I love this laptop. Bought the 4070 version for $1700.00 instead of 2K. TBH its super solid, built well and thanks to BestBuy's total tech plus I have 2 years of warranty plus accidental damage coverage. I have noticed that my laptop got super hot, like abnormally hot when playing games. After opening it up and taking off the heat pipes I've noticed that my thermal compound on the GPU was TOTALLY DRY and that the CPU is using liquid metal. I've repasted/fixed multiple laptops before to know that my paste was dry so I ended up repasting this laptop. After doing so the temps are much better. I cant say exactly how much other than its noticeable.
I have the 2023 version of this laptop I bought it July of 2023 on sale during 4th of July from best buy for $1,199, regular price was and is still $1,599. It is on sale regularly, ive upgraded the ram to 32 and the ssd to a 2tb sabrent, when I bought the sabrent ssd I didn't notice how cheap I bought it last year I went into my Amazon history and noticed that same ssd is going for $200+ I paid $100, 7100mb/s read and 6600mb/s write crazy speeds
I still have my Lenovo Legion Y540 gaming Laptop with i7-9750H and RTX2060 plus I put in 32GB ram with 1TB Samsung 970 evo NVME and additional 2TB Samsung 870 SSD. It still rocks in 2024 I don't really need a new laptop.
Im typing this on my G14 rn i got it mine form best buy open box. I went to my local store and the dude was a beast. He pulled out all the open box thin and light gaming laptops and the excellent condition g14 was 200 dollars and was super beat up im pretty sure i payed $870 something about 8 months ago and i have loved this thing. Honestly the problem i found is its to nice to game on id rather do my work on it. The macbook of gaming PC.
@@smidge2422 yea like the light weight design metal construction and beautiful display, makes me feel bad using it as a skinny console lol( I usally game hooked to a tv so the laptop just sits in clamshell mode)
Love the review, thank you :) Asus has always been a favorite of mine. From what I can tell in the video is the keyboard on the laptop does not seem to have the backlit "shift" keys (1 thru =, etc.), unless I am mistaken?
just a question about the battery testing did you change the mode back to silent or some other one since the hyper mode might have affected the battery life drastically, im just curious since im interested in the g14
16gigs is just not enough for a laptop like this. what a shame that theyre soldered lmao. here in eu, white g14 w/ 4060 and 32 gigs goes for 2500USD, which is insane
im probally getting a laptop instead of a pc im just a big fan of laptops im probally gonna save up for this gonna take while but hopefully i will get this or the best one out when i have money
Nah ...dont go with this....choose the 32gb with 4050 6gb instead ...the 32gb goes a long way then your 4060 8gb...also this doesnt allow you to upgrade the ram...as a tech youtuber this is the most important aspect you need to mention for this laptop

The 2023 model has a slot to add more ram so I added 1 stick of 16GB 4800mhz ram making it 32GB.
Owned one of these for a bit (returned it due to some issues) however its an extremely well designed laptop, very capable.

Nah ...dont go with this....choose the 32gb with 4050 6gb instead ...the 32gb goes a long way then your 4060 8gb...also this doesnt allow you to upgrade the ram...as a tech youtuber this is the most important aspect you need to mention for this laptop
