- This is a video of one of our Senior Assessors here at Alpha Structural going under and inspecting this old brick foundation.
We do plenty of foundation inspection every week in Los Angeles county. One out of every twenty or so appointments is a brick foundation. These brick foundations are some the oldest and most dangerous to have under your house. They're not bolted to the house, they are deteriorating more and more every year and they would completely crumble if an earthquake hit.

My uncles house was the same design and he had the same problem and he lived in a house for another 20 years. Shocking it didn’t collapse but when he died his kids so the property to investors and I just demolished it.

About how much do you think it would be to fix this problem?
It really depends. Some brick foundations are historic and can't be demolished, so a sister foundation is installed instead. This can range from 20-65k depending on what is needed.
