Man those are sick-looking I've got a 2010 Heritage Softail I've been thinking about putting hard bags on mine I believe that's the way I'm going to go
Liked your talk through on fitting the bags, I’m hopefully getting mine this week, I’m in England and ordered them from Germany as they were a much better price. Thanks for the information, it’ll be useful.
I think I read something about T- lites on certain models. One thing I forgot to mention in my review was we had to drill the holes on the bag frames a little bigger.
This is two years later but can anyone answer where I can get bullet lights for a 03 heritage Softail Classic?Amazon didn’t have them,EBay didn’t have them and Harley didn’t have any to fit my bike, everyone of the sites say they don’t fit my bike,so I ordered the bracket separate and the lights separate
I think those rubber grommets go on the bags where the bolt go slides thru, instead of attaching them to the frame. other utubers show the install. I'm getting these for my 99 fatboy. the only thing I don't like is how far out the bags sit, but hey,, you can't notice it from an airplane🤣
We had to drill out the holes in the frames that came with the bags so the frame bolts would slide thru.. I also had to put a cpl more washers where the bag attaches to the U shaped brackets to make the bags fit more snug. Once you get them adjusted to your bike they're great.
The cheaper bags for around 250 are different from Harley bags because of the U shaped mount where they attach to the struts where as my old 79 FLH I could have the bags off in a minute These have the pins behind the U shaped mounts. They are ok but in my case as in the 2nd video I had better luck with a larger washer on both sides and a small piece of rubber hose cut like a grommet with like I said larger metal washers and a rubber washer on each side as well because of vibration. Thanks for your input. They aren't perfect but are holding up well so far.
@peterphillips4373 With bag liners that came with my bags if I remember some of the hardware wasn't long enough to install the inserts. I just put them in the bags. I may glue them in at some point but they are fine. Nobody can see them
You will need a few extra grommets and some washers. Every bike is a little different. On mine the chrome axle covers were close to rubbing the bag. The washers solved that. Good luck.
Thank you so much for this info!❤ I think they look great!

Brother the brakets with the grommets you're talking about go the other way around 🤦bah at least you had them fitted
I ordered saddlebag guards after going through the same process and I'm wondering if they're even going to fit
i bought the same bags. The paint matched almost perfectly, but my issue was the rear of teh bags interferred with the tail lights.

My indicators are in the way on my 1997 heritage

I think they make a shorter in width mounting bar for taillights. You will have to look around and get the dimentions.
Looks awesome bro.
We also had to drill out the mounting frame holes just a bit for the strut bolts.

Just buy a short bar and use your original lights. That's what I did
@@RealWhiteComedy-ev5gx I went down to the 8 inch light bar and it’s bumping into one side the other side is good,Thanks Man
That's because the rubber grommet goes inside the hardbag hole
Yes there are rubber grommets in the Hardbag holes but you are going to have to do a little fabricating to make them work.
To make the bags work is what I meant. Like drilling out the frame bracket holes.
I added several washers on each side to make a tight fit.
He said "GROMLET" TEE HEE HEEE!❤ count how many times he said it, winner gets the bike
Good way to get everyone's attention. Got yours.
Nice I want to add to my softtail how does it ride at high speeds
I haven't had a chance because I had a back surgery last July and can't ride yet. I've gone around the block a few times. The bags are pretty solid.
Real slick😊

@@chuxxk79 wow! I like the look, still debating😏
I like mine as well but i am going to customize the bracket so they will fit closer i have an 04 fatboy.
Is there not an installation video?
@nursechic64 you may be able to search online, maybe youtube but I don't remember if there were specific instructions in the box.
Good luck
Do you have the link from EBay?
No link but just put in search for Harley Davidson Hard bags and lots will pop up.
Fyi tho grommet goes in the plastic hole in the bag

I'm about to install these. No instructions of course. I'm pretty sure u are right. Was trying to figure it out!
