Hi James, thanks for sharing your CPC setup I decided to get one again as it was my 1st computer aged 11. I always wanted it to do more than usual haha I wonder what software is and will become available for internet related activities as of now? I wish RUclips had not removed the messaging service.
Huh, great. Im the owner of a CPC6128 and a few years ago I had thoughts about using the CPC for RTTY or even packet radio with amateur radio "infrastructure", which works with up to 300 baud at shortwave. Im sure, a cpc would cope with it
i did a search and found the answer on the Duke's help. The answer is that you can install parados only to the cpc 6128 PLUS model (slot 7). For the normal cpc 6128, Dukes says that we MUST not attempt to overwrite amsdos located in rom slot 7.
Looking for something similar, but a bit different: - Ethernet hookup instead of Wifi, compatible with BBS's. - No SD slot, but program download from a server. I would rather not maintain all these SD cards in a classroom full of CPC's.
Yeah, that's why I think a wiznet 5500 and Attiny 85 should be sufficient to hook up to the net, although even the Attiny might be more powerful than the Z80 as well.
You did a small mistake and this is why games were not loading in the last part. You installed the 6128 OS in slot 31, but this is not correct. You need to install the patched version of the OS which makes the cpc "think" that the SD card is drive A...Once you substitute the ROM you uploaded with the patched one (you will find it in the page of the M4 in cpc wiki), the games will work again but you lose access to disc...anyway this is not a big deal in a 464. But imagine you have an external drive (as I saw in the video) and you want to copy files from disc to the SD card or viceversa... You just have to go to the webinterface and untick the set lowerom... Once you finish you tick it again and can execute your games ... With the latest version of the firmware (2.0.3 beta) you can even run them from the webinterface. Well I hope this info can be helpful for you
Amstrad still amazing people in 2019. This is what we will all be using when CYBERDYNE becomes self aware
Just bought one of these M4 boards thanks to your video. Do you have any plans to do more videos?

Great review it helped me to go and order one for myself. Just a question, have you also tried to flash Parados to M4 board?

OK, but I'm not sure I agree that it would be safe from spooks, as it uses an internet connection.
Amazing
Btw, this board is not from Austria but from Denmark :D
Hopefully sending emails from the CPC will be possible in the near future...when it is i'll be dusting off my 464 from storage.
and perhaps twitting
You can. See one of his older videos here: ruclips.net/video/3WPMq80wYFY/видео.html
No link to buy one?
Why do you hide www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/ROM_List?
