There’s something off about the way the lead singer is singing telephone line something sounds off .Its not the fact that it’s not Jeff Lynne singing

Joy uses a very different folky style, I think.

The lead singer is pretty good sounds a little like the late great Kelly Growcutt who Bev was a band mates with in Electric Light Orchestra.(the guy on guitar )

It's Phil Bates who was in ELO part II with Bev and Kelly. He has left Quill now; they have a few replacement members.
