Andy "Smoothie" Ta, former Support of Cloud9 and TSM and currently teamless, is the star of the 367th Episode of 'Reflections'. This episode is part one of two about Smoothie's career.
Smoothie's career got its start playing in NA Challenger Series with Team Dragon Knights. From there he would briefly join Team Liquid before making his way over to Cloud9, where he began to build his name.
Known as a strong botlane with Sneaky Smoothie became famous for roaming and shot-calling his team to elite status. They would play in back-to-back LCS finals with him, losing both to TSM, and attend both S6 and S7 Worlds. In both Worlds appearances the team escaped a tricky group draw to make the quarter-finals.
Moving to Echo Fox, Smoothie saw less success and it would be a move to TSM that saw him back at the championship level. Partnered with Zven he reached the S9 LCS Spring final only to be reverse-swept by Team Liquid and denied the title. TSM fell apart over the summer and a transfer to CLG saw Smoothie's results fail to rise to the top level again. He has played in Challenger/Academy the last few years and is currently teamless and undecided about his future.
In part one, Smoothie talks about entering the scene, putting emphasis on learning shot-calling, playing with names like Sneaky and Jensen, making two Worlds play-off runs and what stopped C9 winning those LCS finals.
This interview was recorded on the 24th of February, 2024.

Smoothie is one of the most overlooked players of all time. He was victim to two insane game 5 throws (2017 Jensen Ekko and 2019 Zven Ezreal). I wonder how history could have been different if he had won those two finals.

I always thought Smoothie was so good on C9, I remember one game where he was trundle support and saved somebody from a blitz hook with pillar. Blew my mind, also that WE series was so fun even though C9 lost. Looking forward to the next part. I always wondered why he didn't stick around in the LCS as long as I thought he would

Yeah, I remember most people thought ruler was a weak link of that samsung team, but randomly they became by far the best bot lane in the world during the second half of that tournament
