Smokey is still insisting on having babies. Once she abandons these I will bring her in to get an anti-hormone shot. Cuz what kind of life is that to always be on eggs. Koolaid protects her fiercely and also gets turned away!

they're both so fluffy.
having kids hasnt given them the time to preen, lol
Awww it sounds like Koolaid is explaining the situation to you at 2:40
Smokey said go away koolaid leave my fake eggs alone
My goodness!! That was one heck of a marital squabble they had LOL
Smokey is very protective over those eggs even though their fake.
xD
I love watching Smokey.
They're so adorable ♥
yes he is protecting the 'nest' & smokey
I love parrots. They aresoo funny and cute!
If you had a traveling meet and greet, I know that I'd gladly pay for the privelege of seeing your birds in person!
Awww. Koolaid is a great Daddy! And Smokey a great Mommy!
really..ya they are so funny but it's stressful at the same time. I guess we have to let them do some stuff that happens in nature but also protect them from overdoing it.
It’s so hard to see Koolaid and Smokey think that the eggs are real when they are fake and will never hatch.
You have amazing birds. Love to watch them. Expecialy Bowie...
Koolaid is like, “Can’t a fella coo his bird without getting interrupted?”! 😂😂😂
All your birds are adorable
Great video. Poor Koolaid wants more babies! If you were to let them breed, the little girl that sent you the sweet email perhaps could take the babies???? Every what happens I know you will do the best for your birds. You are such a wonderful birdie Mommy. Thank you for sharing your cute, and sometimes moody, babies. You know, I thought Bowie had just turned 4. Oh well, there I go trying to think again!
oh I know right, it gives me time to just have fun with them instead of always worrying about keeping babies alive & healthy etc etc. but either way, any way, birds are a lot of work in general & we worry about everything about them lol
poor Smokey and Koolaid
Not a dumb question, she will still be able to have babies, but the hormone shot will hopefully keep her from doing 'mama' stuff for a few months.
Cuteness 😍😍😍
sooo cute birdies *__*
This is so cute
oh thank you!!
Poor Smokey
a few weeks ago, my beloved budgie Willi died. :( I'm very sad and miss I'm so much.... I think I'm going to get 2 parrots like Kloolaid and smokey :)
I think you're right. Reason why Koolaid tossed the fake ones out last year & I succumbed to his pressure :/ Not this time! lol.
Koolaid looks really incensed when mistress said no more babies he looks like he’s ready to explode from the no more babies decree
@Michelle Harding maybe perch a nestbox in the top corner ..I purchased a piece of wood with 2 screws in it, just to support my parrotlets' nest.
Anti-hormone shot? I wish I knew those existed. We had a parrotlet that wouldn't stop laying eggs and crapping in her water [therefore poisoning herself] to hide her eggs, and the behavior eventually killed her...
you're welcome!
hahaha i know right.
She says I don't care if their fake eggs, they're my eggs!
haha it does sound like that:)
Where did you get their pink tent? My parrotlet would "Love" a tent like that!
he was like i saw them i saw the babies where are they
it's just wet...he had a shower :p
This is what you get to be in couple ! :)
Koolaid is getting big by the way, making him even more fluffier, I kinda like it.
What about Bee ? When will he come back ?
LOL its weird how smokey is 3 and koolaid is 4 and they have kids.. :P
They both seem to be under so much stress which is sad because, for Smokey at least, the need to nest is obviously driving her on but is not making her very happy. Yeah for hormone shots huh?
Muy lindos
Gracias Rondador
Asi jajajaja te gusto el video. me alegra mucho que te guste amigo Rondador
Hola y me da mucho gusto volver a verte amiga ..saludos. ..y buenas noches ...Lillaiam Solera ...😄💋
igualmente amigo buenas noches Jose
@chihuahuabulldog Thank u Ann :) I have thought of sending koolaid and smokey to her :p they are a lot of work though, and I can't separate thm either they would be so heart broken for each other
Pacific Parrotlet
BooBoo looks like he's sportin' a little toupee...heheh :-)
Where did you get the fake eggs from? My parrotlet hen constantly lays blanks. My cockatiel used to be on hormone shots but they only lasted one month at a time - I had to keep going back and that's not an option for me right now with my little parrotlet....
Possibly!
yup :)
thank u
Nothing...he just came out of the shower & was sporting a spike-hairdo so I had to take a pic :p
ohhh i never knew he had black feathers :P
Thank you 4 sharing. Do you think the fake eggs helped to shorten or mellow out the hormonal cycle?
where di you get your parrotlets? theyre so cute!!!!!
Will fake eggs prevent the birds from laying real ones?
RIP
you should tell them not to argue in front of the fake kids....
Supernormal stimulus.
huhi bjudi fer😍😍
Is it normal for a male to sit on and protect eggs? I have a female and a male cockatiel, and the female will just lay an egg and then leave it! The male will then sit on the egg or near the egg and get very protective... is that normal?
Aw. So cute. :)

Brenda Baker I'm really late to reply, but you can just search for a breeder near you, or try Birds Of A Feather, boaf.com.
@@MorphineSulphateIRI might check that out
@Erin Kathryn with some birds, yes.
@phoenixsonoma Haha
@MsMurray1991 LOL hilarious
@RawrrAnimal Yay!
what type of parrotlet koolaid is?
Booboo's so handsome ! LOL. Oh my, youve had Kiwi for 6 years! While i was playing this my new cockatiel kept chirping at the screen (:. Any idea how to tame him so he can join my parakeets? I dont want him stuck in a tiny cage.
the males don't usually sit on the eggs but some do. silly question, but you are sure it's a male?
my budgie is laying eggs she has a boy so they are firtell but she lays them high up in the cage and they fall and crack do you have any suggestions?
:)
i noticed that Koolaids blue colours have become more pastel toned. Just outa curiosity, do parrotlet species such as him fade as thy get older?
Smokey and Koolaid r so cute 2gether, i loved ur update vid on Smokey da other day, Koolaids lil dance was adorable lol 😄
Is he searching for food or something to play with? I can't say. everytime smokey & koolaid go on the floor is to search out a 'nest'...which they're not gonna find but they think it's in the garbage where all the tissue is ;)
thanks for watching my vids:) I can't see any of your videos on yor channel?...
I'm little confused. I've seen you hold bird eggs before and you said in a video that your birds are tame enough to let you handle the eggs, but every time I see Kool Aid in a video where a nest or eggs are involved he opens his mouth as in motion to try to bite. A'm I just reading him wrong or does he see you as a threat to his nest? I'm really curious because he is so calm around you in his other videos
@c1sora oh I'm so sorry :(
I have never seen a parakeet that was just yellow and green
Those aren't parakeets. Those are parrotlets.
@megaconure From a local breeder in Vancouver BC
@thesoothingsurf Hahaha
should get rid of the tent if you don't want eggs
Is bee a male budgie ?
why no more babies?
How old is koolaid?
... that is a good question.... I don't know for sure, both birds came from an animal rescue, not a breeder, so I am not 100% sure of their genders...
are koolaid and smokey mated?
oh so you put in fake eggs so smokey will think they're real because she still wants babies?
Why do you pit the fake eggs in there does it keep Smokey calm or something
My male parrotlets killed my female while on vacation because she wasn’t ready to mate. He put her eyes out.
AWW! FAKE EGGS, poor thing!!!
Amanda S | They're actually much better for the birds than real eggs, especially if the hen wasn't supposed to lay eggs, which I believe is the case for this video, though it might not be. The hormones that triggered the hen to lay unwanted eggs (that take a lot of vital nutrients from her body and often kill most hens) or be such a bad parent, the breeders won't let them raise chicks. The fake eggs trick the parents long enough to prevent more eggs from being laid. So, they're unfortunate to not have any real, fertile eggs, yes, but the breeders are saving the mother's life.
Why they always have the urge to keep breeding? :/
rizzt007 Because that's what animals do. They reproduce.
+rizzt007 And because they've been BRED to breed. Unfortunately. Some bird species will breed themselves to death, these days... I speak from experience
Fake eggs. XD It seems like a waste of energy, but not to the birds....
dont give them fake eggs... in case they develop affection for them and of course nothing will happen they are fake
Anomaly1111 she had to take her real ones away she had an egg stuck in her so she had to stop breeding
Anomaly1111 | That's not really how it works. Birds are used to laying infertile clutches all the time and though they may try to mother an unusual egg (if they notice they're extremely unusual, they will kill it), they won't grieve to death over a fake egg. The fake eggs are actually *saving* the mother's life!
Such a terrible response. They will keep reproducing & she'll keep trying to lay eggs. That can kill her. They are not humans. They behave on pure instinct.
You're white bird looks a bit ruffled is she sick? Perhaps she needs to see a vet.
+Kathy S. I have seen that before, they just do that while sitting on eggs. Its to cover them as much as possible
+Kathy S. It's a nesting habit.
+Julianne Roe Oh okay. Thank you for your answer. : )
+Jenn Alvord I'm glad to know that this is normal. Thanks for your reply. : )
