    This is great info, I enjoyed it and am looking forward to making the recipe. A couple of questions - does the Grapeseed Extract have a scent/fragrance and how many drops of essential oils would you use if adding them to the entire batch? Thanks

    • @janbenham
      @janbenham  3 месяца назад +1

      the grapefruit seed extract that i use doesn't have a fragrance. typically to 100ml of a finished batch of lotion /cream I would use anywhere from 7 to 15 drops of essential oil/s. However if making a therapeutic blend ie for pain relief etc , then 15 to 30 drops essential oil/s would be used

    Thanks for a very informativ podcast. Question: you didn't add any preservatives to the cream with OlivOIl avenate . May I ask why?

    • @janbenham
      @janbenham  6 месяцев назад +1

      If I am going to use myself within a couple of weeks, then i won't add a preservative. However if putting into a pot to keep for a while i personally like to add either leucidal 4% or grapefruit seed extract 2%

    couldnt u use colloidal silver water instead of distilled when making lotions??? its anti viral and biotic.

    • @janbenham
      @janbenham  6 месяцев назад

      i haven't had good results with colloidal silver water. It might extend the life of the lotion or cream for a couple of weeks which doesn't work if selling. However for personal use you can always try and see if it works for you!

    it seems it is hard to find dicaprylyl carbonate online. Can you you please commend a substitute it ? it live in Europe :)

      We carry dicapryl carbonate and we are located in the Netherlands aromashoppe.com/product/dicaprylyl-carbonate/

    • @janbenham
      @janbenham  5 месяцев назад

      Dicapryl carbonate is non oily which what makes it so special in a cream or lotion. However some substitutes would fractionated coconut oil or jojoba which are the least oily of carrier oils!
