I am so glad you did a close up on your stitching because before you did that I thought you were making stitches inside the outer line instead of on the outside. That is where I have been going wrong. Who knew? Not me! Thank you so much! I can finally make some embroidery letters and numbers.
The fabric used here is a bit see-through, so it was easy to trace the letters. If the fabric you will be using is not see-through, I suggest using graphite paper (this can be found in craft or art supply stores), then trace the letter. Graphite paper is similar to carbon paper. It's a bit more expensive, but I find it to be worth it because you don't get the smudging that carbon paper sometimes causes. Great video, by the way!
Crazy helpful. I've just started embroidery and my best friend's birthday is coming up. She loves home-made gifts so I want to make her something special for this year. Thank you for this!
This is great! Thank you so much! I'm planning to make Anna's travel dress from frozen 2 and there's a lot of embroidery involved. This should help me out!
So nice thank you for this video ! Just a question one of my friend wants to do this on 6 handkerchief that she will gits to her bridemaids. So just one small word "amour" on each but I was wondering how long this technique would take ? Is it very time consuming ? Also for something more delicate as a handkerchief what type of thread or any tips would you advise ?
I’ve been looking for a video like this for AGES!!! have you ever done hand stitching with silk before? I want to initial some Christmas pj’s for my daughter and not quite sure if it’s possible to hand embroider on silk xx
Hello thank you very much for this! I am a beginner and had no clue how to do it! One question do you have to backstitch or can you just automatically just start satin stitching
new learner..dummy me..try to stitch for my first child, due August. hope i can stitch her/his(don't gender yet) name neat and pretty like yours. thank for the video.
Does anyone know how to transfer the letters to the stocking? Were we suppose to make the name on the stocking the whole time or just cut around each letter? Please help with follow up video. Thank you
Okay, I could be wrong but I think she embroidered to the top part of the stocking with the intent of attaching the whole top to the “foot” part of the stocking.
Try colored sewing /dress making tracing paper, it's like a feels like powdery paper. Normally fed in multicolored. you can trace patterns with the print on top, trace paper and fabric at the bottom.
Get a silver quilters pencil and trace it that way. Tape the fabric against a window or something similar for light to pass through with your printed image behind it
The only reason there is captions is because you must have your closed captions setting turned on. It has nothing to do with the person who made the video. In the top left hand corner of the video you will see 3 vertical dots, click on those dots and a list of options appear. Click on "closed captions" and set it to "off". Hope this helped.

It is a popular medium to embroider on! As long as you're working with a straight weave fabric you will do well. Just use small needles with silk
beautiful👍
عمل روعة good job

She’s embroidered the actual stocking, it just Dosnt look it yet as it hasn’t been made up yet
Embroidery first and then carefully line up the sewing pattern piece and cut it out from the sewing pattern template. No need to extra fuss and work
Is there a way to transfer the lettering to fabric that isnt translucent?
Kalia Kisses wondering this too!
Try colored sewing /dress making tracing paper, it's like a feels like powdery paper. Normally fed in multicolored. you can trace patterns with the print on top, trace paper and fabric at the bottom.
Use a light box and water soluble quilters pencils for tracing

what do I do if my fabric cant see through the letter whereas my handwriting is bad ?
You have to get a color pencil and lightly write on the fabric that you'll work on, or buy another cloth which can see through the letters, no choice
