I have to say that while the ending was sad, I didn't find it disappointing. Finding love doesn't guarantee a happy ending. It's just life. Two broken people shared joy for a while. How can that be disappointing?
The only place you will find it would be in the soundtrack. The song, Pavane, was written by the Franch composer Gabriel Faure. The arrangement with electrical guitar was phenomenal. The music was a 'perfect' complement to the movie. Not much has been mentioned about it, since we have all been carried away by Jessica and Barbara. Their chemistry was amazing. :))
It suited this piece nicely. I also noticed it was in one of susan Sarandon's movies-also a wlw scene. Seems like the composition aligns well with wlw scenarios lol
