Been listening to this album for almost 20 years and I still react the same way as you guys now when I hear certain tunes on this. It is the absolute bible of Neurofunk. So Timeless and clean, it's an absolute joke. *Fixation was my favourite
@@lastweekliquid-adrumandbas5630 Yes, Digital Nation, please. And as you're listening to it, remember that Inside the Machine and Digital Nation were both released in the same calendar year.
Re: Slip Through, I remember reading years ago the sample said "Through you must slip". I understand the sample was edited to have the words in that order.
Oh, to be able to listen to this for the first time again! Can I suggest adding Dom & Roland - Industry; Technical Itch - Diagnostics; and TeeBee - Black Science Labs to the list if you've not gone through them? (I also second the Clockwork LP!)
This album is proof that good exists in this world. There are zero situations that cannot be improved by putting on Wormhole -- good or bad! Great video guys.
I remember watching a drum ‘n bass documentary and someone said “Wormhole was just.. it.” As though it set the bar for everything to be compared against.. my initial reactions to tracks like Millennium were crazy to say the least
Still as fresh now as it was back then!!! Try Technical Itch - Diagnostics, Dom & Roland - Industry, Decoder - Concussion, Stakka & Skynet - Clockwork & Torque (No U-Turn Records) too...
Great video! Although it makes me feel old as dirt knowing this album came out nearly 24 years ago now! Have you guys checked out Jonny L's Sawtooth or Magnetic albums?
@@lastweekliquid-adrumandbas5630 Two monumental drum and bass albums from Jonny L. Really paved the way for the next 20 years. A first reaction video with those albums would definitely make some good content!
IMO THE pinnacle of DNB! Still sounds futuristic almost 30 years later! Do check out Gridlock's mix of Compound, and even better, Matrix's remix of The Medicine. That one is my vote for best DNB remix of the 90s, honestly.
Are you only doing artist albums,or would you consider label compilations. 2 of the biggest from the 90's would be the 1st Platinum Breakz on Metalheadz, and my favourite, the Protoype Years on Prototype.
Youve got to review 4 Hero - two pages Adam F - Colours Grooverider - Mysteries of Funk Reprazent - New Forms LTJ bukem - Journey Inwards Big Bud- Infinity +Infinity Calibre - Musique Concrete
Ed and Op - The Creeps is another one to check out, Doctor Shade too. Thru the Galaxy carries on the EdOp partnership on to Chameleon which has some more rock influenced tracks. But like what others have said - TeeBee Black Science Labs (plus others on Subtitles), hunt out Klute / Photek too (especially older Certificate 18 amen-age tracks). Calyx... utter filthy heavyweight (his Durban Poison remix on Rugged... ripper).... and not forgetting the rest of the Virus family.... Matrix (Optical's brother..... now go find a track on Formation Records called Paragone by International Rude Boys from '93 iirc.... who is actually Matrix as well).

@@harryparadise615 that's pretty insane tbh, never thought of that
Now this is a cool video! 👌
Thanks! Lot more to come 🙏
You gotta remember how long ago this was, and the quality of samples stand up today. Groundbreaking seminal album. Pioneering as it gets back then
I was amazed how fresh a lot of the tracks sounded
Re: Slip Through, I remember reading years ago the sample said "Through you must slip". I understand the sample was edited to have the words in that order.
Thank you, for years this has bugged me 😂
You guys should check out all their tunes, Bacteria is one of my Favs, and Reece.

Nice vid guys! Maybe you can do Stakka & Skynet's Clocwork LP one day if you didn't heard it already
never heard of it - adding to the list!
Yeah that is a straight dnb classic
Ed Rush & Optical are pioneers. LOVE em.
Really enjoyed this, another suggestion for you, Calyx - No Turning Back

Such a good album. Ed Rust & Optical were so ahead of their time and the pioneers of that twisted techy sound along side Underfire and Negative.
good ol' ed rust

Huge album, I love to drop Slip Thru wherever I can 🥁 Seconding Adam F's Colours as the next album to check!
Thanks for watching man! 🙌
same ;)
Adam F - Colours and London Elek - Pull the Plug if not heard before.
both going straight into the queue...
The title track Wormhole is my fave, just a wild, funky ride!
“This could come out today, honestly” - 💯 that’s the magic of this album - the REAL Timeless

Also Ed Rush & Optical put out a very solid album in 2017 called No Cure. Wormhole vibes on that one!
oh another amazing album , great :D
MATRIX - SLEEPWALK
exactly what is missing from dnb today, the funky and the vibes !
Great channel, just found
Slip Thru is the real mother of Neurofunk
This is back when people still listened to music outside of their genre more.
we used to go raving with those faces 😂 no happiness at all, only bassfaces ❤️..dark vibes
Slip thru and Glass Eye are just too good. Reminds me of spider trigga and bass just going mad on it
Stakka & Skynet - Clockwork LP
Noted!

Bad Company - Inside the Machine
you have to be in the end club lads
I always cringe when people compare Compound to 20/20, 20/20 was a cheap ripoff of Compound that lacked any atmosphere.
At least they know that future cut classic. They sound the same and 20/20 still goes off at a rave.
just listened to the remix - basically the same tune
I still prefer the original 20/20 to Compound - the remixes I can take or leave
FYI check Gridlocks remix of Compound. Nasty vibes!
