It's so surreal seeing something that was essentially a "meme" within my family years ago is now an actual meme.
Should've seen the "Whole Tray of Peas" meme that kinda... popped up and consequently disappeared like a tabloid in a magazine that only has that much to cover that month.
I believe that's called an "inside joke"
@@CapnShades I know, I said "essentially a 'meme'" to accentuate the similarities between my family joking about this and the internet joking about this.
A couple of the lines became memes between my brother and I in the UK version (different dub and possibly script), one of the most notable being "Welcome to the hole in the wall club. This mouse band can really SWING"
For me and my family it was "HEY, YA GOT ME" from the safari minigame in Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo

@@Mordecrox Nah, it's better than that, the stream didn't crash, he apparently intentionally ended it abruptly. That game ruined his brain, and his last concious act was to spare the chat the horror of witnessing his abhorrent descent into madness.
The way the kids say "Thank youuu" before beastially wolfing down their peas in front of you is something I still instinctively reference in conversation to this day. Classic childhood brainworm; glad to see it lives on.

As everyone else have stated, this absurd moment in what felt like an obscure game really stood out when I was young. Very much surreal that a "whole tray of peas" is not an exclusive memory to my childhood any more.
I even remember the circumstances of where and when I played the game, and to think back on that isolated dark dusty little corner tucked away in an old creaking house before real internet at the edge of the world and knowing that somehow this seemingly personal experience hidden behind several layers of obscurity has had millions of eyes on it all along. It just gets weirder.

Vinny you're literally tracking down every single childhood game I've played lol, and one of them is JUMPSTART. Though "1st Grade" is the game I've never played at all, I only saw a preview of it, iirc a preview video was bundled with the Jumpstart games I've played in the past.
For some reason I vividly remember all of these foods and even the icons and voices, and yet I forgot about the Not-Scooby-Doo dog in the corner there
