- Today I am making crispy battered fish without using beer. This recipe makes a light, crispy fish batter that stays crispy. When it comes to fish, this fry batter the best result for extra light and ultra crispy coating that stays crispy well beyond the time it takes to serve and eat!

How are you 15 but your channel is 14 years olf
Will the coating attach to the fish with this method ? Notice when I do it, all the coating falls apart in the pan just before frying the fish. 😥
I've looked and tried so many different batters. But I must say this one was the best. Thanks a million friend.
Thank you for this recipe!!! Just tried this tonight for Spanish Mackerel! I added a little extra flour for the batter to coat nicely. I was pleasantly surprised at how the batter remained crispy after frying! 🥹 this is definitely going to be my go to for batter recipes!!! ❤️
I tried this the day before and yesterday. My kids and I loved it. Perfect batter. Thank you so much!
You have gorgeous eyes 😮
My husband and I have tried so many batters and not really liking the outcomes. I found this one and decided to give it a shot. For us, we decided to add a little bit more flour but apart from that it was the best batter we have come across. Thanks 🙂
Yay! Glad you liked it
@@tastefullyshay No, Thank you. I no longer look for any batter recipes.
a good substitute for beer is soda water for that light and crispy batter
Just discovered this channel. How did i not find it sooner! Absolutely amazing and a thumbs up from a fellow cook! 👍🏼
Thank you this batter turned out great I wasn't too thrilled on putting beer in batter for my family I appreciate it😊

Thank you so much, we tried it. Was a success, super tasty. Love it
It actually works thank you so much , I been trying to do batter fish for so long and I been using the wrong the flour, I been using plain flour I thought it didn't matter, and it never rise, ohh my god the batter rise beautiful and fluffy, I add a little of rice flour to make it more crispy. I definitely gonna make some for son when he home for Christmas, many, thanks again for the recipe. your a saint.😁😉😊.

Thank you for your Recipe

👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
What kind of oil did you use was it canola oil vegetable oil?
Where do u buy your fish from? I bought it from Morrison but they had very small pieces of fish
I prefer the wet batter over the dry batter, thanks for sharing👍
On your website you say you can make with breadcrumbs too. Do we add breadcrumbs to this same recipe and how much?
Excellent recipe ......delicious taste and appetezing 🤪❤
How much oil to use? I just for that and batter sticked to the pan, came off the fish completely.
Can Plain flour be used instead of self-raising
This batter if fabulous! Had it on catfish and on chicken nuggets. Soooo good! I added about 1/4 C more flour. Water could be at 1 C. Thank you!!😊
What kind of oil are you using?
I tried out this batter for my fish and gave my girlfriend a try and I really suprised her! 💯
Legit👌thank you for sharing your yummy recipe💕

Going to give this a try tomorrow.
Yay, hope it goes well

Can I use pollock with this recipe?

Worked amazing! Caught and cooked a bass using this recipe and it was delicious
Wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing this feedback!
It worked!
Thank you, looks really good I am going to try this nice 😊 😋🍽️ haven’t had fish a while and can’t afford chippy fish as too expensive and greasy, this just doesn’t look greasy 💓
I was looking for batter recipe that was similar to beer batter without the beer or baking powder because I didn't have any and this worked well. I used bay seasoning instead and Alaskan Pollock. Thank you
Hope you enjoy!
I'm using Pollock as well. How did yours turn out?
What fish do you use? Kakap? Patin? Salmon?
Excellent!
Thank you!
I tried this recipe, but 1.5 cups of water is too much. It comes out watery. I think next time I'll use 3/4 cup water.
Now we can finally trust the kids when we teach them how to make catfish fillets and french fries.
That's great
I will have to try this. I love the taste of beer battered fish in a restaurant. But I would never buy beer myself.
What fish is used in this recipe?
Right preparation superb crispy
Thank you so much :)
Very easy this recip
Instead of water you can use ginger ale or club soda Thank you for sharing!
Hi warm cold water?
Yes 😊 Luke Warm
Is it meant to be a specific type of oil pls?
Neutral oils is best. Canola etc.
@@tastefullyshay Thanks for the recipe, I made this in school and turned out amazing!
What kind of fish are you using
This is Snapper :)
What us self raisng flour?
Flour that has baking powder in it. If you don't have self raising flour just add a tea spoon of baking powder to every cup of flour.
Without beer? Thats like Easter without the Eggs!
Your text says if using normal flour use Baking powder 1:2 ratio. Are you sure?
Does it have to be self rising flour?
Nope :)
nice, right to the point, no unnecessary talking - thank you
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What kind of fish is this
Tried this yesterday, specular considering the super easy recipe.
Sad: powdered garlic,( and how big is a cup?)
Skip it :)
A cup is 8 ounces.
I thought I just seen an eye lash in the mixing bowl
Which fish would you recommend for best results anyone?? 😊
Nice.
Thanks you
Start by the water, no dry corner
How without self raising flour? I know its strange but a question is only stupid if you know the answer right? lol I cannot buy self raising flour where I have moved, they do not even know what it is here. In my defense it is all ive ever used and so without it im a little lost
add 2 tsp of baking powder - that is the only difference - self rising flour has baking powder in it already :)
@@UnkleAL1962 Thanks, I just want to make it like proper English fish and chips in an attempt to educate the German people on what fish and chips should really taste and look like. Ill practice a few times first making it for myself lol
Frying time? Asking because I often overcook things and they trun out dry.
7 minutes both sides should be good

@@martymar2113 if you over cook your seafood just say that😂😂😂😂
Thank you, I hate beer and don't want it in my food.
I used this recipe but it didn't create a shell, should I let the batter rest in the fridge to thicken up?
Or maybe not enough oil
Yeah, I think you are right there. I would ensure the fish isn't touching the bottom of the pan while cooking.
Gonna do it with chicken
Yea… found an easy batter recipe - may still add other spices, etc.
Not unless you're looking to go to jail.
Use na beer tiped corn mix use Jeff pan cake min red pepper black pepper cayenne pepper white pepper chili powder old Bay na a beer bush one can two mix well
It doesn't say how long to fry the fish for?
Just until it's done 😅😅😅😅😅!!!!!!!
Hush puppies fried bananas
what if we add nonalcoholic beer
Soda water works
Not sure why you wouldn't use beer?
The alcohol evaporates completely when cooked in case you were worried.
Is it a religious thing?
It is the bubbles, NOT 5he alcohol that cause the batter to be tender. They prevent the wheat flour from forming glutin strands. So, ANYTHING with a bit of carbonation can be used
So, if I have a soda stream, I can just make 1.5 c of soda water instead of the plain water? I may try that
It's called seasoning your food. Or else it tastes like paste. What's up with people putting vinegar on french fries. I was in london a year ago at a famous place had fish and chips sans the vinegar it was the best meal I had there
I would substitute the water for carbonated water instead…
I wish you would have cut the battered fish to show us the flakiness. Good though
learn the words....
Just a music video 🤣
I DON'T HAVE ANY FUCKING EGGS
Lay one you rude CARNT of a thing.

Why is no one saying how long today I yet
I mean. How long to fry it
Until a light golden brown like in the video
Have you ever cooked anything before. Doesn't seem as though you have. Forgive me not meant to be rudd.✌️🌝
Just music always turn off these type of videos no interaction
Not good tasting don't make
Your channel is called Bakeful but you are not baking but deep frying!!! SO Disappointing!!! ☹️
lighten up ace
yuck not even crispy
what is it with people who add spices and garlic to fish batter.............get to Britain and find out how it supposed be done, it may look nice and crispy but do not add those extra ingredients it's just so wrong. 🤢
you think britain only country who eat fish and knows how to do it ? 😂😂 many other countries adds spices to their food it adds flavour
That’s so bland! One must add spices to bring out the taste: we will leave the British recipe to blotchy folk like you 😊
Not everyone likes bland food dear
They did all come to Britain in the end.
Fish has a taste of it's own there are some that are bland
