Its understandable how Kwanggyu ajsusshi cannot get used to the tastes and criticize some of dishes, I think its normal and somehow charming in the way. Well-done Taecyeon, you are a down-to-earth person. Everyone country has its PROS and CONS, but lets the positives win over the negatives, we all will feel our lives worth living. Thanks for coming to Vietnam again. I've always imagined a Battle Trip episode in Hanoi, and they did almost everything I wanted them to. If only they had a native who can guide them to better food. Hanoi's food has a kind of pleasant taste that suits everyone. And the nightlife here is awesome as well. The only problem we have is too many people crowding up whenever a celeb visit, it kinda ruins all the vibe.
I think elder ajeossi Gwanggyu's age kind of ruined the Vietnam trip, but I'm glad Taecyeon was able to hold everything down and present the best of Vietnamese culture and food as he could, he's youthful and can resonate with the experience more. I still think this is a trip worth exploring, and most of the food looked very delicious too.
Nearly four years late, but I really enjoyed this episode. I think having Gwanggyu made the program more interesting. He's picky, but he was a good sport, tried everything, and actually enjoyed most of it! But we have Taecyeon to thank for doing so much research and being so open minded. As a Vietnamese American, I'm so impressed that he showed me foods that I really want to try! I've never even tried the egg coffee myself 😂 Taecyeon, you are perfect 💚
For people who said Kwang Kyu made this trip not fun cause he's a picky eater , please note that despite he doesn't like spices he's still try all the foods as it is.. and I don't think he's a picky eater, he just can't bear spices.. just like people who cant eat/enjoy spicy food. For me it actually made the trip more informative, cos if you want to go to Vietnam with your family (elders) then it'll be easier to find the food that fit their taste.. and watching him like that just make me more curious about the food and wants to go to Vietnam
most of the time, having a picky person will make your trip more interesting, challenging and fun. that's what made their trip fun to watch. This made me want to visit Vietnam soon after this pandemic. Stay safe everyone :)
I hope people dont get offended too much by the older man, it's not just Vietnamese food, he's picky to all food even Korean food lol I give him props for actually trying the food and not refusing to taste, it helps other picky eaters out there find out what type of dishes may be right for them.
Vietnam have so many delicious dishes but I want recommend to you some of dishes :) you should eat Bun Bo Hue, Bun Cha, Banh Cuon, Banh Mi,... Next time when you come to Vietnam let try it ❤
I like watching Battle Trip, but this episode was hard to watch because the trip did not suit Gwanggyu's taste and it was overly emphasized throughout the show; a picky eater may not have been the best person to cast for a food trip. Thankfully Taecyeon was able to hold it together and keep an open mind! I hope someday I can go to Vietnam and experience the food myself!

Taecyeon lived in USA, so he got used to eating a variety of food, which is good. Another actor he seems to only strict to Korean taste. I love when people are flexible with food. :)
Ah, the contrast b/w the two is just so funny. Taecyeon acted like the mature one, while Gwanggyu acted like a picky child 🤣. It feels good to see Taeyeon eat well (even though I don't know much about 2PM). He gives off a gentle and friendly demeanor. On the other hand, a lot of people dislike Gwanggyu b/c he is so picky. However, I think the fact that some vietnamese food was enjoyed by some one as picky as him should prove how good the food is.

The day Teacyeon came to Haiphong, where I live, I don't know anything about this until my friend told me. If I had known about this, I wouldn't have regretted not going to see him :(((

I enjoyed watching their trip. I also enjoy watching them on 3 meals a day. I think it is okay that they have different tastes. All the food looked wonderful, however I don't eat seafood. I have a house full of picky eaters. You eventually find something for everyone.
As a Vietnamese myself, I hate green onion so much eventhough people use it in every dish. So I think nothing's wrong when Kwang Kyu cant eat coriander. And the food in the North of Vietnam always has a strong flavor (I prefer Southern food). I think they did a good job to show Vietnamese traditional food here.

As soon as I saw Vietnam I was so excited I think the reason the food was a bit strong in flavor and smell was because they went to the north in southern Vietnam the flavor is toned down a lot so It makes it a lot easier for both locals and foreigners different part of Vietnam have different food. And the first pho they had I would've died too many green onions.
Ta of couse you can eat vietnamese foods without coriander, you should just ask the restaurants before you call the menu, I always eat like that because I hate green onion and coriander too, I really surprise why Qwanggyu didn't order the foods without coriander in there

Bánh đa cua với nhiều ng khá khó ăn đó :D Lần đầu tiên mình ăn thì thấy có vị tanh nên khá khó ăn :D Nên đi Hội An ăn mì quảng và vào trong Miền Tây ăn hủ tiếu :D Hủ tiếu ngon mà còn rẻ hơn cả phở :))))
I wish that Taecyeon went to Vietnam with Park Shin Hye though. If I have to choose, I'd pick pho over udon, but will visit Shikoku, Japan over Hanoi, Vietnam.
As a picky eater, I wouldn’t mind Gwanggyu disliking various dishes because of course, everyone’s taste buds are different. I’m glad he enjoyed some of the dishes. As old as he is, he did try to keep an open mind 😂😂😂I also noticed that he stopped Taecyeon from bargaining the price of the motorbike guys. I’m guessing he knows those guys are poor and they’re doing this for a living, besides it’s pretty cheap so he doesn’t want to bargain. One of the hosts said something about him going through a hardship so I imagine he experienced something similar to those guys.
Actually, I'm a Vietnamese and I don't eat coriander and onion as well. I'm afraid of its taste and smell. So if you can't eat coriander or onion, just tell the waiter/waitress not to put them in your meal.

Frankly Vietnam food has alot of strong herb. I was also having difficulty eating food with the herb or medical smell Veggie. However I am okay with most of the fried food. Everyone has diff taste.

WinWinisacutieanddeserveslove actually the northern flavor is much lighter than the south. The south is known for stronger use of spices and flavors.

I wish that Taecyeon went to Vietnam with Park Shin Hye though. If I have to choose, I'd pick pho over udon, but will visit Shikoku, Japan over Hanoi, Vietnam.
As a picky eater, I wouldn’t mind Gwanggyu disliking various dishes because of course, everyone’s taste buds are different. I’m glad he enjoyed some of the dishes. As old as he is, he did try to keep an open mind 😂😂😂I also noticed that he stopped Taecyeon from bargaining the price of the motorbike guys. I’m guessing he knows those guys are poor and they’re doing this for a living, besides it’s pretty cheap so he doesn’t want to bargain. One of the hosts said something about him going through a hardship so I imagine he experienced something similar to those guys.
Actually, I'm a Vietnamese and I don't eat coriander and onion as well. I'm afraid of its taste and smell.
So if you can't eat coriander or onion, just tell the waiter/waitress not to put them in your meal.

Frankly Vietnam food has alot of strong herb. I was also having difficulty eating food with the herb or medical smell Veggie. However I am okay with most of the fried food. Everyone has diff taste.
