Supra Drifting With GoPro Under Car and In the Rear Tire (Street Drift)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 13 июл 2024
- I put a GoPro Hero 9 Under my Car and in the rear tire of my Toyota Supra then Street drift to see what the suspension is doing and whats going on inside the rear tire while drifting.
the GoPro Hero 9 just fit in the rear tire and I was very surprised.
I also mounted the second GoPro 9 under the car to see what the rear suspension is doing while cornering under extreme conditions, the results were intriguing.
I did the best I could to drift as long as I could but the rear tires were pretty sticky, I also mounted a GoPro underneath the car so we can see the suspension at work while sliding into the turns and exiting.
watching the suspension work while the car was drifting was very amazing, I've never seen anything like this before which is the way I like it, it was so interesting to see how the drivetrain components and all of the bushings work together to dampen all of the forces going to the rear tires.
this was requested by thousands of viewers so I hope you really enjoy the video, let me know what you think in the comments below and keep the suggestions coming!

The under car shot was more interesting than the tire shot. Seeing the suspension, and the driveline flex under load was awesome.
I agree
I though so too!
And how close the exhaust got to hitting the pavement!
So neat watching driveshaft and axle rotate and the diff rotate from the torque. Super coool vid!
I've seen all of that before but the tire shot was amazing
3:25 these kind of shots gives us the real perspective of how much stress all the links and connections below the car are subjected! Very impressive! I feel the need to check my car right now...
I just love this guy. The fact that he doesn’t chat a load of shite like other channels... straight to the point like it should be...
For real
Agree 100% we come to see what the title says
2:57 ant: "RUN its that dude with his supra again"
Looks like a bushing on the front of the diff is starting to shred.
Diff mount and subframe bushings are toast, at around 3.30 you can see the whole rear end shift around.
Get it sorted mate it's not a nice job but that car will feel like new with some poly bushes.
Came here to say the same thing. His U-joints will thank him too since there's a fair bit of power he's giving up when that rotates to the rear. Exhaust has seen better days too.
@@willpayforbaconbacon9569 lol..8 years putting out 1000 hp takes its toll on the bushings, the car feels fine i wouldnt have known if not for the footage, however i don't like poly bushings, too stiff then the car does not feel like a supra, I like dampened power tbh makes the car very enjoyable to drive/
@@RickJohnson nothings perfect, but there is a huge damper donut in between the u-joints and the yolk, but you have to remember they are 26 yrs old and for the last 8 years taking 3 times the stock horsepower. thanks for the tips!
@@WarpedPerception 1000 huh.
I found an "easter egg": It says "Thanks for watching and I really appreciate all of my viewers" in the last shot, where he deflates the tire at 7:52 It's hidden in the fog.
We appreciate your work, too!
I can't believe he could fit a camera and SO MUCH TEXT in that tyre! xDDD
That's hard work!
Man you've got a really good eye, even after going back to see i can only make out a few words but if i had more hi-def resolution screen i probably would be able to see it better. Great find 👍😩🤔😁
I saw that too !! Not at first though , I thought my eyes were messing with me 😂
Woah that's so cool I see it too!
I can’t see it where is it
Someone needs diff bushings soon lol.
Lol i look to see how said it first. I need diff bushings in my Z
i thought i was the only one to notice, so do you also agree that this goofball is not drifting, he aint even getting sidewayz
@@starshipfpv Z1 is the way
First thing I saw haha
This is a real car channel. No gimmicks, catch phrases, quirks or screaming into the microphone like a coke head. Straight to the point.
I gonna say it... i can’t believe he camera man went into that tire. He deserves a raise
ikr
He got multiple raises... and multiple decreases (one for every rotation of that tire).
Go ask chrisfix, he'll hook you up with his drift Mustang
C'mon l supra is good for drift but the mustang is for drag racing
@@thabenzAMG i know but Chrisfix has got the Mustang all set up for drifting and he knows some drift guys who taught Chris
taha benslama believe it or not sn95 mustangs are good for drifting
@@thabenzAMG some of Formula Drift car using mustang..... Hmmm
Yes ask chrisfix to borrow his shitty ass mustang
The thumbnail makes it look like it’s on fire then you realize it’s Rust
Lol😂😂
It's actually red paint, I don't have any rust on this car apart from the exhaust
Heyyy its matsimus!!!
From being soldier to a petrolhead what a nice transform...
I thought the brakes were on fire lol
Woah... you can actually see the bead slipping on the rim, Thats crazy.. so thats why they invented bead locks. Oh and btw, you need new diff bushings.
I was surprised about it moving that much. If you mark the tyre and the rim does it slip around?
Wonder if its worse because he just mounted it, and he wet the bead to get it on the rim?
That's crazy
@@dr_jaymz good question... i think i may have to put that to the test.
@@TVmadethemdoit that slippage might also be the reason why he has so much grip, because he can't spin the tire completely

SOOOO COOL!
Thanks for subtitle
It's cool how it looks like a rough ride from the camera cool vid
Where was the drift location
all we want from you is probably supra stuff
This is literally one of the best sounding supras ever
thank you took alot of trial and error and careful selection of parts
You are the man. You have the best videos out there. I love how you can see your bushings flex and the rear suspension look as though it's actually turning and you can even see the exhaust holding on.
Someone give him a GoPro award for the most epic things...
😊thank you, I have more to come
i think the rim feels like that is because it's forged and then milled.
correct, those are the grooves from the carbide bit in the lathe or CNC mill
@@ughmas Probably not carbide. Tool steel is generally more than adequate for machining aluminum of any grade.
unlikely to be from milling, the longditudinal tool marks would be from lathing
Yeah either a lathe for CNC, it’s turned that’s for sure
ughmas I know how to use a cnc cuz a class lol
CNC machining strips. Billet rim, perfect :)
The coolest video I saw all day 🙌🏽 love your supra
That Supra is so beautiful. Very clean!
That noise at the end is because its a billit wheel. Made from a single billit of aluminum
@@thatmand4542 7:22 and it's billet lmao
@@thatmand4542 the end of the video
milling finish
@@MaYbYl8eR correct
@@MaYbYl8eR lathing - they go round the circumference, milling marks go in little circles.
that is probably a billet aluminum rim, made from one piece aluminum block. EXPENSIVE!
Yes i agree. I have made a few.
All your videos make me appreciate automobiles so much more.
Absolutely awesome and it just shows the stress the car parts are put under and that's why they fail. Great vid 👍👍👍
Really the cam in tyre didn't have anything new YET your great idea of adding the underside cam was pretty awesome! I loved the vid!
Let me borrow it for a weekend! I promise I'll get you a drift! 😁
When you want to come out? I'll pay for your air fare and give you $1000 cash if you pull it off, has to be the same location thought and you can't smash he car else you loose automatically.

Perfect but perfect sound 🤩 I love you supra ❤️
Should shout cleetus and have a go at filiming at the freedom factory while they are drifting
that's exactly what I said too! Tons of opportunities to get great footage there!
Hell yeah brother!
@@zackeudy6236 thank you, so wanted someone to say it lol
Seriously tho, that underside shot but with Donnie/Neighbor on the banks of the Freedom Factory would be sick.
He might be able to get a hook up with a real formula D car... I think he knows a guy.
The diff needs new bushings, there shouldn’t be that much flex
WOW ... amazing, great video!!!
Love your content! No BS and straight to action.
Thank you
monoblock forged not die cast, then cnc milled/machined and turned on the lathe, leaving tool marks.. more under carriage go pros instead of within tyre to see the flex in the rubber with a higher sidewall and the strain on the suspension / antiroll would be a lot more informative.
Agree!
@@WarpedPerception if the gopro can be mounted on to the suspension so that there is no relative movement of tyres wrt camera then that would be picture perfect for tyre flexion at the edge of maximum grip level just b4 sliding. can be done with hard braking or accelerating without slip in slomo. Love all ur videos cant wait forthe next 1.
@@WarpedPerception really the cam in tyre didn't have anything new YET your great idea of adding the underside cam was pretty awesome! I loved the vid!
@@Ktulu789 completely agree, I totally would not have done it unless thousands of people requested it.
@@WarpedPerception still appreciate the fact you listened to the fans. I think it was a little anti-climatic, but still cool to get an idea of how many times a tire turns in second.
Gooddddd fffrrrriiickeennnn mornniiinngggg
That thing sounds sooo good! 🥵👌🏽
Such an awesome video!
Myself is simple, i see Supra i click😀
What thumbnail did you see ?
Ok, be honest, who here came to hear the sound of a 2jz on full boost?
Who?
I love your videos. And that car
That rotating axle and driveshaft were very satisfying to look at
It's a forged and machined wheel on a lathe i guess, you hear vibrations caused by the grooves the tool bit made.
This noise from the cutter grooves. This is a milled rim.
Man, what a beautiful car ... Mark IV's in general ... one my all time favs.
The best part of the tire shot is the final bit where water inside vaporizes when the pressure drops. Awesome!
I always thought that was cool !
Holding my phone screen upside down to look at the in-tyre GoPro shots. Makes better physical sense.
Your right
Its scary when its tire screeching like a horror game sound effect
I'm all for a video about the supra ... That thing is a monster , and love the underbody shots two !
I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing a turbo. Mmmmm gives me chills.
It would be low people would be like wow that's incredible
Doesn't your wheel and interior get covered in grease and oil from not washing your hands? Serious question, I'm a clean freak about my car. Btw sick Supra! How much power it putting down?
Right? His hands were covered in shit after he hopped out of the car
Who cares? It can be cleaned later.... ishts gotta get dirty before you can clean it :p
It have good feeling some times 😂 especially when you get busy in work.
Love what you did.
Your turbo sounds amazing, excellent Supra
Burned through so much rubber he had kids
Replace those shot rubbers holding the diff for some Powerflex ones.
its really bad idea.
If its stiff at one point, all the load will start to destroy next weakest link.
Lets put that this way. Try to brake ruber band and try to brake piece of glass.
Glass is stiffer, but more fragile.
What happens with car is, when you have everything really stiff, then something will eventually brake, when useing soft rubber, all the load will be split between different locations and they will last longer and won't brake anything in car boddy.
Useing poly pushing on street cars are totaly rookies mistake.
Tbh, I was once rookie, and used theese. but converted back to usual rubber bushing recently.
Biggest problem with poly is that, they are not maintace free.
If we talk about rally cars, then they will have maintace after every track or race.
How frequently owners of street cars crease their pushings?
Never.
Next rookie mistake is really stiff shock absorbers on bad roads and coilovers overall, but theese are totaly different discussion.
I think with trippel the power the oem bushings are not strong enough to hold the diff in place at wide open throttle.
This creates to big of an angle and will destroy cardan hardydiscs.
@@royvandeweerd911 engine power has nothing to do with forces that bend the diff or any other part in chassis.
You need to learn some mehanics basics before you undrestand things.
Long study short.
All forces are equal. You can never have greater power output than its resistant power.
For car the resistance power is its wheels. If it starts to spin wheels at 100kw, then your engine output never exced 100kw, even if your engine is capable of 1000kw.
Only thing that makes engine to make more output is greater resistance, if we talk about same wheels, then greater output would be faster spinning for example.
Other way is to use bigger wheels, wheels with better grip or greater mass of car itself.
Second thing is torque.
torque and kw are are connected. Power (kW) = torque (Nm) x speed (revolutions per minute, or RPM) / 9.5488
To be clear, kW is work that has been done.
Torque is resistance, whitch can't be greater than its resistant torque.
Haveing torque does not mean that any work had done.
If you think about wheel nuts, that are rusted, and you can't loose them. You may give it constanty some torque, but they are not moveing. You have to exeed the torque that is holding the wheel nuts, just giveing a torque does not mean that any work has been done, it needs some rotations for that.
If we talk about cars, then we have gears. every gear has its ratio.
Lets say we have 3:1 at first gear and 1:1 at third and rear dif has 3:1. Engine max output is 500Nm.
So if we calculate then at first gear rear shaft has 9:1 gear ratio (3x3:1x1)
and with third gear we have 3:1(1x3:1x1)
gear ratio means that you are chageing torque. In our case whe are multiplieing it. It is like haveing longer wheel wrench(but you are loseing at speed/distance)
So engine output of 500Nm equals 4500Nm at first gear(500x9) and 1500Nm(500x3) with third, measured from driveshafts.
Lets say that engine of 500Nm can burn the tires with third gear. Then you can imagine that a lot weaker engine could to the same, maybe not with third, but with first gear.
Lets say we have second engine with 250Nm of torque, then with same ratios first gear has 250x9=2250Nm
So my point is, greater engine power itself does not have any affect of torque chassis is haveing.
With first gear weaker engine twists as same much diff pushings etc as stronger engine.
Nice car man. Love those old Supras.
Daamn that car sounds good!!🥵
the gopro can film slow motion too. it films both 120fps and 240fps slow motion. I think you should need to try that. and are you filming the 'April playing in the park in 300fps slow motion' video yet? we really need to see April playfighting with other dogs
Ok now put fix-a-flat in a tire with an old go pro and then drive
I kind of want to see this. Run over sone nails with the GoPro in the tire, then use some Slime or even a string plug.
@@normang3668 oh hell yeah. Seconded. 👍
Solid dedication to you survey. Thanks for not trashing the Supra. The noise of your hand on the rim is the machining grooves left by the cutter. That happens on unpolished wheels cut from a solid billet. 😉
