We dont want easier lives, we dont want extra attention.. half the time we truly dont even want to talk about it.
We want to accomplish our mission whatever that is; and not many people know how to find the objective without guidance.

I think many people, including myself (and trust me, I need to hear what I'm about to say as much or more than anyone else), think and/or claim we are broken way before we will actually break. I think there is a huge difference between breaking, where you are exhausted and have no more fight in you (physically, mentally, emotionally), and giving up, where there is still fight in you but you give up.
I don't know how well this analogy works, but its like life has you in a choke hold. Do you tap as soon as it sinks, or do you fight for the last few remaining seconds before you go unconscious. Do you quit, or go out fighting? If you quit its over. Eventually muscle memory takes over and you start tapping before the the chokehold is fully applied, and then you tap on the set up.
However sometimes, in the last couple of seconds, you continuing to fight pays off and you slip out of that choke hold. If done correctly, escaping that choke hold may in fact put you at the advantage and the whole match can change. It's why we should never stop fighting.
I'm not going to break (as in by my choice), this world will have to break me. If I'm going down and out then this world will have to drag my lifeless body across that line.

Finally "something clicked" for me. This is the most important aspect I needed addressed on overcoming "brokenness". I can't tell you how much work I've been putting in to overcome the perpetuating self sabotaging psychological hole I fell into. Seeing "being broken" in the light of understanding one's limitations only to seek ways to strengthen and build oneself to overcome and surpass that level in the future; was my missing puzzle piece. Simple, elegant, motivating, clear and something I can measure and work to fix.
It's been embarrassing for so many to watch me fall from being a leader, being strong, determined, energetic, playful and uplifting to downright weak. (I didn't know I was capable of this level of fear of living and weakness) It felt like utter defeat.
Thank you ♡ I just know I can do this now. Give me 3 months.

Happy New Year, Jocko Sir. Thank you for this. Your words are always so impactful. I now say Good on a daily bases and I have you to thank. Thank you for your teachings, for your words so that we can put it to action if we're strong enough. I'm a person with a disability, Spina Bifida more specifically. I've had a lot of challenges through the years and while I'm still trying to overcome them, what you do as had a very positive impact. Thank you, Sir and once again, Happy New Year.

I find the advice in your podcasts encouraging and helpful. I'm doing something very meaningful. I'm taking care of my husband who suffers from dementia. It's not an easy to take care of him, but it's meaningful. He deserves the best care I can give him. When I feel as if I'm going to break, which some days can be often, I acknowledge what I'm doing is tough and then dig down deep and look for a strategy that will give me the strength to continue.

I’ve watched this many times during quarantine. Especially after i broke up with my gf. I really miss the memories i made with her and because of covid all i do is i sit and think. I practice music daily, exercise, go to work, and play video games but there is so much time i have it just hurts looking back on how good life was. I know that I need to start doing big things now so I dont keep thinking in the past, but this shit sucks. Imma keep going though thanks jocko

This is phenomenal....I just reached a point of being broken last November and I made it worse acting out instead of handling correctly like I've learned to do now. From people like Jocko, Jordan Peterson, John Joseph, David Goggins, etc I have learned. Any hardship, including being completely broken by life, is AN OPPORTUNITY to learn, regroup and refocus, find the solutions, apply them and COME BACK STRONGER AND BETTER. Then...continue training mentally and physically to become better and more prepared to handle the next battle or war in life.
