    I love that you are completely REAL. It's so refreshing. Life can't always be planned out perfectly, and I LOVE that you just roll with things and say "hey guys, I'm getting a late start and it's 3pm." That happens to me a lot. :-)

    I spend a ton on pre-made mini muffins for my kids...they love the Entenmann's brand but they are so expensive. I have baked my own before but never thought about cooking them in bulk and freezing. I got so many ideas from this video. Thank you!

      Musey85 and DaLaMc1 have you ever tried a low carb diet? l personally have struggled with pcos and the conditions that come along with it. Insulin is a major cause. A low carb diet will lower insulin and improve your condition.

      musey85 I have PCOS too. I stopped drinking regular milk and drink only organic. I do not eat soy. With in months of doing this things became more normal. anyone with PCOS knows what I mean. Give it a try. You have nothing to lose.

    Freezing pb&j sandwiches was one of my best time savers when my one son was in school. Before school stated in September I'd make and freeze enough sandwiches to carry me thru to Christmas break. Then during break I'd make enough to last the rest of the year. Packing his lunch was a breeze!

I worked full-time outside the home until I retired 5 weeks ago! Now I am trying to cook, but with fibromyalgia and trying to clean and organize our home along with our yard, sometimes I'm in too much pain, but luckily DH is still happy to cook.

    I switched to turkey and chicken. We no longer eat beef or pork and wow my food bill is lower AND my cholesterol went down 200 points! I and my daughter have went further to only fish and no dairy (she's lactose intolerant so I figured why not with all the nut milks they have now) but since we all switched no one gets sick except for allergies. I still miss a nice streak tho!

  • @apfelprincess45
    @apfelprincess45 8 лет назад +2

    If you cook your onions first, before you add your minced meat, they will soften nicely and the meat won't toughen too much whilst you're waiting for the onion to cook :) Also, have you got chickens? They'll eat your bread machine fails! Plus a way to store sandwiches once you've made them and want to freeze them. Don't use a freezer bag, wrap them in clingwrap and then put them back in the bread bag stacked up and you can put that in the freezer and then take them out as you need them!

With work, my weekend fills up quickly, but this video motivated me to plan for it again. Sometimes getting is the hardest part. I plan on starting with the grab and go sandwiches and burritos first. You really inspired me to try meal prepping. I planned two weeks worth of meals. I used a few of your printables and typed up my own action plan. I started at 6am and cooked until about 7pm. The next couple days i trickled in the rest of what i didn’t finish. Im only 3 days into eating our freezer meals and i am loving how easy it all is. I am only having to heat and make sides. I dont mind spending all day in the kitchen ( i love it). I made buffalo chicken for pizza, nachos and a hot sandwich. barbocoa pork for a salad, taco /nacho and salad. Sesame garlic honey chicken for an over rice dish and an asian salad. Chicken fajitas. Steak fajitas. Lasagna, 3 batches of meatballs prepackaged into bags as sweet and sour meatballs, mexican enchilada, beef gravy. I made our bread, rolls for the husbands philly sandwiches to take for work. I scheduled to eat all leftovers every 3 days and that should have my meals last a little over 2 weeks. Next time i plan to cook for the month and get ahead. Im going to add to whatbi have already done: Chili(dogs, burger, bowl, potato), enchiladas, beef burgers, turkey burgers, meatloafs and some ziti pastas.

      +The Encouraging Homeschool Mom depending on my menu and the amount of times I have to stop and address a little, it takes 4-6 hours. I have many hands to help but with only one oven ( that struggle is real for moms of many) I think it takes longer. I'm hoping for a second oven to speed things up and for the holidays it would great! Now when my babies were in the toddler stage it took two days. Now my baby is 4 so things move faster and of course they all help ;)

    Girrrll you need a dish fairy to come and assist you on freezer fill up day! I'm a widow/empty nester, and although I cook for a good friend from church in exchange for his handyman &errands running skill, I don't go through that many dishes in a month!! Bless your heart, that is going to take a whole day to get through all the pots and pans. My Aunt used to entertain a lot, so she would cook like crazy to have everything in the freezer so all she had to do for meals is defrost and heat up. Personally I work 12 to 14 hours a day 4 days a week, so precooking works for me as well. Although it usually burns one weekend a month, having the 3 day weekends helps a lot.

    You truly are an inspiring lady. This video is a lovely reminder of the cooking days that use to happen in Mum's kitchen (living in a small community meant lots of baking for fundraisers etc) :) TFS and god bless.
    Also, slow cookers and bread machines are two of the best inventions for kitchens IMO :)

    You may already do this, but when I freeze precooked ground beef, I flatten it in the freezer bags. Stacking them takes less room, and they thaw much faster.

    Thankyou for the inspiration. Ive been slack prepping food and this video inspired me to get back into the swing of things. Not only do we tend to eat healthier when i do prep, but its cheaper, yummier and just as convenient.
    Tfs & take care 🌹

    It is so nice seeing you vlog in my small town. We wanted to say hi on when you took older boys out for their special treat but did not want to interrupt your peaceful evening with no littles. My son has watched a few vlogs with the littles in it and he was wanting to say hi to them but maybe we will see you around town again with the boys.

    I remember with my family when I was younger, there were 7 children, we would do things like this where we made a ton of freezer dinners and make easy breakfast items (we all went to public school so muffins with a cheese stick or sausage was a normal school morning lunch). We had a ton of grab and go items and sandwich making items and we were responsible for our own lunches. We always usually had a meal plan of some sort whether it was weekly or monthly. As we got older and kids left the house my sister and I took a great interest in cooking so one of us would make dinner for the family

    Oh my I just found your channel. You are so on it . I came from a family of 12 but I am the baby so didn't really learn like my older siblings did . You have such great ideas as far as feeding your family . I personally have only 2 kids . I usually cook every day. But think I may do some of your freezer cooking ideas . Such a time saver . Think I am going to love looking at the rest of your old videos .

    Glad I was taught how to cook fresh and healthy from a very early age. I am 37 and taught to cook starting at age 4(my first child too) to help or actually cook items independently. I used to tape cooking shows when I was 10 with a VHS recorder before there was a Cooking/Food TV and few cooking shows on PBS. I think I wished that I followed through with that after seeing what people think is good programming or efficient for a home cook.

    You remind me of me... I have 5 kids (and a husband), and I always speak to them kindly. I don't yell, and they are never in trouble. Good job, Mom! I have a question for you. Do you ever get fast food or go out to dinner? Don't you just need a really quick break sometimes? I factor that into my budget. Love watching you!!!!!!😍😘

    Great video!!! I love freezer email cooking! Question: do you Add mayo and mustard in the ham and cheese sandwiches? Wondering how it will freeze. I love freezing the PB and J's!! Thanks!

    • @apfelprincess45
      @apfelprincess45 8 лет назад +9

      They will freeze fine with mustard and/or mayo added to them, the only thing is if you want lettuce, add that when they're thawed out and just before you eat them because lettuce has a high water content and will not freeze successfully.
