Wow! Your amazing spirit and positive attitude in the tough weather of the trek is truly inspiring. Definitely one of the best videos from the EBC trek.
Protein powders? Those sherpas and porters live on whatever food that happens to be available and yet they're much stronger than any gym freak or body - builder, carrying dozens of kilos up those mountains for hours on end. And the lemon tea? That's your natural source of electrolytes (apart from all other benefits)😉. Great video, really enjoyable to watch!
I agree. I always laugh when people say oh I am a body builder they are tough etc. Then .. they have no brain to use sun cream. Brainless weight lifter. 😬🤦🏼♀️ They are just people like anyone. Just becaude they are going to the gym they are just humans who do struggle to breath in elevation. Just human.😂 good video though.
Ginger lemon tea provides almost no electrolytes apart from a few mg of potassium from the lemon. You’d be better off eating a potato for potassium. Many of the Sherpa do eat meat up in the mountains. It is less safe for visitors to eat that meat, and also a bit frowned upon because of supply and demand issues it would cause for the visitors to come through and eat all the meat. The porters are definitely strong for the specific way they work and train - but otherwise they’re actually quite small and not very muscular. They have incredible endurance though that they’ve genetically been gifted with from adaptations of being in the mountains for generations. Our porter was about 5’6 and I’m guessing about 120lb. Our guide was about 5’3 and similar weight.
Great video. But one thing I did notice. At 39:39. You never showed us that upgraded hotel room. Other than that, this video was wonderful. Thanks for sharing. 😊👍
Hey my man! congrats on the trip. You are very good narrator and storyteller. I have few questions. 1. Camera + Mic Gear. 2. Filter that you put on the footage. 3. So you are wearing a backpack right? and Ammar is just a guide? means you have to carry your own stuff, wasnt it too heavy? Thanks. Blessings.
Camera was a Sony a7 IV and a GoPro whatever the newest one is. Filter - really isn’t a filter. Just enhanced the picture a bit with sat and changes in lighting. Amar is the guide, yes. Sunam is our porter. He carried one bag that myself and the other guy in the video shared. I carried the rest of my stuff. Probably weighed ballpark 30lb.
@@PierreFarrugia my rain jacket was just the north face rain jacket shell. Not sure the exact model name, but it was a mid length shell jacket. Did the work, but on day 3 or 4 of pouring rain it finally lost its rain proofing. As did literally everything.
I do not understand why you went through Tengboche both on the way up and down, when there there is an amazing High Scenic Trail on the opposite side of the valley via Mong La - Phortse - Pangpoche. Vastly better views, lots of wildlife and practically no other trekkers. Everybody should go up that way and only come down via Tengboche.

@@DonnaRoushall Hello again! I have walked Phortse - Pangpoche High Scenic Trail 5 times so far: 1998 from Phortse to Pangpoche, 2000 the opposite way leading a group, 2009 we went up with my wife, 2018 I hiked both up and down that way. I have paid for my treks/staff and I have also led groups using that route. Also several agencies have started using it after my recommendation. So now I feel quite well qualified to recommend it after doing it many times. And I can, and I am fast. Have you been up there at all, I have spent 5 months up there in Khumbu since 1985.

You should totally check out EBC, it's such a unique experience.
Great video. Mostly because all the rain caused huge problems at lower elevations with washing out roads. Late Nov 2025 is when my trek starts.
Would you be able to make a vlog as well about your trek.
