    The audio in this video was recorded with in-ear binaural microphones. If you wear headphones, your mind won't be blown, but it will go, "woah."
    I'm also the producer for the Winding Road RUclips Channel:

    Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly test vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, you'll see! Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later!

    turn radius seems crazy good. I drive an old Volvo 740 from time to time, and there is not a chance in the world I'd be able to park like that. Very interesting to see what Volvo has to bring the coming years!

    Planning on taking a look at the smaller XC40 R-Design when my wife's lease is up on her current car next February. She doesn't like big vehicles so the size of it (saw a demo of the non R-Design spec at the local auto show) should be something she'd like. Hopefully they'll have ironed out any of the small niggles you had with this larger sibling by the time the XC40 releases.

    Hey Christ been a while man, glad to see you're taking a close look at all the new volvo's coming out on this new platform they developed. I wonder if the XC60 T8 R-Design is as responsive and enjoyable to drive as the T6? I assume at this point, that Volvo will have remedied most of the problems that were found in the T8 XC90 models at this point with this being their 4th entry on this platform if I'm not mistaken. It really looks like this XC60 T6 is great to drive here, I'm impressed with the acceleration too. I ran numbers on the XC90 T6 and T8 to find out what metrics Volvo was able to deliver for the considerable price hike when opting for the T8. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the T8 model weighs only 432 pounds more than the T6 of the same trim level, putting the T8 XC90 @ 5059lbs, which is way lighter than it could have been with all that safety equipment (Might be even less of a weight increase for the T8 versions of the XC60, S90 and/or V90/V90 Cross Country.) But most impressively I wanted to verify if there were any gains of power to weight ratio and I've never seen this done before, it's probably not even a thing, Torque to weight ratio lol. Opting for the T8 XC90 over the T6 improves the power to weight ratio from 14.64lbs per hp to 12.64lbs per hp, it increases the torque ft/lbs to weight ratio even more from 15.68 ft/lbs per pound it weighs to a pretty good (i think, lol) 10.71 ft/lbs per pound. Either way, massive jumps in performance metrics and decent job done in keeping weight down. I know that in the T6 the 2.0 sc turbo I4 is obviously the only power source for all 4 wheels but the T8 uses that to solely power the front, and the 84hp 177lb/ft (combined) electric motor(s) power the rear wheels. The manner in which that is done could make for a more flickable crossover on slippery road conditions. A V90 T8 would be dope, the styling alone is enough to choose it for me but all that power AWD and Volvo Wagon visibility has to make for such a serene environment.. Btw I put these new Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Ultra- high performance summer tires that came out recently have excelleny reviews on my C6 Audi S6 V10 Chris and though I have limited experience with summer tires I can tell you that both my experience with them so far coupled with the research I did watching reviews of them and the price ($148per tire mounted and balanced!) that these seem to be the best available tire that safely accomodate all weather conditions 3 out of 4 seasons a year here in Madison, the road noise is extremely low, they're very quiet, the turn in was improved to be downright preposterous for such a big nose heavy car and It would be dangerous for me to see how fast I need to be going for understeer to occur with these things. Reason I switched to summers this early is because we had a mild winter here and I wanted to make sure I had these for the summer time if i didnt get winters in time for the winter, these firestones have recieved the highest praise for their ability to perform very well in wet, rainy conditions when compared to the competition. Only question that remains is durability. If you're ever looking at fitting summer or even track tires to any of your cars I strongly recommend looking into these, because they perform like I would expect Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric Supercar tires, or Pirell Trofeo R's to perform, maybe even better in some respect, certainly value.

    I just test drove a 2019 XC60 T6 and it was very quick. It can be even quicker with the Polestar Tuning Option, which adds additional HP and Torque. Also, a Custom Drive Mode can be created with a Heavier Steering Response. Overall, I like this car. I'd prefer the 400 HP Hybrid, but it's a Plug in and not practical.

    On highway, the noise is very disturbing. Has the car the noiseisolating windows? The headcam is sometimes heavy moving, perhaps a mix with staionary cam and headcam would be better for the observer.

    I live in Sweden, I like your videos but I just don't like the new Volvo's. The outside of them is nice (subjective) but the massive touchscreen in the middle which you can't operate with gloves on (as far as I know) and it being kind of slow is just not acceptable in 2018. Let say it's cold outside you have to take of your gloves and wait for the screen and computer to warm up before you can even turn on heated steering and seats, what were they thinking? Stop copying Tesla and just put a few more buttons in. I have no problem with the relatively small engine as I have the same displacement in my car but the engine itself is rather bad. First of the consumption at 140 kmph. Volvo burns 12,3L/100km while Alfa Romeo Stelvio 280hp also with 2.0 consumes 9,6L/100km AND delivers better 0-100 time. Second Volvo has both turbo and compressor which in the long run might get pricey if it breakes. Might be a good car for those who want something other than german and don't really care about cars as long as it works for 3 years until the lease is over and that's it, but it's not something I would buy. That's all from me.

      I mean it's not a bad car don't get me wrong and I'm glad it works well for her but it's a soccer mom car, and that is not something I personally want from a car. In my opinion XC60 is about the maximum size where it's still acceptable to put a 2.0 I4 in and XC90 is way too big imo to have such a small engine, but I admite it's one of the best looking SUV's and I belive you when you say it's comfortable. Fun fact: XC60 here is like the douchebag car of choice (expecially the first generation) next to Audi's and BMW's

    • @JakubW
      @JakubW 6 лет назад

      Jonathan A Yeah I know 320hp and 400nm but I have almost the same numbers in one of my much smaller cars (280hp to the wheels so around 300-310 at the crank and 400nm also) I feel you should get more for your money especially because xc90 is not exactly cheap and it weighs alot meaning the engine will be working harder and wearing faster. For me Volvos are boring and I don't think anything will ever change that. Please don't get an an Crossover/SUV unless you go offroad. SUV are pointless for the majority of buyers. I see too many people getting them thinking they are safer and more spacious which is simply not true and they end up paying more for less simply because it's a trend now.

      LONE_WOLF Firstly, you can wear almost any pair of gloves on the screen. Secondly, it is just slow at startup, which isn’t a huge deal, 10 seconds won’t be a deal breaker. Volvo wants their interior to be minimalist, which is why the touch screen comes in.
