I bought a one day park ticket and it allowed me to purchase genie + when I purchased the tickets at Disneyland’s website. My tickets with genie + are linked to my app, but will I need to wait till I am scanned in and enter the park to do genie +? Sorry this is my first time using genie +.

Yes you have to be scanned into the park before you can make your first selection!
