One of Michael Keaton most interesting and forgotten great performances in movies
Keaton plays such a great sociopath in this movie. Great script as well showing how devious, scheming and destructive sociopaths are. The same with narcissist. They're all brutal to deal with because they all operate like this. PREDATORS.
@@brianwalsh1401 - How did he die so fast from this?
@@matthewschwartz6607 Based on my medical experience from watching a few episodes of House and having gone to hospitals and doctors offices I would say he died so fast because it was in the script. Also wouldn't a pipe through the gut cause massive internal discombobulation of organs and bleeding.
Anyone who has ever seen this movie has NEVER FORGOTTEN his performance. That’s as banal and ignorant as saying “Michael Keaton - He’s so underrated” “Val Kilmer - He’s so underrated” “Bette Davis - she’s so underrated” “Tim Robbins - He’s so underrated” “Christian Slater - He’s so underrated” 😂😂
I've never forgotten this.
When Batman goes Badman…😅
Did it hurt?
Beetlejuice: it's showtime!!
If this had happened during the pandemic he would have never had to pay rent anyway. All this damage would have been avoided.
You wanna get nuts!? Let’s get nuts!
One of the most ironic yet poetic Justice endings!!! The Bad guy James (not Carter Hayes - not Drake Goodman - he stole those names from his victims remember) But James was the one who exposed all those pipes sticking up from the floor when he wrecked their house. He essentially killed himself when he set those weapons up sticking out of their otherwise flat floor without holes to reach up and grab his ankles through.
Michael Keaton was the most underhanded scariest villain in this movie.
Never would’ve guessed it from a comedic actor.
Just goes to show you the range these actors can have if they are not typecast. ❤️
He is the male version of "Single White Female", naughty, naughty!🤣🤣
Except Carter (James) came before Hedy (Ellen)
It broke my heart to see him play this role, because I'm so used to him playing a nice guy and funny man. But I will say, Michael Keaton did a great job here
80's baby classic here!!!
1990
1990 Actually, but we were still in 80's mode in 1990 cause we really didn't get into the 90's mode until like '92 or '93.
Thanks to this movie this is why they want first month + security and second month upfront 😒
And always do the backround check.
Oh, look at that. He's been impaled. 🙂 Haha. 🙂
And as a ghost, he became Beetlejuice.
Carter knew that Patty was trying to outcon a con man. that's why he said this to Patty: ''You wanna insult my intelligence?'' Carter wasnt stupid at all. rule number one: never outcon a con man
What's the line that says don't wrestle with a pig because the pig likes it and all you'll end up doing is getting muddy and tired and the pig enjoys it.
I heard that line given by Ms. Griswold that said this is business to him you don't want to make it personal.
@@brianwalsh1401 yep and Patty shouldve listened to her and Patty violated a restraining order
@@MyJustin316 I don't think her and her boyfriend, Matthew Modine, knew exactly what they were dealing with or she would've taken the policeman's advice and let it go, but she couldn't.
I was 51 before I figured these people out and I was married to a covert narcissist playing games with me and me getting frustrated and angry. It was 11 years later before I knew what she was. At least now more people are waking up to cluster B pd's a lot earlier in life. Things like The Depp Heard trial help this out.
I thought this was a really well done movie. Make sure you do your back round check.
@@brianwalsh1401 yeah i know the black cop played by Carl Lumbly i seen the movie i got it on DVD
@@brianwalsh1401 i saw the movie when i saw the scene where Patty outcons Carter at the hotel i said to myself ''Carter got what he deserved in this scene. He tried to destroy Patty & Drake's lives now its turn to suffer the same fate''
Keatons best
Batman gets impaled!
Not Batman. The other character is Carter Hayes aka James Danforth who lose his balance and fall backwards to be impaled by an iron bars.
@@chrisamon80 I know that. It was just a joke…
@@Romulan2469 He's different from all the others. It's the truth. Not a joke.
@@chrisamon80 Whatever you say kid.
@@Romulan2469 Don't play games with me. (Laughter)
The mother of Madame Web vs. The Vulture
Michael Keaton was a great villain in this. It reminds me of how he was in beetlejuice. I remember when I first saw this movie on Wpix 11 when it was the WB11 and it was on first before hunt for red October with the late Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin. I always wondered why they put both movies together.
Modine was NOT her husband in this !
Didn’t he like, remove the covering for the pipes that he got impaled on earlier in the movie?
I believe the floor was flat with no holes or anything sticking out before he messed it up. He did essentially set up his own demise.
80's movies were especially violent.
This one’s from 1990
1990
Well don't forget this is not the first time Michael keatonplayed the villain beetlejuice's play The villages only difference of that that was comedy this time he plays a serious bad guy
He dies a little too quickly imo. That doesn't seems to be a critical wound.
One went into his liver. That is the end.
Perforated Liver, Laceration of Right Femoral Artery... loss of consciousness would be rapid.
Yeah, I didn’t get that either .
@@matthewhelton1725 - He would have DIED, though?
Bruce wayne
Congrats on being early and finding this comment 🥇
I always thought this to be sort of a crappy ending to an otherwise great movie. And copper tubing is never cut that way; it's not even possible with a standard cutter.
Is it possible for him to have died that quick? He did in like 30 seconds .
be afraid of tenants... landlord who r kind gets conned
Really? There are more slumlords and disgusting landlords than bad tenants.
@@franklaferriere5754 u count them ?.. 2 mths deposit+1 mth advanced rent should do the trick against tenants who thrash the place, take away toilets, kitchen fittings n piss/poop in the house...one tenant rented the place out n collect rent...another divide the house in 6 boxes n rent them out 2 cooks on shifts
Unless your joe pesci!
@@franklaferriere5754 There's probably enough on both sides of the tenant landlord transaction..
@@brianwalsh1401 Yup
Second
Keaton is a crappy Villian. He's not threatening, scary or intimidating. He's just Keaton doing a silly stupid schitck.
