I wanted to play blackjack in Monaco but didn’t because there were only French speaking tables and I barely knew it. Apparently you can play blackjack without understanding what croupier is saying.
All these videos always remind me of Charlie Chaplin, when he tried to imitate languages without even knowing them. Great, relaxing content though.

They're playing poker so you have to play with a single deck. Otherwise you could get hands like 7 of a kind.

A dealer that shuffles cards like that? Then she put it in the machine anyway. What was the point of the ritual of the girl bringing a deck in a box and taking an old deck away? I understood a word or phrase here and there.
A lot of these casino rituals are about building trust in the player that the game isn't rigged. The throwing together shuffle is usually called a "wash" and according to Percy Diaconis it's one of the most effective ways to shuffle cards. You normally see it as the first shuffle before a new poker hand is dealt. Except here, the subsequent shuffles before the deal are being done by a machine.
That odd ritual with the new deck and the fanning of cards would be a way of saying "see, you aren't losing because of a bad deck, we're changing them every so often". The spreading out on the table is so that you can see that it runs Ace through King through all four suits, so there aren't missing cards or doubled cards. Again, you're trying to show that the house isn't cheating.
The decks are disposed of. They’re shuffled so that paranoid gamblers aren’t thinking they’re going to be reused, and if they are reused (which they aren’t), they’re already shuffled. New decks are brought in to make sure they don’t run out. You can actually buy used casino cards with holes punched through them. People collect them.
The reasoning and method differs from casino to casino. Not all of them do it the same way, some don’t do it at all depending on country.

There are many websites that do this, and I think a lot of them use the same rooms. Yeah, you're gambling online but with a real dealer. Honestly I wouldn't trust a real money online blackjack game to be fair if it was just a browser based video game. This way you can still see the cards are shuffled etc.

Wow. People actually DO this? Seems kind of sad, really. Now we can indulge our gambling addiction from the comfort of our soon-to-be foreclosured home. 😩 I couldn't shake that thought as I watched and listened. Any ASMR numbies quickly melted away when I realized just what kind of business this was.
I'm not sure it's any sadder than gambling in person. Sports betting is a huge industry and people have been doing it for years on their phones, so why not play dumb casino games?

@@ellescer Because there are so many people who can't stop gambling and I have a history with that reality. It is an addiction, and the digital age has only amplified the disease. So THAT bothers me to the point that I can't properly experience ASMR. If you don't get WHY then I doubt you truly experience or understand what ASMR actually IS. What triggers one person's ASMR will not necessarily trigger another's response. Or at least that has been MY experience in the ASMR community. ☮
