7:28 You must have not watched the Defunctland video very thoroughly Dan, because if you did you would've known that sweaty college kids Pittsburgh don't take Becky out to the movies. They take her out to Kennywood again and ride the Old Mill/ Garfield's Nightmare, like their parents and grandparents before them. 😏 Also 3:33 I didn't expect Odie to be this well adorned in the chest area.👀
*Pittsburgh, but good. Philadelphia is like 7 hours’ drive away on the opposite side of PA. PA has a bunch of lowkey great theme parks, fwiw. Source: grew up in the middle part.
I’m from Hong Kong The mall is just next to me. I remember taking photo on him. I love this Garfield because you can’t see any human part or fabric folds on him. The proportion is really cute. He is not too large and tall. Kids love it. I think he is about 150cm only.
Speaking as part of a minority of people who actually liked the live-action Garfield movie as a kid, to the point where I had a plush of that version of the character, I would have ran screaming out of the building if somebody suggested I hug that Garfield on the couch.
That gorgeous Hong Kong Garfield and the Malaysian one look like they take a lot from The Garfield Show or those CGI Garfield movies. Those have a really definitive, beautiful Garfield design that works really well, it's the big eyes that pop and he smiles a lot in that design. That's the Garfield I remember growing up on, I think the show ran during the late aughts, early tens?
So excited to see Silverwood get a mention here! It’s a big hit locally, and I’ve been there countless times. It helps to have a theme park nearby when I need a coaster hit between Disney trips. And the occasional appearances from Garfield are always a fun addition!
I was raised in the town Garfield was made in and there was a museum and at least seven businesses with Garfield as their mascot. But this is the first time I ever seen a Garfield mascot
Gosh this reminds me of my aunt. She LOVED Garfield back in the 90s. Had an actual over weight orange cat named Garfield and all sorts of collectibles. Like, EVERYTHING was Garfield. I even remember her little Garfield ankle tattoo.
Yes, I ❤ garfield!! Especially the comics! I also love going to Silverwood too! But rn, they sadly don't have garfield and odie out anymore.. I have a picture with garfield though so that's fun! ❤❤ love the video!
As a little girl, I watched Garfield and Friends every Saturday morning! It was not Saturday morning without Garfield and my bowl of Froot Loops cereal! 📺🌞🥣🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤
Could you do a video about the evolution of Care Bears? You know l, like plush toys, costumes, TV shows, movie, video games, live shows, audio animatronics, and more of that media and stuff? After all, it’s the 40th Anniversary of the Care Bears!
I was hoping you’d bring up Lake Compounce! I went there several times when I was a kid. Don’t remember seeing a Garfield mascot around though. And “Jim Shultz from Peanuts?” It was created by Charles Shultz.
Something about the eyes on all these Garfields just makes them so creepy. The one with the wide eyes/without eyelids is my favorite one just for that reason. I watched the Defunctland video about the dark ride when it came out, and boy is that a STORY lol. I also recently discovered that Urban Outfitters sells a modern version of the suction cup Garfield that everyone stuck on their cars in the 80s/90s, so that’s a thing…
yeah the defunctland episode is not to be missed! (viewer discretion advised!!) never knew garfield was at silverwood! used to live in washington so saw ads for it all the time, but never had the chance to go out there. :( 15:40 definitely 'bootleg carnival/state fair toy vibes from *that* one, good god haha.
They actually just made a new Garfield costume for Nickelodeon Universe, and it looks like a cheaper version of the costume from Hong Kong. (This one 8:55) It's also really close to resembling the costume shown here: 9:56 but less cheap looking.
I saw Creepy Time Square Garfield, when I was in New York. I really thought it was a fever dream. The most terrifying thing about the Garfield comics was the spiders.
There’s actually a Garfield Dan didn’t talk about that a lot of people remember, and that is lasagna cat. Lasagna cat was basically acting out a comic and then after that, something happens, and all of that was done thanks to fatal farm, who worked on Comedy Central in the past. Lasagna cat had a bunch of videos uploaded on the same day which was January 14th in 2008. And again act out a comic, cue in laugh, then something happens. Every video ends with Jim Davis’ face being shown. Lasagna cat had been gone for 9 years until a teaser vid was shown in February 6th of 2017, which was indicating that lasagna cat was coming back. 3 days later, a vid was posted showing a phone number, and that phone number led to a voice message telling you to count how many times you had “fun” with a partner. And on February 23 in 2017 a new bunch of vids were shown including an hour long video about a guy observing the pipe strip from Garfield. Another instance was Jon on his hands walking around a hoop endlessly with people getting bored and leaving, with newspapers saying that the people liked it. But the last vid of the bunch was very important, it consisted of all the people that dialed the number and shared how many times they had “fun” with a partner, as the vid goes on, it gets extremely weird, but then on the time stamp 4:33:52 , Jon answers the door to himself to see him say he had “fun” with a partner two times, but the other Jon says Jon arbuckle zero and closes the door. We then cut to an older version of Jon looking at the window, seeing an irl version of garfield before walking away from the house. During his walk you can hear an interview with Jim Davis himself. He sees two figures drop off a briefcase, and in that briefcase was a taxidermy or stuffed version of garfield with fangs showing. It can even be seen floating In front of Jon a couple of seconds after. Jon then appears in a rocky ravine still walking and hearing Jim Davis, then a tribal garfield shows up running towards Jon before disappearing. That same tribal garfield reappears and Jon turns into worms with clothing still in tact. When the tribal garfield picks up the worms, we cut to a woman giving birth and of course speaking polish or Russian. She walks away from her birthed baby as it was revealed it was wearing a blue shirt with a cat watching over. The baby opens it’s eyes, and the screen goes orange. That vid was a representation of how the garfield comics have always been repetitive when it comes to comedy, and the videos that were made by fatal farm was proof of that. We don’t know if lasagna cat will return, but it left many people curious, while also scarring them for possibly the foreseeable future.
You would think that as someone from Indiana, I would have met Garfield by this point (Jim Davis is a fellow Hoosier) but I don’t think I have. But this video has alerted me that I might check out for a special Indy Fuel hockey theme night. There is a Garfield statue outside their stadium. By the way, the Indy Fuel’s mascot you see in the video is Nitro the Dragon and his official title is “The CEO of Mischief and Mayhem”.
I always manage to see your videos when I need a pick me up!!! thank you for always bringing a smile to my face and just genuinely making me happy!!! 🖤🖤🖤
I remember that Garfield movie suit / statue thing from my childhood; it was scary as fuck, and the fact it didnt moved at all, it creeped me out even more
I just caught part of a “Last Man Standing” Halloween episode and I’m pretty sure they had the Kennywood Garfield costume in it. I’m not 100% definite if it was that one, but it looked really similar! It was intriguing to me, since they had one of the main characters wearing it and it wasn’t in the context of a theme park or anything. Also, your videos rock Dan!
I actually recall a Garfield mascot costume being at Marine World Africa USA in Vallejo, CA at one point, and I only remember it, because he was the costumed character I decided at 9 years old to face my irrational fear of them, and run up and hug the guy. xD; Sadly I was alone, so no one got a picture or anything, and I cannot recall what the costume looked like from memory, so I can't pinpoint which of these it was. ;-;
I love that Quinton Reviews is writing for other creators right now ☺️ dude needs a break from editing insanely long videos! I already watched his Defunctland assist... Has he done any others on Garfield recently?
Hey, so those costumes for the 1988 Garfield video was used for a United Feature Syndicate’s Macy’s Parade float in 1983-84, along with others :] I have no idea how I know this, I only found it by looking at the Garf balloon.
Kennywood is my home amusement park! That Garfield's Nightmare ride definitely was interesting. Sure, it took over the oldest ride there, that being the Old Mill, and it certainly made amusement park historians upset, I get it, but it definitely was a lot of fun. Definitely a lot of cheesy effects, but the story was great. It had its debut the same year that Garfield movie with Bill Murray and Jennifer Love Hewitt came out. It was sad when Kennywood announced that they were getting rid of it, but at the same time I felt happy that they were bringing back the Old Mill. It is a fun updated ride that even references the Garfield ride through several orange tabby cats owned by several skeletons, and a tombstone that references a lasagna nightmare. Although I don't ever remember a Garfield costume walking around Kennywood or any of it's sister parks. The only mascots I remember seeing there were the kangaroo and the arrow that looks almost like Kennywood's sign.
7:43 that’s not necessary. Take Mark Hamill’s job as the joker. But good video. I liked the start where you weren’t like a 5 year old after eating candy
I'm really glad you talked about Garfield! Wow this was a wild one for sure! I love how you always do your research very throughly. Please do some looney tunes characters one day! I met Bugs Bunny at Six flags once! I hope you get to him soon!
Waiting for Evolution of: The Banana Splits, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Oliver and Company characters, Bonkers, Roger Rabbit, The Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Flick from A Bug's Life, Horace Horsecollar, Cosmo and Wanda, and other retired Disney characters or retired Universal Studio theme park characters, Evolution of Curious George, evolution of Peanuts characters, evolution of Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, baseball mascots, etc. 🎪🎠🎠🎡🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢
Loved the bootleg session, however you missed the most famous Garf bootleg of all, "Lasagna Cat". The story goes that two LA visual artists saw it in a costume shop window and just had to create a youtube series with it.
Also 3:33 I didn't expect Odie to be this well adorned in the chest area.👀
They pleasure themselves in the eyes of gods
They ride the old mill, Becky rides them
*Pittsburgh, but good.
Philadelphia is like 7 hours’ drive away on the opposite side of PA.
PA has a bunch of lowkey great theme parks, fwiw. Source: grew up in the middle part.
I’m from Hong Kong

Between you and Kevin, it's s been quite a time on RUclips for that POWERFUL CAT...named Gar Lasagna Field.
That gorgeous Hong Kong Garfield and the Malaysian one look like they take a lot from The Garfield Show or those CGI Garfield movies. Garfield: “This video is amazing, but it’s posted on the day that I hate most, Mondays. I hate Mondays.”🙄🥱😒
Garfield would be excited when it’s finally Tuesday
It was tuesday
It was Monday
@@supersonicpresents6864 no it was Tuesday the day of the video's release.
Mondays😕
Garfield , we don’t have any introductions of him , he is the Cat to love!!
So excited to see Silverwood get a mention here! It’s a big hit locally, and I’ve been there countless times. It helps to have a theme park nearby when I need a coaster hit between Disney trips. And the occasional appearances from Garfield are always a fun addition!
Yea I agreee
Probably the only Monday Garfield will enjoy because of this video's release; very well done!
I love how this was uploaded on a Monday
Depending on where you live
I was so happy to see Garfield's Nightmare on here! As someone who's home theme park is Kennywood seeing anyone talk about it makes me so happy :D
You should watch the defunctland video on it then! They talk all about the history of it!
@@rebelliouscottoncandy awesome!
Haha what synergy! Quinton and Defuctland! Amazing references🤣
I was raised in the town Garfield was made in and there was a museum and at least seven businesses with Garfield as their mascot. But this is the first time I ever seen a Garfield mascot
8:52 Now *that* is the perfect Garfield costume!
Gosh this reminds me of my aunt. She LOVED Garfield back in the 90s. Had an actual over weight orange cat named Garfield and all sorts of collectibles. Like, EVERYTHING was Garfield. I even remember her little Garfield ankle tattoo.
god damm I'll never get tired of his laugh haha love it when he starts laughing
Romance Garfield Mascot story was Super Funny!!
I watch Garfield everyday and he’s the reason I eat pizza every other day love your videos Dan!!!
I have been to silverwood at least 10 times and the Garfield at silverwood is like an inflatable Halloween costume with fur.
Yes, I ❤ garfield!! Especially the comics! I also love going to Silverwood too! But rn, they sadly don't have garfield and odie out anymore.. I have a picture with garfield though so that's fun! ❤❤ love the video!

"If you love lasagna, you probably love Garfield."
I can't disprove that.
Rewatching this, still amazes me how much mascot garfield/garfields there have been
Could you do a video about the evolution of Care Bears? You know l, like plush toys, costumes, TV shows, movie, video games, live shows, audio animatronics, and more of that media and stuff? After all, it’s the 40th Anniversary of the Care Bears!
Bruh this guy wheezes while still laughing normally and I cracks me up cause it honestly sounds like someone off camera is wheezing while Dan laughs
This video convinces me that you NEED to do a costume evolution of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If for no other reason than the bootleg costumes.
8:28 Lake Compounce is in the same state I live in Connecticut. And I remember as a kid Garfield being the mascot for the park now it’s Daniel Tiger.
I was hoping you’d bring up Lake Compounce! I went there several times when I was a kid. Don’t remember seeing a Garfield mascot around though.
And “Jim Shultz from Peanuts?”
It was created by Charles Shultz.

It's weird how long hey get on these. Like some have only a slit open and which is excessive even for Garfield's classic laidback expression.
Garfield: You just posted this video on the day I hate the most, Monday.
I always so look forward to the little clip Dan chooses to put at the end of the video after the patreon names
I can't believe this posted on a Monday
PLEASE do an episode on sesame street costume characters! They have such a rich history!!
Garfield always love lasagna. He a good character.
I video on Garfield, on a Monday? The day that Garfield despise that most? How exciting!
I love the fact this was released on a Monday
Not me totally wanting Dan to break into giggles during that intro. Definitely not the case. BTW, would love a White Rabbit costume evolution.

Yeah it’s Monday so Garfield hate Mondays 👍🏻 oh Disney Dan I love your videos 😜 😎💯🥇
Pretty nice evolution video of Garfield.
Wonder if you'll ever do an evolution and history video of Little Einsteins costumes someday.
If I see a smiling Garfield on a Monday my life would be a lie or just explode
Thank you disney Dan for doing a Garfield video, for he's my favorite comic book character
I’ve meet Garfield a couple times in silverwood
Loved this episode! Keep up the good work!
Did you seriously just upload this on a Monday? Well played, good sir. Well played.
I wish Lorenzo Music was stil alive. He'd react to all these costumes in his Garfield voice for sure
You know if you turn Dan into one of the cats from Cats he would look just like Garfield.
I just caught part of a “Last Man Standing” Halloween episode and I’m pretty sure they had the Kennywood Garfield costume in it. Garfield's costumes are so fluffy!

I already watched his Defunctland assist... Has he done any others on Garfield recently?
Lately his videos have been about Nick sitcoms like iCarly and Victorious.
I was trying to do some research on this, thanks for doing it for me

I'm so hyped for this video, thank you 😂
The word "garfield" was spoken 84 times in this video
All I gotta say about the Hong Kong Garfield costume:
100% perfect. I need one of those!!!!
Why does Garfield act like a maniac in every single episode I watch
I'm from Pittsburgh and I love the new old mill
I meet Garfield at my local mall in the early 90s. It was fun
7:43 that’s not necessary. Take Mark Hamill’s job as the joker. But good video. I liked the start where you weren’t like a 5 year old after eating candy
Ah Yes My Spirit Animal!

Another great video
Wow 😃, I like the Garfield 😸 I was a child in Cartoon Network in 1980s version 📺!!
Actually the former Maple Leaf Village amusement park in Niagara Falls had a Garfield mascot.
There is no way that you are sober when you make these. That laughing that attitude! Lol 😆
I love what you do
15:24 that looks like a drunken Garfield for sure. Sorry I have to say that.
My grandmother had one of those suction cup Garfields in her Suburban.
Disney Dan should do the peanuts costume evolution next
Never in my life would i think that i would ever hear the phrase “yassified Garfield”
14:52 That one's "You Are Not Immune To Propaganda" Garfield.
Luigi or Yoshi next? they went through some strange alterations, like bizarre stuff
I never knew that I needed to hear Dan say yassified, but now that it’s happened-
Don't forget the Lasagna cat Garfield real life parody costume
Waiting for Evolution of: The Banana Splits, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Oliver and Company characters, Bonkers, Roger Rabbit, The Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Flick from A Bug's Life, Horace Horsecollar, Cosmo and Wanda, and other retired Disney characters or retired Universal Studio theme park characters, Evolution of Curious George, evolution of Peanuts characters, evolution of Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, baseball mascots, etc. 🎪🎠🎠🎡🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢
Yeah the costume character for the live action movie was very frightening
Like...I think I would run crying
I was cracking up the whole time watching this thank you 😂
hey Dan you should do a costume evolution of Brer Rabbit, its actually kind of interesting!
Like how it’s released on a Monday
15:24 Odie has had enough of Garfield's beating and shit that he drugged the cat with wine in the lasangia
RIP Lorenzo Music (aka Garfield & Real Ghostbusters Peter Venkman)
Loved the bootleg session, however you missed the most famous Garf bootleg of all, "Lasagna Cat". The story goes that two LA visual artists saw it in a costume shop window and just had to create a youtube series with it.
Now I want to see the evolution of Mad Hatter in Disney parks 🎩☕️
AHAH “you watched that defunctland video” I did lol
I wish you had talked about all the Garfield phones that washed up on that beach
Lol my mom has the suction cup- she loves Garfield!
“i know you watched the Garfield Defunctland episode!” yes indeed i did lol
6:30 ..cues the music... bow-chika-bow-wow
You talked about Silverwood I can’t believe it lol. Now that is my childhood Disneyland don’t know her Silverwood heck ya
