it was november 2015, i was in 6th grade and black friday was around, my mom took me to verizon and she got be the gold s6 edge plus. We didnt often buy expensive things like that so it was a blessing. From the s6 then to s8, then s20, now s23+. I'm always fascinated on how samsung stepped up their game since then, and how samsung used to be this phone that got super laggy over the years, to a true premium phone that doesnt lag anymore, and will stay like that for years.

My first ever flagship phone I owned as a Galaxy S8, and it was used, and was about 2 years old at the time. I switched from my Alcatel phone, shouldn't need to say why, but that S8 was really something else, and I loved it even though it had slight screen burn when I bought it one small area in the lower half of the screen. I replaced that S8 a few years later with the S10+ which I am currently typing this out on, but I did have an S22 Ultra for about a week recently, but had to send it back because it had screen burn, and for the price I paid for it, it wasn't worth having the screen replaced because at that point I would have spent the same amount of money to have simply bought a brand new one. Within the next few weeks though, I plan to have a Galaxy S23 Ultra, and this old S10+ will no longer be a daily driver phone, but be used for some things here and there.

    1. My first was a mixed bag: I had a S3 Triband in 2014, but by the time that version came out, the S3 as a whole was already two years out from being a flagship, as the S5 was the current one. So technically, it wasn't a flagship anymore. Eventually had to "sidegrade" to a J3 Emerge before upgrading to an S7...then a Note8...then the S10+...and now my S22 Ultra & A32 5G.
    2. You, sir, are a braaave man. The S6 family was Samsung's first effort to ditch the micro SD card that met with massive backlash. Me personally, I would prefer the Note5, but the only way I would get it is if it was the penultimate proverbial white whale: the 128GB version, which was the top tier storage option back then...and has been nearly impossible to find for years after the fact.

I've replaced my S6 Plus with other phones over time, however I have used the S6 in electronics repair/assembly work as a poor man's digital microscope. The camera on this phone in microscope work in high zoom is exceptional in quality. Since the S6 I've had S9, S20 and currently S21. None of those newer and 'better' phones have a camera that gives such image quality with low noise. They have noise through the roof and their image is not sharp like the S6. It has been rocking in this kind of work for a good half a decade and still working well. If it would happen to break, I will buy another S6 Plus to replace it.
