    7:25 spot on from Tim. Spot on. Because Neymar never really understand the physical style of football. He never really understood the importance of building up his body so that it can take the physicality and the punishment. I do agree with the Neymar comment that he invites the foul, a lot of the times he baits the defender and tries to show them up, instead of passing the ball and getting the return pass, like the goal he scored. Neymar does have to change his game and play with more intelligence.

    I think Brazil has taken a backward step in fitness and conditioning. Because when you see the likes of Ronaldo, Cafu, Romario, Rivaldo, etc, they used to be well-built and could also play physical style if they needed to and would also last a tournament. It is glaring to see that whenever they play disciplined and physical European competitions, they struggle and then injuries happen. Croatia went to penalties with Japan and yet it was Brazilian players pulling up with cramps, and I did not even know that Richarlison was that badly injured to play. So I think they need to go back on physical program and conditioning because the approach is not working.

    • @jimwatson7238
      @jimwatson7238 Год назад +1

      I disagree it's nothing to do with being Physical or conditioning these guys all play for European teams their as fit as any team. When you see a Brazil team with Richarlison as their main striker you know their in trouble he doesn't start every week for his club side , this Brazil was packed with mediocre players in comparison to the great teams of the ,past surely there are better players back in Brazil than a lot of these guys.

    • @tashrif46
      @tashrif46 Год назад +2

      @Jim Watson well we cant say that. To say that there is better players in Brazil than some of those players is kind of unfair considering the quality of football in South American clubs is not the same anymore.
      Plus physicality and conditioning matters. Croatia players played 120 mins plus penalties against Japan in the previous round and yet somehow Brazil players were the ones cramping up. And then against European oppositions, the lack of physicality and weight training really showed.

      Had nothing to do with luck or attitiude. Croatia made at least 2 dozen field switches in that match and Brazil didn't read them. Brazil has the same problem a lot of nations showed at this WC: zero dedicated box-to-box players. 4-6 defenders and 4-6 attackers, no mids to control pace or section up the field. Argentina, by contrast, had at least 4 mids on the pitch in any given match- 5 if you count Messi.

    Brazil’s problems can be traced back to the heart breaking defeat to Italy in the 1982 World Cup in Spain,they have never recovered fully from that loss. Brazilian football took a heavy knock,they won it twice with sub par teams,especially in 94 where they just grinded out results and stumbled over the line,won in 02 due to the individual brilliance of Ronaldo and Rivaldo,but as a team Brazil continues to disappoint in world cups. Talent is now farmed, it is grown, it is manufactured - in European youth academies. They produced Mbappe and Messi. How much top tier talent has Brazil produced in the last 20 years. Apart from Neymar and arguably Vinicius who else. Compare that to the endless conveyor belt of gifted players produced by France, Spain and Germany. Croatia had Modric one of the greatest midfielders of his generation. Brazil's midfield was led by a player from West Ham. The talent pool has dried up. Teams that dominate the game nowadays have well developed youth academies that cultivate players. Croatia were tactically beaten against Arg. Their coach Dalic is to blame, not the quality of the team, although some of them wanted to make a name for themselves instead of playing for team.
    They changed their approach with Argentina and could never get back in. Croats were playing safe, foolish in my view.
    The Brazil shot on goal was no more lucky than anyone elses shot on goal. Football is a game of skill, luck and mentality. Brazil and Arg are not entitled to win, seems like everyone felt Messi is entitled. Their goalie was as much a contributor to their win as Messi yet all we hear is messi this and messi that

    Football matches are not won on paper,they are won on the field of play.Relying on reputation and past do not count for anything.Once the World Cup begins past glories are meaningless.I have always been a Brazilian fan but I will say one thing to Brazil.Ignore the hype about being the favourite ,technical skill must be allied to teamwork and mental strength.Brazil seemed to be sorely lacking in that department.Neymar is not a leader,he is a prima donna.He simply does not understand that the team is bigger than any one player.In fact,Brazil might be better off if they started playing without him.My final thought is that if Brazil had conceded an early goal in their first game and had to come from behind and won,then perhaps we may have seen a different Brazil.The would have been forced to dig deep.The Brazil squad needs a sports psychologist.

      In 2014 there was a scandalous penalty on Higuaín but nobody said anything cause it was an european team. 2014 and 2018 where perfect scenarios for conspirational pupeteers that "want Messi to win". I guess in 2018 Croatia was more marketable as a finalist than a traditional team.... And in 2022, even with the crazy and fate changing final game somehow people (mostly europeans) dare to be sure that it was all prepared for Argentima. It's ok, you keep trying to belittle Argentina. We keep enjoying the fact that Di Stefano, Maradona and Messi were born argentinians and that, alongside Brazil, we keep feeding your leagues with the footballers you just can't produce
