Getting rejected by someone is a normal part of life, reacting the way he did is absolutely unthinkable. She did nothing wrong, must be hard for her to go through all of this though. I couldn't imagine.

I hope the girl is able to get therapy and can live a relatively happy life. This isn’t her fault, there was no correlation between her rejecting and the massacre. rejection is a normal thing everyone deals with. I feel so bad for her, this sounds like he was harassing her, this is so disturbing to hear… this is traumatic.

It’s not when he had to hear about his wreckage or the damage he caused. It’s when he is hearing the texts between him and the girl he was stalking. Everyone at some point in their life gets rejected. At some point we all go thru a traumatic event. That doesn’t give a person the right to pretend to be God and go on a murdering spree. With the nature of this horrendous crime if he does get the death penalty I think it should be by firing squad.

when i was in 6th grade i befriended a boy who was really short and nerdy in my science class. i did not know that would result in him having photo albums of me, making a steam account in my name, creating 100s of twitters to tweet me, and following me around. I was in 8th grade when I found out. It had been going on for 3 years and i never knew my safety was at risk until then. after i found out i tried to file a restraining order, but so much happened in a short time: my dad passing away threw it all out the window; i didn’t care anymore. fast forward to highschool and he was a self proclaimed “incel” who was in a multitude of my classes. The school knew he threatened violence toward me many times, and did nothing about it. Im thankful nothing came of this, but i was genuinely concerned for the same outcome. i know how she must feel, may she heal knowing that this monster will rot forever. PROTECT YOUNG GIRLS!!!!

He never did it for rejection. They unloaded his entire phone and found a video of him practicing and planning his attack weeks before it happened.
Also this is to show the jury that he was well aware of his thoughts and what he was doing…unlike when the police arrested him and he tried to act crazy.

It’s terrifying and almost unreal about those timestamps towards the end. (i.e. February 14, 2018, 2:11pm) The shooting unfolded at around 2:19pm, which means these final messages were *minutes* before he would do the unthinkable.

Wow I am so grateful that we are able to see all of these details that may seem insignificant but are proving to give such an insight into what was going on in his head. I know that there’s been people that just feel sorry for him due to a belief that he had no one that loved or cared about him or that he didn’t have friends or girlfriends etc and clearly that is not true. I am wondering if he had any real intention of meeting up with his friend and Caroline or if he was just making it look that way so he could pretend that he didn’t have control of his actions and that the shooting wasn’t planned ahead of time. But all he’s accomplished is making it very clear that he was more than capable of making decisions for himself and wasn’t hearing any demonic voices telling him to kill people. And even though he was socially stunted he had friends girls that were possibly interested in him. He is selfish and creepy and demanding but completely sane and knows exactly what he is doing

Everything is important in order to prolong his sentencing as much as possible. To prove this was premeditated and he isn’t insane. He’s not just freely walking around during this, he is being held as he is a danger to himself and others.

It shows there was some hesitation. He might not have went through with it and attended the fire had he known earlier but his actions stem from rejection. That's not how the system works, everyone gets their day in court regardless of how horrific the crime. It's called due process and it happens for a reason.
Without a trial one could claim they admitted guilt under duress, that would embolden prosecutors to force plea bargains simply to pad their stats, after all thats how prosecutors are judged. Most wanna move up or into a private practice, many innocents could end up in jail for things they didnt do. It would embolden police to interrogate people as they please for the same exact reason. If the defense attorney doesn't do their job then he could appeal the decision saying he didn't have fair representation. The whole trial would have to happen again, he could even change his plea at that point just to drag the whole thing out. How do you think the victims families would feel? Or those who survived his attack?

It's alarming how many people would allow emotions to eliminate our constitutional rights. People also don't understand the importance of the sentencing phase which is what we've been watching. The jury will be deliberating on life without the possibility of parole or the death sentence in doing so the state has the burden of proving he isn't mentally incapacitated in any way because if the defense can prove he's incapacitated mentally in any way it's unconstitutional to sentence him to death. The state is doing amazing in showing that he knew exactly what he was doing and he attempted to manipulate more serious mental health problems knowing he was planning this act of evil.
