Hi Georgia, could you create a roadmap for entering the field of bioinformatics? I’ve recently completed my bachelor’s in biotechnology and have a stronger interest in dry lab work compared to wet lab. A video detailing this roadmap would be incredibly helpful, especially for those of us exploring this career path. It would also be great if you could provide insights into the financial aspects, like estimated costs for courses or degrees and the potential salary outcomes. Many of us are not financially strong, so having a clear understanding of the investments and returns would make a huge difference. Thanks!

Hello Georgia! Thank you very much sharing such video! I'm not sure if you could have time to answer this personal question but I still wanted to write you. I am a master student in Germany, I previously had some experience in wet lab even as employed in a company (synthetic medicinal chemistry) but now I'd like to apply for internship&master thesis positions is pharma companies in computational design of antibodies and I have zero experience in computational methods. Currently I'm trying to learn some skills, python, bash, data visualization, libraries (numpy, pandas, matplotlib) and I'm taking Schrödinger's online course "intro to computational design of antibodies". In order to strengthen my applications, I'd like to prepare a self-project like a data analysis project by gathering data on antibody efficacy from published literature and use Python to analyze trends. I have never done anything like these before but I'd like to try to do a project and add it to my CV if possible, even if it looks very easy. Do you think this makes sense?

Junior positions in my country would probably look like the senior version you applied first 😂😢

@genomicswithgeorgia I'm from Costa Rica, but bioinformatic positions are so scarce you would have to do everything.
