J.S. Bach wrote six concertos for two to four harpsichords. Most of them are arrangements of his own music. The concerto for four harpsichords is based on Vivaldi’s concerto for four violins. Still this is the real Bach in all his orchestral splendour. It is hard not to be affected by this music, especially in such persuasive performances.
Sowing machines or musical instruments? Today, in the era of (copies of) period instruments harpsichords cannot be mistaken for machines any more. Not even when four of them are playing simultaneously.

It is amazing and incomprehensible the amount and quality of work Bach produced during his life. All the successors and followers benefited from it. All of them had the highest appreciation of his creations. Beethoven once said "his name should creek (Bach in german means creek) but rather ocean.

I've never heard of harpsichord concertos. Great stuff.
The music is fantastic; the performance also great! Yet, I would prefer some parts a little bit slower. This speed shows virtuosity, but the brilliant intricacy of the music is sometimes somewhat overshadowed…
