I agree that aespa maybe should have waited a bit before performing on a big stage like coachella especially when they’re fanbase isn’t that big yet. But that doesn’t mean they deserve the hate, they shouldn’t be getting hate when their company was the one who organised this like they didn’t even know till a few days before that they were gonna perform and not just watch…and I mean it wasn’t even that bad it’s just the crowd was dead but the girls tried their best.

The difference is that Blackpink already gained overseas popularity that time, like huge popularity, before doing Coachella. While Aespa was still starting and were still rookies, and people overseas are just starting to get interested at them, but SM rushed them to do Coachella. Honestly, I was actually very happy that they got to perform there especially since they also performed live (still can't get over Ningning's high note in black mamba), but I'm sad to see that SM rushed their performance and there wasn't as much hype with them compared to the other groups and especially (since they are the group most compared to Aespa) Blackpink
BP surely was more famous than Aespa when they first performed at Coachella but not that huge yet, the fanbase wasnt big at all. Coachella is actually the big step taking BP to another level in US. To be honest lot of people still consider kpop in general is music for teenagers so a lot of non kpop audiences in Coachella didnt expect much from a kpop girlgroup but BP ended up being the hottest artists on media that night. So hot Coachella gotta let them be the last performer ending the show in week 2. So the difference also comes from the stage presence.
I was hoping for SM to send RV and/or GG to Coachella. I believe it was too early for aespa, but I guess SM is trying to ride the wave since they're getting international popularity. Still, it was too soon. However, it was an experience that aespa will definitely benefit from since they debuted during the pandemic so this experience with a live crowd will definitely help aespa improve in their future performances.

She's the most prominent all-rounder of her generation and a songwriter who makes this group shine but still, we shall not forget Yuqi's deep voice, Minnie's aura, Miyeon's vocals, and Shuhua's stage presence As a blink, I'll say, It would be pointless to compare the 4th generation to the 3rd one, but we hope these ladies will have a future as bright as their older colleagues. Ningning and Giselle carried the whole group. It's so disappointing to see the main and lead dancer of the group not enjoying the stage at all forget about even matching the energy of the other two members. Aespa's appearance was so short notice, there were very few MYs at the venue. This marked a clear difference in the anticipation and reception levels. Apart from that, it is absolutely unfair to compare idols who are doing one of their first performances in front of a large audience to a veteran group who is at the height of their career. It was filled with blinks but I think a lot of non kpop fans stayed and watched since girlwithbangs or ponytailrapper trended on twitter the next day. I think the biggest difference was one was a featured Blackpink set and the other was just Aespa preforming in a 88rising kpop set. Like it was a kpop concert within the festival. So fans of other kpop performers were in the crowd waiting for their group to perform. If it was just an Aespa featured set than I'm sure they would have had a better crowd. As a Blink this video is pretty lame.

While Aespa was still starting and were still rookies, and people overseas are just starting to get interested at them, but SM rushed them to do Coachella. BP surely was more famous than Aespa when they first performed at Coachella but not that huge yet, the fanbase wasnt big at all. Coachella is actually the big step taking BP to another level in US. To be honest lot of people still consider kpop in general is music for teenagers so a lot of non kpop audiences in Coachella didnt expect much from a kpop girlgroup but BP ended up being the hottest artists on media that night. So hot Coachella gotta let them be the last performer ending the show in week 2. So the difference also comes from the stage presence.
I was hoping for SM to send RV and/or GG to Coachella. I believe it was too early for aespa, but I guess SM is trying to ride the wave since they're getting international popularity. Still, it was too soon. However, it was an experience that aespa will definitely benefit from since they debuted during the pandemic so this experience with a live crowd will definitely help aespa improve in their future performances.

Ningning and Giselle carried the whole group. It's so disappointing to see the main and lead dancer of the group not enjoying the stage at all forget about even matching the energy of the other two members. I think the biggest difference was one was a featured Blackpink set and the other was just Aespa preforming in a 88rising kpop set. Like it was a kpop concert within the festival. So fans of other kpop performers were in the crowd waiting for their group to perform. If it was just an Aespa featured set than I'm sure they would have had a better crowd.
