Sohvi - 'So Enjoyable' and 'I'm done with the boat life' - best lines so far and followed by - Juho - ' yea if it's free then I'll do it' - classic yachtie talk... Well done team, enjoy the winter..
hehe, Sohvi does come up with the one liners...! "free" there actually meant "vacant", although it was free as well (as in they did not charge us in the end)
And also share their channel with others who might be interested in nice people traveling more interesting places doing more interesting things and showing it with quality.
There are already 1.1 K thumbs up on the same day of publication. It takes time for a new YT channel gather momentum no matter how exceptional it is. It is off to a good start.
Yes, absolutely. I am not as brave. I may brave sailing south where its warm. Going north in the winter? I consider that very brave. The Atlantic in the winter is no joke.
It's tough being seasick and plus an unfamiliar port, poorly marked, pitch black, and sleep deprived. A lot going on there in a such a short passage. You guys and gals are tough. Good work.
These are the three stages of seasickness. 1. You feel really really crook and miserable. 2. You feel so bad you get scared you are going to die. 3. You feel so bad you get scared you are not going to die. Another brilliant video.
Well done. Sohvi: If you never want to be sea sick again, buy and take Stugeron 15 mg tablets. Take 2 the night before departure and then 1 every 8 hours of your trip. They are the offshore sailor's best friend. The can be purchases at pharmacies in Britain or Commonwealth (or former Commonwealth) countries. Perhaps you can find them on the internet. Many off shore racers use them. And there are no side affects, unlike the patch or Dramamine.
Hi Juho and Sohvi, thanks again for taking us into ur adventures. Respect for your optimism ! Jealousy is a emotion i try to avoid. But in this case...... :-)
Well done guys! While serving in the British Navy we were used as test dummies for a seasickness drug called Stugeron (in UK). It works extremely well. My sea sick wife used them when we sailed to Antarctica and I was amazed to see her eating and drinking during a rough crossing of the Drakes Passage. The drug freezes the fluid in the ear "tubes" which stops the brain from getting mixed sensations. (Eyes see no movement when down below but ears sense the motion). I think they sell a version of the drug as a small patch you apply under your ear too. Looking forward to the next video.
Sohvi, you and Carolyn should have a talk about what’s best to eat after a passage like this. Lots of chocolate croissants in France, is one suggestion from the Admiral. 😃🥐 Regards from Rick and Carolyn on Snow Gum.
Glad that you had a safe sail to Iceland, but sorry that Sohvi suffered seasickness. I know from personal experience that seasickness is no fun. Now I take Meclizine before sailing to prevent seasickness if it looks a little rough out there. Take care and have a safe winter in Iceland.
On seasickness: I never, well once, got Seasick. It was in relatively small seas with lite winds. ➡️ Only happened looking forward.⬅️ Unfortunately, had to help pull the forward sail down! Walking backwards was a new experience!
Thank You - Thank You ,,,,, Love You Guys !!!! Fair Winds and Warm Nights !! And people saying too late to leave and I dont think you can ,,,, they dont have ARKTIKA. She will protect you and get you anywhere at almost anytime. And it's a warm early winter so far I LOVE THIS SAILING VESSEL !!!
Here's a tip if you get some rain-ex or something similar the rain will shed right off the windows making it a lot easier to see, it also works with sea spray. Happy Sailing don't freeze.
Regarding Sophie's appetite verses up-chucking & having to turn in..out of exhaustion..you described her predicament so sympathetically..provo man ! You two are extremely mature & thoughtful..& quite charming ! Here's a toast..from the seashore town Carmel in central California..a nice Ca. Merlot by Fetzer..& a howling storm runs outside my Tug the camper truck, gusting over 40 ..rocking like the California 60's !
My forfathers sailed from Faroe Islands to Iceland on the way from Norway. Note they did in a open boats, both Viking longboat "Langskip" and logistic ("Knörr). Mostly the "Knörr" was used. Greetings from Iceland
On my first Biscay crossing i puked for 3 days, but by day 4 i was well recovered. Understand how Sohvi was feeling, its very draining. Well done, made good time on that passage considering.
Great job Juho.. I'm so happy the both of you made it to Iceland, all that preparation really paid off. So sorry the beautiful miss Sohvi was not feeling well during the voyage, so be sure to treat her out to a great restaurant to celebrate your successful voyage. Love you both❤, can't wait for the next video.
Well done Sohvi you survived. Looking forward to see Alluring Artic Icelandic adventures. Some Northern Lights would be nice. (Sohvi is missing in first line of channel description.)
Get your crew scopolamine patch 4hr before sailing or 2 dramamine 8 hr before sailing 1 or (2 heavy weather) upon boarding. You will be a sleepyhead. Takes 3 days for some to start enjoy sailing.😊
Great passage and Captain Juho is a professional maneuvering the harbor. Sopvi needs a good pair of Sea Legs. Look forward to you two skiing down a mountain slope.
Great episode because it shows vividly how boat life is on the open ocean and why this particular boat handles most situations so well. I hope the new seasickness pills from Faroes keep you both from that suffering.
Sea sickness is an awful feeling. You go all hot in the head. And it feels your glands in the mouth starts sweating. Next moment you can see what you had for breakfast 😂👍👍
I too am wondering how the rudder modifications worked out. Does she respond better? I expect a horde of tourists to follow you, now that your channel and Sailing Uma are both posting amazing videos of the scenery in Norway and the Arctic islands. Breathtaking stuff! Thanks.
Thank you for sharing my Fin brother👍So sorry Sohvi felt 🤢 I enjoy watching your videos from Cape Cod. Your new boat looks real safe. Can't wait for new videos and stay safe💯🙏
Sorry Sophie, it was a beautiful sail though a bit choppy!!!lol!!! It was a beautiful view tho... Thanks for sharing your life with us an Fare winds an following sea's guy's ✌🏻💗😊❣️
Hei Juho, we bumped into you in Torshavn at Etika in August, the Sushi restaurant out of all places, when you left and we entered. We were in stopover to IS from DE on M/S Norröna with our VW van and my 9yr old son recognized you immediately. "Ist das nicht der alte Segler auf RUclips, der mit den wilden Haaren?" - "Yes, he must have been the arktischer Segler with verrücktem Hair", I said and so we went into Etika to immediately get rejected as we had no reservation, the hotdogs up the street were not bad at the end :-).
I’m sailing to Surtsey when I hit the high seas! All the places that are off limits to anyone but government I will be conquering! I won’t be posting about it but I am certainly going there! The only place I won’t go is Antarctica bc I have no desire to sink hitting a chunk of ice.
"Faroes are suspiciously warm!!!" I suspect only a Finn could say that. Respect to Sohvi, she's a trooper...

He is top one
I felt sorry for Sohvi. It sucks to feel seasick all the time.
Nice job entering the harbor at night!
It's tough being seasick and plus an unfamiliar port, poorly marked, pitch black, and sleep deprived. A lot going on there in a such a short passage. You guys and gals are tough. Good work.
Crazy what you can do when you are young..."it is only two days, I can stay awake". Nice to know you finally set sail!!
Sailing in the arctic circle is a lot more challenging then all the other "good weather sailing" channels. All the best !
Well not really ,All important
Sohvi is a trooper 👍
Thank you both for a 'REAL to LIFE' episode... as always
🤟

Well done Sohvi, it must be awful for you to get so seasick yet you carry on.
Regarding Sophie's appetite verses up-chucking & having to turn in..out of exhaustion..you described her predicament so sympathetically..provo man ! Even half a tablet may do the trick. Best to take first one before you sail.
Great passage and Captain Juho is a professional maneuvering the harbor. Sopvi needs a good pair of Sea Legs. Look forward to you two skiing down a mountain slope.

Shovi is a survivor! Long nights while being sea sick... ROUGH...
Sea sickness is an awful feeling. You go all hot in the head. And it feels your glands in the mouth starts sweating. Next moment you can see what you had for breakfast 😂👍👍

Just found this channel! Love the content. Can’t wait to see more!
Take her where's it's warm like San blas islands in the western Caribbean you'll have a great time 👍😁
Please try the Stugeron sea sickness tablets. They work - as mentioned in other comments.
With seesickness it helps, watching the waterline.
good job, well done

For having just puked Sohvi looks remarkably pretty. I wish you two fair winds!
I’ll come give you a hand. Yea, l know how yucky it is to be seasick. Hopefully she will start getting used to the different motion soon.
I really like that boat 🚢 couldn't think of a better comment but I wanted to leave one to help
