Got one k1000 back in 1980. Chain tensioner often broke. Had action 4 piston in from a gold wing. 1075 cc
Sweet bike, turned out real nice!
I have an 82 csr1000,runs great
A dedicated bike gearhead. Sweet. Love some old school, been riding since the early 70s, love my newer fuel injected bikes though. I have one of those Snapon ,3/8 swivel/ snapover ratchets. I don't care who uses my tools, just don't put them back, I will. They are lost when someone else does.
I got the same 3/8 ratchet but its handle is orange. Great video
I love your work, Jack. You are genuine - that's how you come through! Question - did you keep the suspension stock?
Thanks a lot. No unfortunately. It had air shocks went I bought it in 2001 but they were shot. Went to new progressive in the rear. The front is stock.
I have an old KZ1000P I could lend you if you want to make a cool restoration video about it. I've been wanting to get it back on the road anyway!
Had that same bike with a z1r motor and a 2 tone emron paint job man i wish I still had that bike lol
Jack my 75’ Z1b is slated for a frame up resto in a few weeks by a pro. I’ve done everything I can do with my limited knowledge and tools. His shop is deep in OEM Z1 parts and he has a wealth of Z1 knowledge. Matter of fact that’s all he does. I’m beside myself to get my bike back. Somehow someway way we need to do a little side by side comparison.
I can tell you this, you are doing the right thing. That's exactly why I took the bike to Larry.
One of your best vids
i had a '77 KZ 1000 in 1981....thought it was untouchable....
I rode a KZ1000 LTD once. It was comfy and fst but like a pig in the corners. I now have a 90 GSXR750 and an 85 GS1150.
