  • I haven't reviewed many Indian whiskies in my time. For no other reason than...I haven't had that many. But, every now and again, one raises its head and has people talking. Indri Trini is one such whisky. So...what's everyone talking about?

I know this to be a bit of divisive one. Some really dislike it, I on the other hand, absolutely like it (on my 3d bottle), but I also really need to be in the mood for it. The cs Drú even goes to eleven. Great review mr. Ingram!

Great review and an interesting one. I've not ventured into Indian whisky because I don't find it at reasonable prices locally. This sounds like a great example of a whisky that improves with water. Sometimes experimenting with water or taking time for a pour to open up pays off big time. A Hazelburn-like experience for the price is a deal! Cheers, Jim.

Cheers Bud. Some Indian whiskies are definately worth checking out if you see them in a bar. Cheers my friend.

Thanks for reviewing this one, Jim.
For me too much grape influence and therefore no real interest to try it out. But don't let that hamper anyone for trying it out. A lot of folk seems to like sherry and wine matured whiskies.

Very interesting review Jim, you convinced me to put it on my list hoping it could be as « weird » as the Hazelburn 10😂
Good job and cheers to you 🥃

Loved this review, buddy! I remember I enjoyed this whisky as well at that blind challenge. It's not at all available where I am so I took opportunity to bring a bottle back home from Limburg. Look forward to open it and experiment with water as you did! Excellent!

Nice review Jim. Lots of folk rave about this one but I've not tried it yet myself. So many bottles in the market to pick from - not sure if I'll take a punt.

I bought a bottle of this last summer and didn’t really get along with it but now I’m thinking I may have been rushing it and I don’t know that I ever even added water. I’m going to pull this one back out and give it another go. Thanks Jim!

I was always on the fence about buying a bottle of this but after hearing the words black jacks associated with it then no thanks 😂😂 The citrus and fruit salad notes sound right up my street but I despise liquorice with every fibre of my being.

Nice one Jim! I did not enjoy this one. Not that there's anything wrong with it but when I have an Indian whisky, I want that little bit of Indian character which I get with Amrut Fusion or Paul John MIthuna. This one was like a standard Scotch whisky. I also tried the Indian market exclusive which was interestingly bottled at 42.8% and it was basically the same whisky but watered down. I don't really enjoy Hazelburn either so there you go. Cheers 🥃

Oh Jim, I remember fondly those '8 for an old penny Black Jacks and Fruit Salad chews' as a kid in the late 60s 😉It's a combination liquorice and aniseed flavour.....love it 😋. Very interesting tasting notes and an excellent review my friend.
Slàinte Mhath from Wee Davy 🥃😃👍.
