- Overlanding Travel in Botswana - a camping road trip.
In Part 5 of our Big Botswana Baecation travel vlog, we depart from Moremi and head to Maun to get our battery sorted. From there, it's smooth sailing on to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park on the Boteti River. Though, we make the gate with minutes to spare.
As we set up camp at Khumaga, the light disappears. We spend a wonderful relaxing morning at camp the next day, not expecting to see much wildlife or action in this park. We only head out on a game drive in the very late afternoon, and find ourselves quite amazed by what turns out to be large herds of wildlife all along the Boteti River. Our visit at this part of the Makgadikgadi National Park is nothing at all like our previous experience of the salt pans, where we got properly stuck (and extremely lost) in the middle of the Sua Pans.
Southward of the gate, it's not very well maintained and there's not much to see. But northward, and driving in the Boteti River bank, is absolutely worth it.
We also discover a slender mongoose den, and get to watch a mom and her two pups for quite a while. A truly special sighting.
All in all, an amazing stay at the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, and as we head out, we see our first mass of clouds on the horison, toward our next destination, the Nxai Pans National Park. Seems the rainy season is finally upon us! But more on that next time.

Beautiful video my friend, you showed everything that I will never experience, beautiful animals, landscape and people, you are a phenomenal man, who sends kindness and love from Africa to the world, thank you for the video, best regards to you and your entourage Branimir.
Thank you for that wonderful message 🙏🏽
Awesome video guys! Been looking forward to your next video upload and as always you did not disappoint.🙌 Looking forward to our first Botswana trip in July 😎
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Botswana really is fantastic, I'm sure you'll have an amazing time.
Howzit Gig! Those little booster battery thingys are a waste. A good set of jumper leads are a must. It was classic watching Laura with the fire extinguisher 😁 Great job again guys❤
Hi Trevor. Yes those jumper cables definitely saved our butts. The auto electrician had a booster which worked really well. He said he uses it on trucks. It's on my wish list (I have a long wishlist 😆). Thanks for the positive feedback!
Jambo Bwana! Enjoyed this series... learning curve!
Jambo! Glad you're enjoying the channel 👍🏾
Amazing Botswana n happy travelers ❤
Thanks. It's a beautiful country to explore 👌🏾
Hi my fiend! Another great video that makes me keen for my own adventure trip. Start is in less than three month and then I will see it with my own eyes.
Thanks! What a wonderful place to explore. I hope the remaining 3 months for your trip go by quickly.
nice one bro! that elephant had 4 and half legs! LOL!!
😂😂😂
Beautiful video once again. Makgadikgadi (Khumaga side) is not as well known as the Moremi area but just as rich in biodiversity. It hosts one of the biggest zebra migrations in the world..
Very beautiful! We were pleasantly surprised. It was very different to our adventure to Kubu Island a few years ago.
@@TravelGigolo It is very different. Next time try visiting the area around May-July and enjoy the zebra migration
