Thanks for the lovely comment and thank you for watching my channel. It really does mean a lot that my videos are helpful for you! Hehe Monty is my favourite 😻 I’m sorry about your loss.
Best of luck with your masters program! It’s hard to not feel overwhelmed but the field is so big and nobody can learn everything! I’ll add that topic to my to do list, thanks 💖
I am a biotech/genetics major who messed up the first two years of uni and coudln't get a high gpa like i should've. I'm graduating this year and tried my best to fix that but 3.2 was the best i was able to get with how much i messed up, getting an internship will be a good way to prove that I'm way better and understand biology on a deeper level than what my gpa indicates, and hopefully in few months i will add computational skills to what i can offer. if you have more tips for people like me it will be very appreciated. Love your content!
Hey! Nice to meet a fellow messer upper. I messed up my first two years and was only able to get a 4.0 because my final year was 2020, so all my exams were open book and I had 24 hours a day to make up for lost time. I don’t feel like my biology knowledge is 4.0 level. To be honest with you, after school you really only need to know the biology of the field your working in, and even then it’s also about the emerging technologies and methods in your field which you can stay up to date on. Don’t let your (very good!) 3.2 bring you down. As you say, add on computational skills and you’re hitting those requirements. You’ve got this 🙌
good afternoon georgia. My name is Amune victor efi a final year biomedical engineering student who wants to go into bioinformatics as a career path. Is it possible to get internships with companies outside nigeria. I would really appreciate if I could get one. I am currently in my final year and my expected month foe graduation is July 2024
IN ACADEMIA IN THE UK GDP ROUGHLY 27-35k, UNLIKELY TO GET ENTRY LEVEL INDUSTRY ROLE WITHOUT EMPLOYED EXPERIENCE BUT THAT WOULD BE HIGHER 💰 Most jobs advertise salary bands now 😍😍😍 and as a newly graduate you’re likely to be at the lower end (but always ask for more, nothing to lose!)

Looking for internships is so damn difficult 🤣 thanks for the advice Georgia!

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE SALARY THAT WE CAN EXPECT AS A BIONFORMATICS SCIENTIST AFTER MASTERS?

(Academia again) more senior roles will pay 35-50k, depending on your experience! And principle roles 50-65k :-)
