I am watching this video weeks after you posted it, but I'm here to tell you it was so much easier for me to read good omens after watching the show. I think they're similar enough where you feel the same story was told, but different enough for both to stand on their own. I'd recommend you read Anansi Boys too as it is my favorite Gaiman :)
The gentleman in Moscow is so good! It’s a great character study and so brilliant! Also I have like 630 on my TBR so you are good! Good luck with your goal!
listen, I have over 700 book, and ive only read about 20% of them, so you can do that math lol Don't think of it as too many, think of it as your own personal librayr (thats what I tell myself lololol) I loveeeee A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers and the whole series. It is so wholesome and you care about those characters so much. Also, V. E. Schwab is like my fav, so I personally really like the Shades of Magic series, its so pirate-y and fun. I also really liked the audiobooks too, and she just put out a new one that continues the story!
you’re so right it is my own personal library :D i’m so excited to read becky chambers! and I might audio book the rest of the shades of magic series too 🤭
I hope you’re able to get to Dune Messiah soon, I just finished it and I was a mess while reading it. Imo it ended off better than the original but it’s was also a bit more grim.
@@haleykalona It's good so far, but I haven't read Vonnegut in a year which makes it a bit awkward to get back into his unique writing style. My favorite Vonnegut is definitely Slaughterhouse Five, that's probably the generic answer, but it's just so good!
@@AnUncreativePersonyeah, there are definitely certain authors for me that can be harder to immerse myself in in the beginning bc of the unique writing style! it is his most popular book for a reason!:D
@@haleykalona I shop thrift stores and library sales. I'm also 53, and have books for over half my life. Took a break to raise kids (didn't read as much then) and have been getting a bunch every month since.
@@michelleschafer8882love thrifting and library sales!! i’m a firm believer you can never have too many books, and your kids will have an amazing library!
@@haleykalona they do! They're all teens and adults now. My one daughter would give me a list of books ( or take my camers in HPB to take pics of covers) of books she wanted. She literally teared up at a HPB gift card!
7 1/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is one of my favorite books! It is so eerie and original!❤
