    To any tennis players here, pay attention to Zverev (6ft 5"/198cm), 2m behind baseline, returning Rafa forehands ABOVE HIS HEAD. I can't think of anything more exhausting than playing against that.

    • @bsrussian
      @bsrussian 2 года назад +9

      Well tbf, look at his hitting against Shapovalov, nowhere near as high. You can clearly see the first ball was not only a mishit, but he was trying to hit it extra high, almost like moonballs. Those are not his regular forehands lmfao, they're much slower and easier to return, and he did.

    • @martinpaniceres8352
      @martinpaniceres8352 Год назад +1

      @@hello-mv6yg What does one thing has to do with the other? Do you think that what Djokovic and Federer do, as well as Davydenko, is easy to do? You have to play on the line and not giving the ball time to rise, which requires you to be very good in timing, it is the most difficult way to play tennis, everyone says it and Nadal himself. It's very difficult to play like that and you make a lot of errors, that's why against Nadal on clay they didn't have much success and Nadal won most of the matches. On hard court or grass the ball bounce less, it's another story and that's why both Djokovic and Federer led in the matches against him on that surfaces.

      winning =/= prime

    • @patrikmarflak6559
      @patrikmarflak6559 2 года назад

      @@lotus630 I know what is prime of someone's career, but Nadal is not really regressing, his form has been amazing so far this year. Obviously he is not at his best physically, no one can stop the aging and injuries don't help either. But the maturity, ability to adapt to different game scenarios and mental side of his game make it up and he might have one of the top years in his career, just like Djokovic last year.
      I don't like the conventional concept of "prime", it really doesn't mean much in case of these players. I'd rather say there are different phases of "prime", obviously the 20's are more about physical side of the game, but these guys are still super strong and with the experience and mental toughness they are on a totally different level of "prime". Nadal can do almost anything he wants to do on the court, so it really doesn't make much sense to comment on a video saying he is "well past his prime" like he was not one of the best anymore. C'mon, he's been beating top players, who are supposed to be in their "prime" right now.

    What's very interesting to me is that they play MUCH harder in training, except for a few players, who seem to play to the same level in matches (eg Alcarez, Musetti).
    It means players who are prepared to really hit their shots hard in matches do have a chance to beat the big players, but its very risky (eg Kyrgios). They also need to have great technique, and highly developed weapons.
