    Great video and amazing tank. If BRS brings these over to N.America, I'll be considering going all LED. I was tempted with the Vervve when they came out. I recently pulled down my metal halides and rehung my 10x54w ATI Powermodule (non hybrid). It's so aesthetically pleasing I can't bring myself to mount bars to it. This would solve that issue altogether. I love that they curve it, probably reduces shading. Beautiful.

      Thanks! Haha that basically sounds my progression in lighting. Giesemann has actually signed an exclusive distribution deal with BRS so it should be available in the future :)

  • @tropicreef

    Thx for explanations. what are the dimensions of your tank? you will not be dazzled when the lamp is so curved?

    • @viking_reefing
      @viking_reefing  Год назад +1

      It’s 200x80x65cm. No, the curvature actually keeps the light inside the tank rather than spilling outside of it

    Thanks for this review. I’ve got a question about the power cord. It looks like it’s coming out of the back corner - do you know if it can come out of front corner also, or is it fixed in place?

    • @viking_reefing
      @viking_reefing  Год назад +1

      Any time. It’s fixed but with a bit of elbow grease I guess you can reroute it. Or just have the light facing the other way ;)

      @@viking_reefing I would hope they bring out another option for the diffused (matrix) section that is only blue - like 410, 440-450, 465-480 like they have now plus 420s and 430s... but now I look at the site and they have a "deep-blue" version coming in May!
      Wow

    • @sunnygoold9449
      @sunnygoold9449 Год назад

      @@viking_reefing If I was doing a new tank build that would be the light for me. If it was just about the light in the tank I'd rather get a Stellar Hybrid with Reefis for pucks and AI Blades for fill...
      But the V12 would simply be one amazing light and the cost is simply incredible I think for an SPS / mixed reef and I would want wide - at least 70cm on my next build.
      I hope Giesemann are prepared to make a LOT of lights. When I look at this light and compare it to the other lights on the market I just think nothing comes close in terms of value. I think for premium LEDS there is this, the ATI Straton and a Radion / Blade combo. If you are going to need coverage for SPS this is the clear winner. The only thing for me was all the reds and whites in the matrix section and it looks like they solved that.

  • @patrickjones9023
    @patrickjones9023 10 месяцев назад +2

    This is how LED fixture should be done, one big fixture like T5, no shadows, no discoball... not 10 small ones which look like some DIY workshop. We need out tanks to look aesthetic.

    My tank is 120cm wide. On thewebsite it states a 90 cm fixture will be enough, but do you think? Am I better off going with the 1200 that will cover my tank from end to end or is it overkill? Thanks

    • @viking_reefing
      @viking_reefing  6 месяцев назад

      It will definitely be enough. I runt the 150cm version on my 200cm tank and I grow acros on the edges. However, the 120cm version would be even better of course.

    many have not covered their aquarium. how easy to clean the underside of the lamp from splashing water? Can the diffusion glasses that are used be pulled out? How do you clean the underside of the lamp? How loud are the fans of the lamp? sorry for all the questions. Such FAQ are missing on the giesemann hompage.

    • @viking_reefing
      @viking_reefing  Год назад

      Well, you can either just wipe down the panels with a cloth whilst it’s hanging or remove the end plate and just pull out the entire protective sheet for a deep clean.
      As I said in the video I’ve never heard the fixture make the slightest sound.

  • @reeferstevo1408
    @reeferstevo1408 Год назад

    Glad to see a new moorish idol in the tank, the bad news is, the Achilles is chasing him around. Looks like the Achilles needs some timeout in sump or move the aqua scape around before you have another dead moorish idol from him. I have multiple tangs and a moorish idol and they get along, however my emperor angel juvenile would constantly harass the idol, so I had to catch him out. Acanthus tangs can be such jerks. Secret is to stop adding a new fish or keep increasing tank size if you do. Space, territory and food trigger most aggression and you feed heavy so that’s not the issue, so you need to reset the tank hirachy? Good luck great tank 👍

    • @viking_reefing
      @viking_reefing  Год назад +1

      It should actually be fine. The aggression isn’t bad as it’s only chasing and not doing damage. What happened last time was that it was slashing it.
      The achilles is so prone to stress so pulling it really isn’t an option. Even if I put it in my 200L QT it probably would perish
