    Worth mentioning that the SRT Durango is coming later this year, so anyone looking for an SRT with three rows won't have to wait for the Grand Wagoneer.

    I think comparing this to the turbo s is a long shot. The SRT is definitely a competitor to the GTS

    • @dobbins2550
      @dobbins2550 7 лет назад +7

      Thats fair. The turbo Porsche is twice the money. The Trackhawk will dominate the turbo for 10s of thousands less.

    It’s worth mentioning it’ll cost half the price to fix this car than the M5 or AMG, at least in the US. Hands down the most bang for your buck with performance SUVs

    15:13 - what’s an SR8? They just refreshed the front fascia in 2017 - so that’s probably why it’s “growing on you”. A performance car review without DRIVING the car seems almost pointless. Just some feedback.

      I can pull 4.1 all day long, in a 2015. The guys reviewing them have no idea how to launch them properly. 1. Track Mode 2. Press Launch 3. Apply brake 4. Apply full throttle 5. Release brake
      Also, Launch Mode is disabled for the first 1500 miles.

      yes you would be able to get the seats in and have room, but if you want more room wait for the durango SRT to come out at the end of the year. It's literally the same car but with three extra seats

    80k for American performance? That's going to be a hard sell to most.

  • @lynx800
    @lynx800 7 лет назад +2

    no reason as you said to go for the German competition if all you're looking for is running lights and enjoying the exhaust. The Germans are for those who value interior quality and luxury and handling. There is no competition if you factor in the whole experience, the Germans won't have the interior carbon fiber trim pieces losing glue and popping out nor the dashboard creak...(that's from my own experience owning both a 2014 SRT and a Cayenne Turbo 2015) yes you pay double but for those who can afford it... why not!

    • @13DatsyukDangle13
      @13DatsyukDangle13 7 лет назад +2

      Is the Porsche going to be better? Yes. Are you paying for the Porsche badge? Yes. It is not worth twice as much. At all.

    • @lynx800
      @lynx800 7 лет назад +1

      13DatsyukDangle13 technically speaking it is not twice as much, more like 1.75x. Anyhow I would compare it to the GTS would probably be around the same performance as well, and then you're 1.3x which is a bargain IMO.

    • @13DatsyukDangle13
      @13DatsyukDangle13 7 лет назад +3

      The GTS is a step below the SRT in performance, while the Turbo is a step above. The actual price is about 1.5 times as much (base price). It'll be an even wider gap once you get the options, since Porsche is notorious for overcharging for every tiny option. I am in no way denying that the Cayenne's are awesome SUV's. I'm just saying they are overpriced. People are just willing to pay that much more for the badge. It's fine though because why wouldn't they sell them for that much if people are willing to pay? I personally wouldn't be able to justify the price gap unless I was in a situation where that much money was chump change to me.

    • @skyisdlimit6125
      @skyisdlimit6125 7 лет назад

      True but the price? the jeep SRT is a total value car for performance without burning your wallet. If I'm rich I'll go Porsche of course but for middle class Americans like me, the Jeep SRT alone is pretty expensive especially if you got mortgage, bills, kids, wife and travel expenses. If I'm rich enough I'll probably order the jeep trackhawk that thing will destroy the competition for less buck.

    I was thinking of buying one of these back in 2015. I had a hot deal on one going too, 65K cdn, brand new... I test drove em. I was certainly impressed. I was NOT impressed with the interior quality, the seats feel, and look cheap. Some of the plastic components on this car can be found on 20k Darts. Just pure cheap shit, especially on the middle of the steering wheel where that SRT logo is. Soooo cheap. The back seats are SMALL!!!! and very uncomfortable, especially on long drive I bet. Doors felt cheap when they closed. The goods... The SUV sounds great, its fast, handles decent;y for a SUV. I ended up buying a new x5M in the end, which was double the price btw. cause it was that much better.

    420 hp is honestly just not good enough in todays day and age, especially from anything that has a v8....turbo or not. An SUV just simply isn't an SUV unless it has a near, or exceeding 500 HP engine...

      it doesn't have 420 hp it's the old model from 06-10 had 420 hp. The 12-17 model has 475 horsepower and with a mild tune, intake, axle back I was able to go from 0-60 mph from 4.4 to 3.9 and from 475 to 535 hp. Pretty decent.

      Cayenne is not in the Jeeps league. This Jeep is actually pretty affordable. The Porsche is twice the money and ugly. This thing is better looking and not over done like the Porsche. Can you afford 130K Porsche? BTW, the Trackhawk is coming and it will donkey rape the Porsche and still cost 30K+ less. Germany, pay a shitload and get less than America, what a great philosophy, the same that cost them 2 world wars, lol.

      -Porsche Cayenne GTS: 8:50:02
      -Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 8:49
      -BMW X6 50i 8:54:00
      Sorry to disappoint you. If only you did your research you wouldn't have embarrassed yourself right now. The SRT version of the Grand Cherokee is lightyears different from the normal Grand Cherokee with seriously performance orientated suspension

      I had a X5 and a touareg the touareg cornered better than the X5 but my SRT Jeep corners just as well and its lighter weight wise.

    I have both trucks and the Cherokee are worse in reliability. Remember when jeeps were being rear-ended and catch fire.

      They sell less than that in my area, more like 65-70 grand starting price. If it's fully loaded yes it can easily go up 80 grand. Against competition it's a value pack but yes I get you. It's hard to swallow something FCA for that price even a hellcat or the demon but people will buy it anyways like a Porsche with the same options 2-3x the price of this jeep. I've seen Porsche Cayenne turbo S fully loaded go above the north of 200 grand

    This video is just a paid ad. I tested this but bought an German brand instead. This car has the raw power but not refined enough like other European competitors. Please don't call this luxury until you see the interior of an G class, M5 or Q7.

    Does this SRT have the same faulty transmission problems. I have read reviews on 2017 model Jeep V-6 Jeep Cherokee. THE reviews have changed my mind . Who wants to spend big bucks on problems .....major problems ? I have been exploring the internet researching how mechanically sound are these Jeep Grand Cherokee's (all models) and if consumer's who buys these units
    are satisfied.....owners are reporting major problems from faulty transmissions....to everything you can imagine. What adds to the problem is the dealer nor the manufacturer will correct the problems....the customer is screwed. Read for yourself .....it is easy to locate these reviews.
    I want dependability .....not mechanical problems ......What is your response?
