    Future war is likely to be a mix of cheap and hideously expensive.
    Remember that precision is almost free these days.
    The cheap stuff is so cheap and simple that there is no barrier to entry. I can probably finance such a system out of my savings. It also means that e.g. ISIS can do so as well.
    I suspect that the only viable defense will be based on lasers. Missile based defenses will be far too expensive.
