit House Tyrell, like maybe if she donates funds, she wants House Forrester to acts as spy’s and informants in the North, and (in the future) possibly even have them plot to kill Stannis.
I finished it just now and man I just feel sad and defeated. I tried being a pacifist with Rodrick and it didn't work. Then I tried doing all our war with Asher and that didn't work. But the end had me hopeful because as we know from S8, a stark sits on the throne. So maybe Asher can come back and claim his birthright, and Mira's husband won't be able to take her family's right. I need to go to sleep, this hurts.
I’m not a big gamer, but this was the first game I’ve ever bought and played through. Even scoped out a second physical disk to finish the part of the game that didn’t come on x box lol
Your typical Telltale game. You get to make many decisions, none matter. The consequences are all the same. It's just the illusion of a roleplaying game.
They probably won’t get any action or mention as they were never mentioned beyond a throwaway line about the glovers proving a few Forrester men once. Beyond that there is a family that’s bannermen to the Glovers named the Forresters, there’s literally nothing else known about them in the books as George didn’t really create them. They’re really only in the game and that isn’t canon to the books or show, so I doubt they’ll suddenly just appear in any form going forward.
@@brendan9868 True we can only speculate at this point the around the time Jon retakes the North after the battle of the bastards, they could have been restored to power. But the only question is considering they were in the way of the Whitewalkers. The Forresters are only mentioned once as men serving under the Stannis-Aligned Glovers. My headcanon is that Asher and whatever little was left of Ironrath joined them and Asher is just waiting for revenge against the Boltons and Whitehills after Stannis wins Which considering how things usually go with Stannis I dont think Asher will get

This one of the most interesting Telltale game I've ever played. Shame it never got a second season. I'm sort of glad it never got a second season because I feel like they'd kill off Mira and Asher/Rodrick almost straight away because they can die in the first season which I never do. I'm saying this because of what they did with Jane/Kenny in season 3. I just hate how hopeless it feels sometimes. No what you do, any victories you get are quickly overshadowed by bullcrap. The best that happens is mantaining a good relationship with Sera and that's only if you give a damn about her. Still love the game though.
This could have been the best Telltale game. There was so much to work with and then in the end literally none of your character choices mattered. Not a one.
Welcome to Telltale games. They tell you a great story but lie and say that your choices mattered.
It was incredibly depressing to play.
Character A: "You must do everything you can to appease them. Even if you have to lie..."
*Appease them and lie just as you were told to do*
[Character A hated that]
thats why i hate the kings landing sections lmao, all so pointless and you have no real control over your own story. Playing as Rodrik, Asher or Gared you at least can control the narrative to a certain degree

House Forester's story is pretty bad because it's coated with reverse plot armor, basically if anything bad can happen it will happen, they are never lucky and the characters around them hate them without much of a reason
That's literally every house in westeros
@@thezerowulf2046 It's not tho? If they do something stupid usually something bad happens but the reverse plot armor on the Foresters is comical
Whenever something good happened to Walt and Jesse it would be quickly followed up with an EPIC ‘L’
This made the show pretty predictable imo
There are literally no right choices in this game it feels like. Every decision backfires horribly
I would kill for an open world Westeros game. Imagine something like where you’re from a small noble family in the north and your whole journey is you becoming a renowned knight
Get Monolith Entertainment to develop it, Middle Earth style!
Even better if you could choose which region you came from and maybe even give your house a name and sigil.
That game would take all my money :)
The Game of Thrones RPG by Cyanide Studios is the closest to that.
What you are after is mount and blade banner lord : Game of thrones Mod, its litterally the game your explaining:)
I mean AGOT CK3 is that but just via a strategy game
Honestly a shame we never got to see how their story ended, but i suppose we could make some guesses in general based on the outcome of the show. I think House Whitehill were part of the Bolton army at The Battle of the Bastards, and thus were annihilated alongside House Bolton. And it makes sense that House Forrester would be restored and regain their family seat when Jon became King in the North.
Makes sense, depending on your choices no matter what theres only like 1 or 2 living Whitehill family members from what I remember, perfect "annihilating" material.
>Honestly a shame we never got to see how their story ended
Same thing can be said for the main series lol
@@justin219 Interesting take!
Maybe you should've been writing this.
I wish it started with marching with Robb and capturing Jaime in the distance.
They opened strong for sure I wish that telltale wouldn't have fallen like it did
Play Batman season 2 if you haven't, the last episode changes completely based on some choices.
LMAO
@@tomassadil324 nah almost close but there was 3.. the one at the citadel aliv and tohren serving Roose Bolton. He'd still be alive for that time
Holy shit thats tragic. Theres no winning for the Forresters. For every W there's 3 Ls
@@silentecho92able Ironrath is gonna be like Pyke after all the trees got chopped off.
Its accurate tho
@@Cosmicshambler No it's not.

I dunno, it has its flaws, it’s a bit more bleak than ASOIAF fundamentally is.
Similar to house stark
Ed got beheaded Robb leads a rebellion but was betrayed
Bran gets crippled
Rickon gets sniped
Sansa gets married off because of her name (the only reason no one killed her btw)
Arya was presumed dead
So yeah after the red wedding I belive it's normal for loyal bannerman to suffer a super strong down because house Boltons rise to power and being warden of the north... I mean after you grab a crown you support the ones loyal to you and destroy the ones who oppose you (if possible) so yeah tiring and absolutely bad for you but not illogical
@@colshotlp9692 In the main series however, the reason the Starks go through so much is because of thier own choices. Talia's song still makes me sad, because it reminds me of the tragic cancellation of the whole game series, after the fall of Tell Tale Games😢
For some reason in this game, they make Margaery and Daenerys more bitchy than in their counterparts in TV Show. That’s unfortunately the Telltale format. Have a story that gives you the illusion that your choices matter. No matter what, House Forrester will fall and all your doing is choosing who will survive by the end.
It made them go bankrupt
@@brendan9868 I mean, they have to change the model for sure, since the issue was that most of the games before weren’t turning a profit.
They were going nowhere.
I love how armor is useless in this game
Lmao, it's like that in the entire GOT series for some reason.

See I never left Roderick to die, I always left Asher
I always felt Asher was more capable and would be able to put up a better fight

I always liked this game because it highlights the aftermath and just how many people depended on the Starks power.
I LOVED this game and to this day I’m still mad we never got a season 2.

I'm gonna save the house in CK 3 AGOT XD
There are lot a holes in the story, things happening for the sake of drama, mainly, how the hell enemies keep getting in the fortified castle with garrison on watch?
This is literally just like the show where everything is perfect except the ending
If Wolf among us 2 does well they might do season 2 of game of thrones
I think they lost the IP and that’s why they haven’t been able to sell the game since 2019
It wouldn’t make sense, mainly for HBO.
(Barring being a Riverland's peasant)
With the Telltale game, they put in the bleakness, but not much of the beauty.
@@susakuzero
I hate to say it, but you may actually be right.
The ending narration really hits the main theme of perspective in ASOIAF.
i was devastated when i found out they werent continuing this story. i was seriously invested after playing this.
Once you work out the scripted deaths. You can play as crazy as you want. Kissing every girls and fighting all the bullies.

One of the best telltale games, people didn't appreciate a brilliant story
You are very easily impressed. It's the opposite of brilliance. It was only tolerable because featured some of the GoT actors. That's it. It's way too bleak and no way to get even a decent ending. No matter what you do, it's a horrible end.
@@PhoenixDawnX77 and u assume a lot of bs, it's a great game
@@sirjordancarter assume? I actplayed it as a GoT fan. You'd like ANYTHING you played, lol. Ending: very little variation between doomed and pretty doomed. Your decisions don't matter. But love it then, Simple Jack.
I won't say the game Is great, I liked how their story was tragic cause for once your characters didn't have plot armor, but what I despised is no matter what you do the outcome will always be the same, out of all the telltale games this is one of my favorites but that's cause telltale apart from twd series(even then i'd only consider the first 2 really great) and the wolf among us majority of their game i'd say was average
if your options did fully matter in the game this game would've been next level but it sadly isn't
I did.
*I bought this game YEARS ago* and I got to Episode 5.. and it told me to buy and download the last episode to see how it ends.. and I think I was so pissed off I didn’t do it.
The rise and fall of telltale games is enough to give you
Motion sickness
“If you like what happed to the Starks you’ll love the foresters”
I so wanted this story to continue, really did not understand the hate this one got. It was really great
If it was great it would not be one of the last Games Telltale made before they went out of Buisness.
@@susakuzero God, you really hated this game. Pretty much every comment here has a reply of yours saying "I hate it and Ramsey made me mad."
I for one found it better than the TV series.
Man, I wish we can get a sequel. I want to see what's next for Ser Roderick the Unbroken
IRON FROM ICE⚔❄
Pretty wild to think I’m lucky to have this game in my library. I’ve done every ending and honestly I love this game. All of telltales games are fantastic and this is no different. It fits nicely into asoiaf and all the endings feel perfect for the universe it’s set it
Mr. Sullivan was always one of my favorite wrestlers. I am floored from the news of his passing. WCW s best stories, he was in charge of , but I will always remember him as the dark master in Florida. Rest in peace Task master.
Boy, Asher and friends sure move at that Season 7/8 travel speed, don't they?
Oh this game... It was such a miseryfest but I did love it, especially being a huge fan of GoT at the time. Things working out just wouldn't be very GoT, especially with the Forresters who are obviously too good people to backstab and plot... They stood no chance from the start lolol I'm still so fond of this game though
I'd give anything for this game to come back
IRON FROM ICE⚔❄
Honestly I remember having watched the first season via DVD as a kid and after that finding out about the telltale game and playing it. It was so dope to me and I guess I never realized how little the choices mattered due to how much I was enjoying the ride
Idk why but I kinda expected it to not have a follow up. That's why I did a lot of edgy choices, like killing Ludd by poison instead of seeking peace through marriage, ripping the heart out of Gared's friend, etc. I can't remember for certain, but maybe I had Tom take Myra's place on the chopping block; not sure about this last one though, it's been many years.
I remember feeling so fucking unsatisfied with this game at the end. Classic telltale
Mira Forrester was such a great character man
Another goated video, my guy. Keep up the great work
They are basically House Stark from Wish
Better starks than the starks
All of the Forrester sons are more likable than the Stark sons imo
Why is Margery such a jerk in this game? Much of character in the show and books is about her keeping up a persona of being kind and charming, while being subtly cunning and ambitious, but here, she’s just kind of a annoying and easily angered jerk.
It would have been better if Margery somehow used Mira to benefit House Tyrell, like maybe if she donates funds, she wants House Forrester to acts as spy’s and informants in the North, and (in the future) possibly even have them plot to kill Stannis.
this is such a entertainment history omg
This is a great story. thanks for sharing, M8
The flayed man of Bolton will always be a sick tattoo
As my Father use to Say:
@@justin219A Nake Man holds a few Secrets but a Flay Man Flay mans hold none
their story feels even more tragic that the starks
I’ve enjoyed playing this game very much
I finished it just now and man I just feel sad and defeated.
I want a season 2😢
I’m not a big gamer, but this was the first game I’ve ever bought and played through. Even scoped out a second physical disk to finish the part of the game that didn’t come on x box lol
The tragic fate is that we’ll
Never know the ending
this story is so great, that they could have done a separate TV series on it.
10 years later and i still think its in development
This game was/IS super underrated. Absolutely love it.
Your typical Telltale game. You get to make many decisions, none matter. The consequences are all the same. It's just the illusion of a roleplaying game.
We desperately needed a Season 2 for that game.
I am actually disappointed that there was never a continuation to the game since telltale shut down
They got rebought so there's a chance they might make season 2
@@A_Random_Prussian true but I highly doubt they’ll make a season two
I rarely hear people talking about this game and is such a shame. The writing was worthy of a GoT game. Too bad they never finished it.
This game can be described as: The illusion of choice.
ngl, Jon's comments make him look like is more mentally challenged than Hodor
Only ever played this game when Sony made it all free for PSN subscribers. Easy to platinum so not actually many different paths to take.
I hope house forrester gets more action in the book
As they were one of the more northern houses in the north, did they get wipe-out or just like the Starke's, on the brink of extinction.
@@silentecho92able they'll be wiped out just like the dothraki. Then return in full force 2 episodes later
@@almalone3282 Seasons 1-4:"Were lucky to have this many men!!"
Seasons 5-8: *Army Clone Process Finishing*
The Forresters are only mentioned once as men serving under the Stannis-Aligned Glovers. My headcanon is that Asher and whatever little was left of Ironrath joined them and Asher is just waiting for revenge against the Boltons and Whitehills after Stannis wins
Which considering how things usually go with Stannis I dont think Asher will get
HUGE bummer that this game didn’t continue…it STILL could, and it has its fans. I don’t know why they don’t go back to it.
Well mostly Telltale no longer exists cause this Game was realy realy bad and one of the last Games they where able to make before they went down.
They went under. There was a good bit of drama around how they were spending their money.
@@susakuzero I enjoyed the game.
@@susakuzeroelltale still exist they just don't have the rights to GoT anymore as when they went bankrupt they lost all their assets, this game also came out 4 years before they went under, GoT was closer to the walking dead season 1 than it was to when telltale shut down
@@Wandervennthey're back now
Couldn't play more than 20 mins of it, but i did enjoy watching gavin and michael from RoosterTeeths "Lets play" of it. Was kinda like watching episodes of GOT
A wonderful video, truly a great game! I'm upset that their isn't going to be a season 2 smh
😢
I liked this so much but too bad we will never get a follow up
This one of the most interesting Telltale game I've ever played.
