I'm glad Rob put up this tree because Flash has been running his mouth that he was the one that invented hip hop. Ever since the show The Get Down, Flash been saying he's the one that invented Rap

It's rare that I have the attention span to watch anything on the internet for more than 30secs or a minute but I watch, not only watch your videos but watch attentively! You are a wealth of information and a great teacher. Honestly I think you could teach anything! Wish I could sit n chop it up with you about Hiphop, break beats, samples, styles, DJs etc. And have you help me master them damn flares and chase patterns that be kickin my ass. I have a slight handicap on my right arm which makes some fader movements and scratches difficult with that arm. I'll be 44, from Jersey and my life has been soundtracked by funk, disco, soul and HipHop. I dabble with the DJ and production thing, I have 2 sons 20 and 17 who are murderous on the mic! My soon to be 12 yo daughter wants to DJ but I'm not a great teacher. I appreciate what you're doing! It's a joy to see the young generation embracing the 4 elements and getting into DJing the right way! Its the same enthusiasm when I watch KxngGuap, a 19 yo who does reviews of classic hip hop! He truly is learning about the culture by listening. I love it. Hip Hop ain't Dead as long as the #BrolicArmy is holding it down. Nuff nuff nuff respect due. Peace n bless.. #Biceps

Bro, thank you so much for sharing that with me. Your comment struck me in a good place. I appreciate that. Respect to you and your offspring.

Rob, you do so much service to the culture and beyond. These lectures, along with "Built to Scratch", are some of the best documents available on the art. Anybody curious can get the essentials on hip hop from this shit, and they become correct. It's crucial knowledge, told well. Props.

Rob , you're an amazing teacher & an absolute beast on the turntables. Your sound is probably my favorite out of all the turntablests out there .. thanks for keeping me motivated & posting these lessons.

Man I envy these kids. When I started scratching in the early 80s there was nobody to look up to, these are lucky people. I'm pretty sure I'm older than Rob, but I still look up to him.

Yo Rob. You are by FAR one of the Best Turntablist EVER. Keep it up bro. Just wondering, if i wanted to get into one of your classes. How do I go about contacting you? I've been in the scratch game for a while and would love to learn more. I just want to maybe join one of your advanced classes and brush up on some new beat juggling patterns and scratches..

I love your hands-on teaching method. Where can I find, and what are the names of the sounds you're using?

    • @djrobswift

I never disclose the names of sounds or music I use in my videos. I learned that from my DJ forefathers.
