By no means do you have to support but Mrs. Gibson and I really appreciate the support as it goes a long way since most of these videos are copyrighted or blacklisted by YT. Lots of time goes into recording, editing, researching, and providing encouraging words throughout each reaction/review so this is an OPTION for those that are able to do so. DO NOT if finances are tight and priorities need to be taken care of first.

All of my Creed reactions - bit.ly/3vIW5MU
Yeshua was perfect but so many Christians stop following God's laws celebrating pagan holidays Eat unclean foods not keeping the sabbath and alot more
That's mark singing the chorus and Scott does the harmonys
Hi DGibbs!!
I've been a sub for a few few years and today became a Patreon! I would REALLY love if you would react to
Danny Gokey - Tell Your Heart To Beat Again. He is an amazing Christian artist who also placed 3rd on "American Idol" in 2014. The song & the story behind it changed my life. One of love, loss, faith and trust. I know your incredibly busy & your list is long!! ❤🙏
Creed is good. Look up Jeremy Camp.
Devin....you are an inspiration! I created my own prison many years back and fell upon my knees, desperate for the answers to life's questions. Creed and their message influenced my strength and survival to never fail. I absolutely find your words just as powerful and impactful! Keep up the great work brother and know others are better people because of you!!
I wish there was more Christian music like this. It's not all sweet and excessively religious sounding. It's dark and painful, with poetic lyrics that Christians and non-Christians alike can relate to and enjoy. Such a great song. Outstanding video breakdown and message 👍
Fly leaf, red, skillet, just a few really good ones for you.
@@rustymarrs4832
Yes, big fan of Lacey Strum. Thanks, I'll check out Red and Skillet👍
@Gog Vs MaGog already over and and breath into me are the first two i heard. Breath into me hooked me to the band.
I just will say Lacey Sturm!
Check out Demon Hunter. Awesome Christian band
Scott wrote this after a night of taking mushrooms. He had a dream he died was being judged and went to hell. He wrote this about his visions in the dream.Mark had that guitar riff since high school. It was the 1st Drop D riff he wrote.
No wonder it has a bluesy vibe. Its the tuning that mississippi delta bluesman Skip James would use.
Is that so ? It sounds amazing, but where Is the source
When this song came out, it exactly explained my life at that time. It was the springboard to my salvation.
I first heard this song in the early 00's. I was in a dark place. Dealing with my experiences from the USMC and life as an LEO. When I heard it...It wasn't just a song. I saw myself in the cage that I had built. It was the springboard for me to go back to church and correct myself with Christ.
@@spookyspacekook5426 Its amazing a song can speak exactly to where you are in life...much less speak to exactly what you need to hear. This song...their first song...was the only song I could listen to at t hat time in my life. I was in a dark place myself. I was a Corpsman in the Navy at the time. When this song came out....it was the only song I could listen to. I felt like I was in a hole a deep hole looking up and could only see a sliver of light. I was contemplating suicide because if I was alone...voices reminding me of all my failure kept haunting me. One Sunday night alone in my barracks room I was being tormented, as I was hoping I had a pistol to shoot myself...I fell to my knees and said God I need the answer!.......a week later I was in a small church that felt like home, filled with loving people. The associate pastor was leading. He asked everyone to stand but never asked anyone to raise thier hands who wanted to be forgiven. I said thats what I need, I bowed my head and said the prayer.......and a lifetime of pain, hurt, wounds, sin, guilt shame etc.....was lifted. I felt like I had just woken up from a bad dream when I opened my eyes from the prayer. I knew that I knew God, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit was real! It felt like waking up in the Matrix, but to a better reality. Everything I walked into that church that weighed me down and distressed me was gone. Everything. I was free and I knew that God had set me Free. There's no questioning that, God made Himself real to me! I've never Questioned my faith in Him since.
Amen!!!
Creed did not get respect they deserved.
Because of Scott Stapp, his "We aren't a Christian band" killed everything they had going on and the other thing he did...
Definitely this album was so good
They’re Alter Bridge now and still rocking. But you’re not wrong. I’ll always rock out to some Creed.
They surely had the record sales. Wasn’t Human Clay certified diamond?
4 real !!! I used to listen to them as a teenager. They really kept my head on right. Man it’s crazy how much they influenced me around all the chaos. They NEVeR got the respect …. It’s a really a shame.
Creed is speaking truth and I loved your shirt. Faith over fear! Amen!
Love how creed is getting more love than they used to. Not “Christian band” but a very religious based band. Not a skillet or flyleaf but very much faith based. So deep in all their songs!
Do more flyleaf/Lacey! You’ll love her passion for Jesus! The song “again” or “rot” or “sorrow”!!
Dev, my man, I still to this day get goosebumps on that first 'Gabriel stands and confirms I've created my own prison'; so powerful and haunting all at once.
Creed were such a great band full of such talented individuals. Their 1st album had 'Torn' 'My Own Prison' 'What's This Life For' and 'One" on it, which were all so good. They get some hate idk if just for being Christian oriented or Stapps voice, but they had more No. 1 hits in their time than anyone.
Ain’t gotta settle no goddamn score
I was 12 when this album came out. My parents were very strict on what I was allowed to listen to. It was basically Creed and p.o.d. for me when I was 12. This band impacted me big time as a child.
What'd they think about "Don't have to settle no God damn score"
Addiction is hell on earth. That's how I've always perceived this amazing song, in all it's beauty and raw emotion
Salute Scott Stapp! Really great inspiring vocals. Creed was fire 🔥!
I love ❤️ Creed! I would be first in line for a new album and tour! I know one day will see them together again!!
Tremonti is one of the best guitarists of his generation
Him and Dan donegan from disturbed are super underrated!
He's great. I feel like the gimmickiness of Scott's voice made people not pay attention to how good Mark was. Everyone wants to make fun of the voice but the music was great.
You had me just about jumping up and down in agreement and praise for our Lord and Savior, young man! Soli Deo Gloria!!!
Definitely should hear Scott Stapp's other band. "Jesus was a Rockstar," is a good song to listen to
This creed song was my favorite they ever did!! Love to see you react to creed they were a great band that and hit the all time high and fell!!
I’ve been begging so many channels to do this song forever. You’re the first one I’ve seen so THANK YOU!! Please do Pity for a dime and What’s this life for, from this same album.
I just back from retreat but couldn't attend Sunday service. I listened to this song the whole way back on repeat. My ex fiance and I spent the whole weekend talking about being born again and making the concience decision to let God steer our lives and once we had made that commitment to Jesus to earn is his sacrifice by moving the way He did then we could commit to each other properly the god intended. Now I'm home and unpacked and I'm watching this and i in tears. Thank you because this is more than a sign. Thank you.
What a great reaction and explanation even further than what I had thought. Such a great great song!
"Yolo your way to the Lord" sounds like a T-shirt seller.
This is my all time favorite band. Love them , I could listen to them all day. I was just a kid when they were popular and I remember going to the store and buying their cd’s.
All these years of listening to Creed since before they debuted, and just seen the lyrics say "Should've been dead on a Sunday morning banging my head..."
I've always heard and sang it as "Should have been there on a Sunday morning hanging my head," as in prayer at church.
The lyrics are “should have been dead” and “banging my head”. I’ve always wondered the meaning behind it.
Your sort of right. Its not about last judgment. Its about creating your own prison by your own actions, no one else's. This song is the singer saying I'm sorry and admitting how he caused the things that lead him down this path. His father started to talk to him after hearing this song
I've heard this song a million times and always loved it. First Creed song I had ever heard and then bought the cassette. Cassette lol. Hearing your breakdown of the song was more music to my ears. So well said and very inspiring my brother
Scott Stapp on the long "Oooooooh", and Mark on the chorus. They switch up the vocal roles a lot. They do the same in Alter Bridge now (past Creed members) with Myles and Mark; switch backing and lead vox. Love that dynamic; wish more people would use it today. Mark's even got his own band where he does lead vocals, called Tremonti (after his last name). They make some great stuff too.
Creed ages like fine wine
It was Scott in the back. Mark was singing. Yes Scott sang most of the song, but Mark sang those little parts
I may not be a Christian anymore but I still appreciate the values that they teach and the fact that the most important thing is the Golden rule! Treat people the way you want to be treated., The color of our skin means nothing unless you want to play victim.
I was 15 in 1997 and in 1998 is when I first saw them in concert when this album first came out and they put on one hell of a show
"Higher" is another song of theirs I think you'd like. I was in elementary school when creed was a big thing. My first time heading them was in 4th grade. Been a fan since then lol.
"Yall better YOLO your way into the lord!" Has me in tears laughing. That was hysterical thank you for making my night
This was beautiful. I have always loved this song and always knew what it meant.....
Scott is singing the "and I say OH", Mark is singing the rest of the corus. This song is deep. Many say it's about addiction. I believe it's about not excepting Christ and going to hell. Both may be true. "You better YOLO yourselfe in the word" LOL
it’s about how he ruined his life and created his own prison, the song is about how god would be the only one who could save him from addiction but it was too late and his prison was created, so yes kind of about both
My favourite song and album of all time !
I was 18 when this song was released.
The "should have been dead on a Sunday morning banging my head" is actually about a time Scott Stapp jumped from the balcony of his hotel room in an attempted suicide but was saved by (of all people) rapper T.I.
With arms wide open is a great one from creed seen them life awsome
I used to have a roommate back when this album came out she would play this album non-stop all day long for days on and I love them but my God it was just too much so I didn't listen to them for a long time this is the first time I've listened to them in about 20 years now I can appreciate it❤
My dad was hooked to this song and creed all together in has last 3-4 years and never understood until he passed and I got to go through all his music, he wasn't religious but he had a knowing it was coming, its humbling
The line about should've been dead on a Sunday morning was talking about Scott and his substance abuse. Scott had done either LSD or mushrooms the day before and he work up the next day and just wanted to bang his head to make the pain stop. Creed puts on an amazing show. I saw them in 97 in Nashville and then on every other album tour until they broke up(again).
I never thought I'd see or hear a Creed reaction. They had some really great music back in the day
Loved the video and the message. Keep living the life man.
Dayum! i remember listening to this in my teens playing Sonic Adventure Battle on the Gamecube! completely forgots how great this son was!! I always understood that Creed were a Christian faith rock band but i never really grasped the lyrics so your breakdown is so insightful... now i need to hunt down the rest of the Creed reviews!!
Great reaction man. You should check out and react to What's This Life For by Creed off the same album My Own Prison or of you haven't already the song What If off the album Human Clay
I was about 15 I guess when this came out. They were so huge in the late 90’s. Brings me back to much better times for sure.
Many people did not even realize this was a gospel song..the lyrics in this use double entendres...which is a word that has two different meanings...for example the word "Sun" many the sunshine and the word "Son" in which the refers to the son of God.
Just wanted to drop by and say you're doing GREAT work out here man. It's all for him, for ALL of our salvation!!!
Mark Tremonti is singing the Chorus!
Scott: (And I said, ohh)
Mark: So I held my head up high
Hiding hate that burns inside
Which only fuels their selfish pride
Scott: (And I said, ohh)
Mark: All held captive out from the sun
A sun that shines on only some
We the meek are all in one
"you better yolo your way into this Bible" i'm CRYING 😂😂💀💯💯💯
intersting that the big record companies would not take on Creed until they paid for their own first album production (my own prision) and it was such a hit the big comapinies were climbing all over themselves to sign them.
The only reaction to this song that actually gets the meaning of the song
This song is the story of my life. I had a very bad car wreck on father's day morning. I had a couple holes drilled into my skull.
Man I sure do miss Creed!! Thank the lord Devin we have good people like you to bring us this message in a fantastic way. Amen bro. I will watch this entire video a lot!!! I, we ,all need it
Yay creed!!
I'm glad you got it! most reactions on this was clueless. Great job my friend.
In 97, I was a Corporal of Marines
I need to hear this from you brother. Thank for trying us up for him. Amen
That's actually Mark singing the chorus
Oh man. You got me feeling old lol. You were 2 years old when it came out 😄. My son was born in 98 an I was loving some creed back then.
powerful true lyric...Scot's great voice...perfect description of how our sin we build into our own prison
Basic instructions before leaving Earth!!! That's absolutely correct 💯 and just because you may not agree with it does not make it a bad thing,. Other people have different views and that is okay 👍
I gave it a like already because I know it’s gonna be a good one!!
My favourite Creed song by a mile..
Seeing this just now. Love to see a man of faith.
That first album is amazingly solid.
Hey man, first of all, I love the fact that you're a God-fearing, Christian man, that's awesome, I am too! Secondly, I LOVE Creed, they're my favorite band of ALL time! Their first album that I ever owned and heard was their second album, "Human Clay". When I heard the first song on that album, I was HOOKED! Also, in the song "My Own Prison", when you hear the, "Ohhhhh", that's Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti is singing the, "So I held my head up high, hiding hate that burns inside"..... And so on.
Check out Mark Tremonti singing Frank Sinatra "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Fly Me To The Moon", and "My Way". IT'S INCREDIBLE!!
So glad you got to this song my brother. Creed brings rock to the word of God.
Great vid devin god bless to you and yours 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I've been listening yo Creed for 20+ years and you just completely changed my perspective on everything.
Dang it DGibby! now i need to listen to this album again...havent heard it in prolly close to 20 years...
You have the flow brother 💪 grateful for you spreading the truth thru Him
Preach it Devin❤️Miss Debby
Excellent truth you laid out.
Awesome band inspiring music and message
...Amen brother!
This and "One" are my two favorites by Creed. All of their albums are good, but those songs hit different. I'd love to see you react to One. Be blessed.
Theres something very real and powerful about those few words you said. " How can you not turn to that?"
Well said. You speak fast but make a great amount of sense! Love the Creed reactions. Watched the Faceless Man one three times and im sure will watch it again! It's great!
I love everything u stand for and ur acknowledgment of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ just makes my heart smile!!! Look to the Lord and he WILL show u the way…Amen
Actually, this song was about Scott dealing with drugs. He was in “his own prison “ he was very depressed and looking for help.
For real a Alter Bridge song you need.....no...MUST do is Words Darker Than Their wings. It's a duet with Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti. The lyrics are a direct conversation between Myles and Mark. Myles is Atheist and Mark believes in a higher power. The song is about the conversation of that. It is really really good. I'd suggest listening to the Live version but the album version is just as good. Such a powerful song.
This was my fav cd release from Creed...another fav was Whats this life for.
Hello, Newbie subbie here. Hope all is well and God bless you and yours. There is 100,000 percent proof that He exists. His Word is All the proof we need because that Is the proof. 😊🙏
Brilliant commentary!! Thank you!!
I watched a reaction AND got the gospel? Instant subscribe! PREACH BROTHER!
Well done!!!! Keep it going. I accidentally re-found you. Lol. I dig it! Great stuff
God bless you brotha!! 🙏🏻❤️🔥
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
There a new age religious band from a new age church that trys getting kids interested in looking into God. I went to a church like this in Beloit , Wisconsin they put on plays and concerts it was amazing
Gabriel stands and confirms.... I've created my own prison♥️♥️♥️
Still one of my favorite songs.
His whole album is good, One is my personal favorite, but higher and arms wide open are his most popular with this song
This is always been one of my favorite songs.
Brother, I was just talking to my 7 year old daughter about Jesus and how he came to save us from sin. May God be with you.
Amen
The singer Scott Stapp was raised in a Christian home his farther was a pastor if I remember correctly
Like your reactions man keep it up I'm a Christian too man and seeing others proclaim their faith in Christ is really inspiring and makes me proud to be a servant of God
Ps I like the little sermons you do at the end of your videos really good man
Sig and Creed; this man has taste.
How did I never figure out what the chorus meant all these years?
