"the crouching is weird" i saw in chat, but really it's not crouch spam limits the sound you make while moving while keeping your speed at a higher value than regular crouching that's been a thing in the game since OW1 and is what people (especially on Tracer) use to get into position faster without alerting enemies that there's a Tracer in their backline
6:44 just throwing it in as a tracer main, if I am turning a corner and am expecting enemies on top of my teammate I will track my teammate through the wall as a default starting aim position.
I can see WHY chat thought they had walls early on, it looked like they were tracking through walls but I actually think it was just them following sound cues + map knowledge, they could predict where the other team was moving and knew the map well enough to follow the sound.
@@ntech216 well it was a gold lobby I believe but I agree with your observation. It's pretty much what I see in my games. It could just be someone doing placements. There's still a ton of people that haven't done placements. Especially on alt accts and such. I went up against someone the other day that I know for a fact is a GM level player that took about a one year hiatus and is just getting back into the game. A few matches and this person will be where they need to be. I actually do believe the system is pretty good at figuring out where you should be in ten matches or less. I know there's crybabies that claim they're in ELO hell but ELO hell is largely a fictitious thing. If you're good enough you will climb until your skill plateaus where you should be.
They are not a one-trick maybe learning Tracer on an alt. because their 180° blink flicks are slow for Plat post season 9. But their >180° blink movement is very good for a Plat lobby. Definitely a smurf.
Almost certainly not cheating. Good engagement timings, good target priority, good movement, good blink usage, good recall usage, good melee usage, good pulse-blink combos, good map knowledge, good usage of medkits, good crosshair placement. If you see how smoothly the crosshair flows over the Illari at 13:25 it really doesn't look like there's any aim assist. The player also doesn't pre-aim targets through walls. The reason Tracer players spam crouch while walking is to mask their footstep sounds while still keeping decent walking speed. But, yeah, they're definitely too skilled to be in that lobby.
If they are cheating it’s a bizarre method. Good blink melee, good pulse bombs, good engagement timing, decent blink management. However, did blink often into positions where they were looking at nothing still or were turned around/confused, aim at mid ranges was very scuffed, low critical hits, lotta wild flicking and dance/crouching. My guess mid tier player trying to one trick tracer, watches a lot of streams, sees the value/metas, learned the techs but still working on it. Cheaters have egos, would of turned it up or swapped. Someone trying to 1 trick wouldn’t.
The cheater problem has made everyone hyper sensitive to anything remotely sus even if it's non-cheating behavior. I know I've certainly become more skeptical in my games but a lot of times it's just a smurf ruining things for the rest of us or the match making being trash.
Smurf, I would say a they are a ~diamond tracer main. I'm a diamond dps and honestly their tracer specific mechanics are better than mine for sure, but other things aren't so great
Not cheating. I'm not even 100% this is a smurf. They are good, yes. But they have Gold tracking and aim while acting like they learned GM techniques from a YT video and are testing them out. If this is a smurf, they are no higher than Diamond because I see better tracers there.
The pulse bombs are really good for Gold though, and so is the movement and cooldown management. Also, you say they look like they're testing out GM techniques they learned from a YT video, but I disagree: most of what they're doing feels purposeful. Not only do most of their blink-melees hit, they're good at choosing between blink-melee and blink-180-melee (so they have a good understanding of blink distance). More importantly, they're going for them when it makes sense and frequently confirming kills off it, so they are both good at the execution and knowing when to go for one. I'd guess they're Diamond, maybe low Masters. The tracking isn't incredible, but every other aspect of their gameplay seems considerably higher than Gold.
@@TheMoocow2009 "most of what they're doing feels purposeful." Idk how that would discount the theory of them trying new techniques. If you are testing out a technique, it would be purposeful. Their blink melee was slow for a high level, but the fact they did it places them higher than gold mechanic-wise. But I still don't think they are a high smurf. Their skittish nature and never being confrontational shows they are reserved and afraid even at this level. They are gold, maybe platinum in my eyes. Being a back-line Tracer that runs after taking 1 dmg means they still have a lot to learn. They need to start taking those 1v1's.
Sorry but that aim tracking is not Gold lmao It's very much roughly Diamond level With how Overwatch 2 has changed it's genuinely impossible to have perfect tracking close up, you can slow down a game from Dafran on Tracer and even he will miss quite a bit, it's just how frigging fast heroes are nowadays (especially when Juno or Lucio is around with their speedboosting abilities)
@@trilloff When I said purposeful, I meant "done with a purpose", (I didn't just mean the opposite of accidental). In retrospect, the basic purpose of blink-melee (to finish off a low health enemy) is simple enough it doesn't mean much that they're using it correctly. It's more about the execution to me -- I've never seen a gold Tracer with that level of accuracy with blink-melee or blink-pulse bomb.
It’s funny when people can’t determine if someone is cheating or not, especially when it’s aiming. You can tell when it’s natural aim, or it’s slightly snapping or blatantly snapping on someone’s head.
Not a cheater but if they are a smurf they aren't too much higher than gold. Lack of engagement is a big issue. There team was a dive comp but the Tracer tried to either just do clean up or take 1v1. Lead to several team fights lost. Almost like they were trying to keep their death count low but still have relatively decent eliminations. Definitely someone who dropped and is trying to climb out
What really annoys me is everyone's thought about cheaters, if someone's better they're cheating, if someone shouldn't be that rank, cheating. I feel like that phrase is thrown around wayyyy too much
This is a smurf. Their recall discipline is pretty good. Not a lot of Gold/Plat Tracers would hold their Recalls at 20 hp to risk going in for a blink melee and THEN recalling. Just seems like a good player to me, lol.
I typically see cheating when most people do not, but this doesn't look like they are. I can understand from some of the kill cams why someone would think it. Could they still be cheating?? Sure, but after the replay and seeing their game knowledge, I doubt it. If they are, they would be the first cheater using cheats to get a slight edge, and not ruin the game. I am low rank, and they just look like a better player.
idk how anyone can think this tracer was cheating, they look like every other gold tracer player ive seen. using slightly more tech but they cant actually aim while crouching or jumping or strafing, seems like they just learned some cool new tech on tiktok and wanted to try it out but they arent actually getting any value out of her, this guy is not even a smurf let alone a cheater.
I think it’s a Smurf messing around. They have moments where they seem to be trying then moments when they don’t care. After all, it could be a second account and they probably don’t want to climb it so that they can continue to try different techs. Never really know
Not cheating!!! He has good habits and game sense! Especially the crouch spam is a good indicator for a good flanker! Don't even think he is a Smurf! He is just playing well BUT his timing for engage is off a few times which causes his team to lose!
Twitch chat is about dumb as a box of rocks if they think this is cheating.. there's way to many people not willing to say they're not very good and want to instantly say someone is cheating when getting beat or in this instance a reverse sweep started to happen
I'd say probably smurfing. Sometimes I also have good matches as tracer but I don't have that good of a movement like one time I stood still behind enemy Pharah who was ulting, nearly died to her but killed her and lived on 5 hp. But that's probably someone from higher ranks, playing on an alt who's probably learning tracer
I think it was awfully convenient how many times their crosshair was on enemies behind walls. Once, fine, twice, possible, but 10? Sus. I dont think they had aim assists on, but they might have had walls
As someone said as a tracer main, if your team is getting attacked you’ll probably hear it and you’ll automatically bring your curser to where they are. Also if you know the general direction of where their spawn is let’s you determine where the enemy would roughly be. Not going main? They’re down below. Not down below? Probably main or the side. You can usually guess where they are. Just because YOU can’t guess where the enemies are doesn’t mean they can’t lol
There isn't really enough to definitively say they're smurfing, and with how aggressive auto report has become it's not fair to report unless you're really confident imo. Maybe if this was like a masters+ smurf, or a bronze lobby.
