100%! I'm paring down my beautytube to people whose content supports my lifestyle & goals. Even the most delightful personality is not worth a view if it makes it hard for me to achieve my goals. I'm sticking with creators who aren't salespeople! I love that even when Angela demos high end palettes, she makes it easy to find the corresponding shades we already own.

Everything you said makes perfect. Most of us would only be getting a 10 percent discount, which isn't all that fantastic. I also agree with putting something in your "loves", instead of your cart, and think about it. I find that when I do that, I very often realize that it is a product I really don't need.
I haven't bothered with the Sephora "sale" since they stopped giving everyone 20% off. Especially this time of year, when there are MUCH better sales coming, with Black Friday and holiday offerings.
I just let a 20% off (including prestige) ULTA coupon expire without using it, partly because I was annoyed that it was only good for three days. Partly because I was going to use it on the Hourglass Jellyfish palette, and that was the one that disappeared off the website 🤔 So I broke out my old Hourglass blush and finishing powder trios, and realized they're still awesome and I should just be using those again! 😎
2024 will be the year of shopping my stash.
Yessss I’ve been trying to use my hourglass lighting trio as well! I always want one of the big holiday palettes but I’m also working on a blush quad that I bought from them like 3-4 years ago. Hourglass powders last FOREVER

I've purged my Sephora wish list, and some I transferred to Ulta and some to beautylish. I am not buying anything from the sale (or Sephora at all). The company cut their rewards program to nothing, and I've had one too many bad experiences in the store. The last item I will purchase is Xenon (Beautylish), and I am going on a no buy. The pandemic really caused a backup, so I need to get through (and enjoy) what I have. ❤
I’ve transferred some things I want to Ulta too!! I agree their point system is 1000000x better but for some reason I HATE how the Ulta app is laid out 😂 So I’ve been “browsing” on Sephora but actually purchasing from Ulta. And Ulta tends to do more free gift with purchase

Thank you! This is such a refreshing and more realistic video. At least for the viewers out there who are not influencers who make a living through owning a ton of make up, whether gifted or bought with their own money. I love watching beauty videos on RUclips, but I am about ready to Unfollow most of the channels I love to watch because it just makes me want more stuff, which I do not need, and I don’t like living my life in a constant state of dissatisfaction, fomo, and greed.
I absolutely love that you do multiple videos using the same pallets (often but not always older palettes that many of us already have) rather than doing a review of the brand new launch that you got sent in PR. Totally fine for you to do whatever you want with your channel, but I as a consumer and as a fan of yours really appreciate how you find ways to show your love to your existing beauty stash instead of always focusing on getting the newest launches which, let’s face it, in the beauty world there are multiple new launches every single week and it gets really tiresome
I totally agree some RUclipsrs make it seem like you NEED to go out and buy every new launch, but that’s just not the case!
Thank you! Ulta put out a 20% off the other day and I was literally searching for something to buy just for the discount. I was so proud of myself when I didn't make a purchase! I need to be much more careful and only replenish things I love or get things I'm excited about (new palettes etc). 😊
You made a really good point about the colors in a set and whether or not you would use them all. I try to look at eye palettes the same way.
I really appreciate your candor and perspective; this was such a refreshing video ahead of the sale. I'll also never forget the time I was adding things to my list a few days before the sale some years back, only to see they had increased prices on some items riiiiight as the sale started 👎

This was a very refreshing video. I was upset at Sephora during their last sale because by the time they got to the days I could order w/a discount, a lot of the things I wanted were sold out. That's bad preparation. The least they could have done was offer to hold an order and fill it at the sale price. And I'm talking about Sephora brand items as well! And wanting the to use my discount for a "splurge" item wasn't possible because not all brands were discounted. So I bought nothing from them. The sales that I've caught on the Hour Glass, Juvia's Place and Merit sites were better, just as you stated. Your eyes look pretty today. Wish I could pull that off. But I'm blonde so . . . I made a rule after a year or so ago to never buy anything, not on sale. If you can wait a month or two after something launches, you can get the same thing for less. Sometimes, it is hard, especially if it is limited addition, but generally speaking, wait. You'll save.

I love this video. I have nothing in my cart and I'm rouge... That's a big thing for me 😊. And definitely smell the Kayali ouds first, I ordered 10ml of each... They were not what I was expecting... Not totally bad but also none was a LOVE either.

LOVE THIS! I’m VIB at Sephora and was just wanting to look online to perhaps buy a couple Sephora Collection items and I get a black screen with a message stating the online traffic is too high and that it will refresh every 60 seconds and let shoppers in. So even if I was Rouge, I wouldn’t be able to shop? As it is I was just wanting to shop Sephora Collection. A complete joke and laughable in my opinion. Plus they have made the sale dates for the two lower tiers the same. All of this may be the push I need to completely stop shopping from Sephora.

Hauls are always fun to watch! I really like this video! I am so much saner about what I buy because of your advice about not buying so impulsively. I now shop my stash before I buy as well. I've been wanting to purchase the Natasha Denona stuff that's come out. I wanted the whole Sigma Beauty and the Beast set! There are some amazing sets at Macy's that I really want. I keep stopping myself and asking, do you need this? And how often will you use this? I figure, if I miss out by waiting, it wasn't meant to be. I just use these sales to restock my skincare lol 20% off a $68 moisturizer and $50 item so on it helps! I've skipped a couple sales but only like 2 since 2017 lol I do find in store I am way more critical in my thinking on buying and don't want to spend any money but online is so much harder for me for some reason.. but putting things in my love list I tend to forget and then some time goes by and I think man I'm glad I dodged that bullet so that's a great idea!! 💜
I’m new here… you are stunning! Great video. I’m defo thinking harder about any purchases. I skip palettes that have even just one shade I’m not so keen on, and use a discount code on anything I do buy. I debated on getting the ND I need a nude, but so glad I skipped it, as then she brought out the Xenon, which suits my colouring much better! But it’s a real treat and will prob be the only high end makeup I buy this whole year.
Omg yes, i was wanting the summer fridays cloud cream so much… until i tried it in store. I was really underwhelmed and it has no scent at all and wasn’t anything special. For me a fragrance done well can really make the experience so much more enjoyable. It just didn’t excite me like I’d imagined. I need to do that more often. Instead of buying stuff online, go in store and try it first. Great video!

Thank you. I think we all have to be mindful of wants and needs. We should think about the value of the sale and the value to our lives. I tend to get basics and I concentrate on skin care and hair care. It doesn’t always make sense to shop Black Friday sales either. Do you buy enough from one vendor to warrant the shipping or need enough to get free shipping or the level of a discount?
Same I will restock some favorite skincare for sure. And that’s a good point about the shipping cost and everything!

He bought me the large 138.00 one and it’s coming this week before my birthday. I’ve never smelled it and really taking a chance because I’ve heard so many people rave about it. I use the sephora sale to get Christmas gifts and the items I use on a daily basis, like dry shampoo. And maybe one new item to try. I put a $300 limit on myself, which is pretty good for Christmas shopping.

I waited until Black Friday last year and it’s true, the sales are much better and so was the Rakuten cash back. But you know, you’re so right about buying stuff you later don’t get much use out of it don’t like. I feel like the hype gets so built up online about some products, some of which are sponsored, and then you’re stuck with a lot of money out of your account.

10% off is a joke especially if you live in So Cal. I stopped buying at sephora since their rewards program isn't really rewarding. I went from VIB to just insider status, and I don't care. There's so much competition for sales that sephora just doesn't cut it anymore. I also dislike going in person since their stores always have the most snobby sales associates I've ever encountered.
With that being said, I only purchase a couple of items each year.

The Sephora sale is a joke. You can get 30-40% off most everything they have from the actual brand websites, Skinstore, Dermstore, etc. I don’t get the hype.
