An epic tale has been dwelling in my mind, and this song gave it words. Rivals meet on a battlefield. One is the King's warrior son, he wields a blood soaked katana, the other, is a lowly vassal, sworn to a now broken house, he wields a battered tower shield and a scarred sword. Those who control the shadows, are merely simulating a much greater light. They have conquered the art of lying, to take advantage of the darkness within us all. But the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness comprehends it not. Because greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.
We stray towards the light. The blood of our ancestors instills a misguided fear of the unknown black into us. But who truly knows the dark? Has anyone ever listened to what the darkness has to say? We all run from it, hide from it. How are we to know the darkness if we dare not to look it in the eye? The specters of the dark do not lie as the heralds of the light do, they see no reason for it. Hiding the truth does not make it untrue. That is why those who embrace the dark and know the black are so often ignored, and the only ones left standing at the end of all things.
Where there is light, there also exists shadows. They are lurking, waiting for their time. Sometimes we don't notice them, but they are always there, a dancing darkness that makes no sound. No one could understand shadows. None except one boy. He lived among the shadows, spoke with them, and understood them. In exchange, the shadows stuck with him and protected him, granting him the gift of darkness. He wasn't evil. Neither was he good. He was simply a boy who once lived among us, but now lived with the shadows, in a world unlike our own. The only one who has ever existed and will ever exist as the master of shadows.

"Is that so..." I say as my foes look at me defiantly. "You want to kill me. Heh. It's not like I didn't expect this or anything. It's just, well, with this small army, I expected something more." "You know full well what else it is we want!" Carcelon, my old master, now my fiercest enemy, shouts. "We also want your power. But we can't extract it from you unless your body no longer has any life in it." "Well, since I'm not prepared to die today, I guess I'll have to fight," I say, feigning a reluctance I didn't feel. In truth, I had been waiting for this day, the day when I could finally have a chance to fight Carcelon, after he left me for dead, severely wounded, out in the middle of the woods. Yet I survived, and trained on my own. I slowly draw my black-bladed sword from it's sheath, holding it at a downward angle. "Pfft. What good is a single sword against my 'small army,' as you say?" he asks, clearly unimpressed by the sight of my sword. But nervous murmurs start to emanate from the crowd before me. I grin, knowing what those whispers are about. "Oh," I say, now feigning surprise, "perhaps you don't recognize this blade? I'm sure you know about it." In truth, Carcelon was the one who told me about it. But he told me stories of many legendary blades. This one in particular, however, stuck in my memory. Carcelon now starts to look nervous, as if he's realizing what blade I hold. I tilt it slightly, to reflect the sunlight. Then, one of Carcelon's soldiers, the one closest to him, gasps. "It's the legendary blade, sir! The Sl-" "The Sliver of Midnight." I finish for him. "Said to have been forged from the pieces of the night sky that supposedly few during the Void Nights 85 years ago." The crowd before me stirs in fear, mumbling and whispering of what they've heard the sword can do. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them at the back, where I can't see, just fled. "Now," I say as I raise my sword above my head. "Let's see what it can do!" I begin swinging it around a bit, charging it's power, and with each stroke, the sky darkens as clouds appear until eventually, a bolt of black lightning streaks from the sky, hitting the tip of my blade as I thrust it point-first into the sky. Dark lightning begins flickering around my blade, and I stab it down into the ground. Then I raise my hand above my head. The dark energy my blade absorbed from the lightning steaks towards my hand from the pommel. Slowly, a sphere of dark evergy begins to grow in my hand, eventually larger than me. I point my hand at the opposing army, and the dark sphere condenses itself, to the size of a grain of rice, before I blast it at my foes. Just as it impacts, gravity seems to shift towards the center of impact, the world blurs, and time seems to slow down. Then it explodes, darkness filling my vision, as the shockwave seems to reverse the pull of the dark energy. As the wind dies down and my vision clears, a large section of the army in on the ground, unconscious or dead. Carcelon, who somehow survived unscathed, looks at the devastation, then back at me. "How," he asks, clearly surprised and impressed at the carnage. "I believe I told you, right before you tried to kill me. I am, the Master of Shadows, and darkness is my weapon." I pull my sword from the ground and charge at the remains of the army.
The light and the shadow, one contradicts the other. The light...always believed to be filled with truth, hope and love...but, there are times where the very light can also be filled with lies, misery and hate. Too bright for the people to realise. At times like these does the shadow...will rise; dimming the light... for the people to see the truth; through which justice is served.

Darkness arose from a cliff not to far. Soaring black ashes filled the sky. Joining even the weak could fly. From what was said, From what was written. There he stood. Everyone's making poems? Welp, here's mine! He stood amongst the stars, and filled the air with his cries: "Your gods have forsaken you!" and: "From the night, my army will rise!" As the clouds turned to smog, and the stars dimmed their glow. The people bowed to their new God, and watched the shadows grow. As the world was torn apart, and Paradise became Hell, Darkness entered everyone's heart, As they were bewitched by his spell. Yet a small, brave few, stood amidst the ruins of their home, They must fight, they knew. or the world wouldst be a catacomb. They shout, they cry, cursing the very sky. "The Shadow-God's hunger is vociferous! "Please Oh Mighty god. Please deliver us!" The Dark God watched them, These peasants who defied his power. They would be cut off at the stem, He would kill them in their last hour. For their gods lay dead, by Darkness's own stead, they were killed by pure dread, Of him and his might, and plan to bring everlasting night. I thought of two characters in an epic battle, their names, Angel Wing, and Heart Bless (which he's now consumed by Angel Wing's brother Dark Wing) This is how the battle goes according to song: beginning of song (0:00): Angel Wing: Heart! This doesn't feel shadowy at all. I'm sorry, but if you want to make a shadowy battle theme, it could be primarily soft and quiet and soothing. Lull you with creepy tones and dark melodies, and then pick up tempo when a character would go for a killing blow. This might as well be any generic out in the open battle, no shadows here.
HDSounDI It's quite possible, I assure you. Any classically styled Japanese or "ninja" music could fit nicely, depending on the tone. Or an example would be Into Darkness by Thomas Bergenson which somewhat matches the description that this person describes. There's music for everything.
I can see what the guy refers to. This song is still really really cool though. I guess he refers to something like the Akatsuki's themes from Naruto Shippuden that are really creepy but also tent to be a bit soft but also creepy and macabre. The chant helps alot.

"Is that so..." I say as my foes look at me defiantly. "You want to kill me. Heh. It's not like I didn't expect this or anything. It's just, well, with this small army, I expected something more."
"You know full well what else it is we want!" Carcelon, my old master, now my fiercest enemy, shouts. "We also want your power. But we can't extract it from you unless your body no longer has any life in it."
"Well, since I'm not prepared to die today, I guess I'll have to fight," I say, feigning a reluctance I didn't feel. In truth, I had been waiting for this day, the day when I could finally have a chance to fight Carcelon, after he left me for dead, severely wounded, out in the middle of the woods. Yet I survived, and trained on my own. I slowly draw my black-bladed sword from it's sheath, holding it at a downward angle.
"Pfft. What good is a single sword against my 'small army,' as you say?" he asks, clearly unimpressed by the sight of my sword. But nervous murmurs start to emanate from the crowd before me. I grin, knowing what those whispers are about.
"Oh," I say, now feigning surprise, "perhaps you don't recognize this blade? I'm sure you know about it." In truth, Carcelon was the one who told me about it. But he told me stories of many legendary blades. This one in particular, however, stuck in my memory.
Carcelon now starts to look nervous, as if he's realizing what blade I hold. I tilt it slightly, to reflect the sunlight. Then, one of Carcelon's soldiers, the one closest to him, gasps.
"It's the legendary blade, sir! The Sl-"
"The Sliver of Midnight." I finish for him. "Said to have been forged from the pieces of the night sky that supposedly few during the Void Nights 85 years ago."
The crowd before me stirs in fear, mumbling and whispering of what they've heard the sword can do. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them at the back, where I can't see, just fled.
"Now," I say as I raise my sword above my head. "Let's see what it can do!"
I begin swinging it around a bit, charging it's power, and with each stroke, the sky darkens as clouds appear until eventually, a bolt of black lightning streaks from the sky, hitting the tip of my blade as I thrust it point-first into the sky. Dark lightning begins flickering around my blade, and I stab it down into the ground. Then I raise my hand above my head. The dark energy my blade absorbed from the lightning steaks towards my hand from the pommel. Slowly, a sphere of dark evergy begins to grow in my hand, eventually larger than me. I point my hand at the opposing army, and the dark sphere condenses itself, to the size of a grain of rice, before I blast it at my foes. Just as it impacts, gravity seems to shift towards the center of impact, the world blurs, and time seems to slow down. Then it explodes, darkness filling my vision, as the shockwave seems to reverse the pull of the dark energy. As the wind dies down and my vision clears, a large section of the army in on the ground, unconscious or dead. Carcelon, who somehow survived unscathed, looks at the devastation, then back at me.
"How," he asks, clearly surprised and impressed at the carnage.
"I believe I told you, right before you tried to kill me. I am, the Master of Shadows, and darkness is my weapon."
I pull my sword from the ground and charge at the remains of the army.

The light and the shadow, one contradicts the other. The light...always believed to be filled with truth, hope and love...but, there are times where the very light can also be filled with lies, misery and hate. Too bright for the people to realise. At times like these does the shadow...will rise; dimming the light... for the people to see the truth; through which justice is served.

I thought of two characters in an epic battle, their names, Angel Wing, and Heart Bless (which he's now consumed by Angel Wing's brother Dark Wing) This is how the battle goes according to song:

Dark Wing: It's too late! My spirit has now consumed this vessel and I have come back to take over this wretched world and when I awake my army of darkness, we will have victory.

Dark Wing: You!?! Brother, Please! If you want to be honest with yourself, the darkness has already won.
Angel Wing: No! All my life I have wondered why I have been brought to this world and why nobody gave me a chance. power surges these two powerhouses as the earth shakes from each collision. Light and darkness flood the skies as the forces of time and space warp around the two warriors. Blood sheds its face both the warriors as they now re reaching their peaks. Thunder clashes, lightning flashes, the world all on a prayer. then at the peak of the moment Angel flies into the clouds to bring the final blow.
End (2:03):
Angel Wing dives and brings down with the final blow that hit Dark Wing and completely disintegrated him, leaving only a pile of ash and the tears that Angel Wing wept.

This doesn't feel shadowy at all. I'm sorry, but if you want to make a shadowy battle theme, it could be primarily soft and quiet and soothing. Lull you with creepy tones and dark melodies, and then pick up tempo when a character would go for a killing blow.
This might as well be any generic out in the open battle, no shadows here.

It's quite possible, I assure you. Any classically styled Japanese or "ninja" music could fit nicely, depending on the tone.
Or an example would be Into Darkness by Thomas Bergenson which somewhat matches the description that this person describes.

I can see what the guy refers to. This song is still really really cool though.
I guess he refers to something like the Akatsuki's themes from Naruto Shippuden that are really creepy but also tent to be a bit soft but also creepy and macabre. The chant helps alot.

The master of shadows is a person who has conquered the darkness within them. Sorta like Riku from Kingdom Hearts. Between him (the master of shadows) and Sora (the hero of worlds) he is the only one who shows the mark of mastery, and is named keyblade master.
