This is great info, I enjoyed it and am looking forward to making the recipe. A couple of questions - does the Grapeseed Extract have a scent/fragrance and how many drops of essential oils would you use if adding them to the entire batch? Thanks
the grapefruit seed extract that i use doesn't have a fragrance. typically to 100ml of a finished batch of lotion /cream I would use anywhere from 7 to 15 drops of essential oil/s. However if making a therapeutic blend ie for pain relief etc , then 15 to 30 drops essential oil/s would be used
If I am going to use myself within a couple of weeks, then i won't add a preservative. However if putting into a pot to keep for a while i personally like to add either leucidal 4% or grapefruit seed extract 2%
Hi I’m Chelz from Belgium i love you video’s 😊. I have a question about feminine wash What type of preservatives do you recommend for natural feminine washes? Do you recommended preservative eco?
@@janbenham oke how much % and can i only use that on it’s own and how long is the shelf live? I’m asking these questions because i want to sell them for my costumer
Here is a recipe taken from my book "The Baby Boomers Beauty Bible" Basic Lotion This trial-sized batch makes one 120 ml (4oz) bottle of lotion. INGREDIENTS: Waxes: 1 tsp. (5ml) Lanette wax 1 tbsp. (15ml) Fractionated Coconut oil Waters: 50 ml Rose water 100 ml Distilled water 1 to 2 ml preservative of your choice
i haven't had good results with colloidal silver water. It might extend the life of the lotion or cream for a couple of weeks which doesn't work if selling. However for personal use you can always try and see if it works for you!
Dicapryl carbonate is non oily which what makes it so special in a cream or lotion. However some substitutes would fractionated coconut oil or jojoba which are the least oily of carrier oils!
Leucidal max and liquid germal plus are my fav. Preservative in my home-made skincare ✨✨

@@Ladylove498 with Leucidal, i would use between 2 and 4%. Another one that is natural is geogard.
