3 minutes in and I feel like you're talking about me! 7 minutes I'm convinced you're talking to me. Take it, it has the same drive train as GSXS1000 GT? That K5 motor is lovely and willing it encourages you to twist the throttle and ride the revs.
As you describe it.... Perfect do it all bike. The K5 motor is in my humble opinion the best 4 pot motor ever made. This coming from a Guzzi and Beemer boxer owner.
Love the idea of the bike. A local motor magazine called it something in the ways of "when a Kilogixxer (GSXR 1000) and a V-Strom produce offspring". But its nearly 20k€ around here, so maybe I think about it in 5 years haha
I think they'll be a bargain in a few years, and hopefully more reliable than a Euro bike. Which is another way of saying, I worry about the depreciation! ;)
@@btgmoto Depreciation. One mans joy, another mans sorrow. But looking at the used market, prices are generally quite high. Not as high as the last years, but on forums I can read old posts from 2010 saying "I bought a mint 2005 GSXR for 4k" and I am like wow, that's what they are worth right now.
Nice review, although, the bike has a good amount of pros, but for £17k I'd expect a bit more, it's silly little things, no heated grips as standard, non adjustable screen (only adjustable with spanners) no center stand, it's close but just not complete

@@BernardVisagie Don't get me wrong, unless the price was right, I wouldn't rush to buy them over anything else. But they're not so bad that I would rip them off the bike first thing. Early Continentals (first and second gen) I hated, but they improved massively in the last decade. Most of the premium brands don't even make a bad tyre these days. If you want an objectively bad tyre for a modern bike, you have to go searching the bottom-end Asian brands. One of the best tyres for everyday riding on bikes like this, in my opinion, is the Dunlop Mutant. It's incredible, though milage isn't as good as a dedicated touring tyre, and the 'hum' as you approach 50% usage will make you change early. I still get 5000kms out of mine on a fully laden GS at Mach 3.2 tho
@@btgmotoI think they are Dunlop Roadsport 2's as standard. Japanese manufacturers often put on 'oldfashioned' size 190/50 on their bikes. As Suzuki did with this bike i think. 190/55 will give you a much more homogenous feel while cornering. European manufacturers always use this size if they put on a '190'. Continental Road Attack 4 is my favourite sporttouring tyre. It feels 'next level' in every way. Entertaining channel by the way. Keep it up

The engine on this bike is my second favourite of all time. v4 honda non vtec no 1. Not as quick as this but still an aural, visceral pleasure. But performance wise this is perfect
I don't understand why everyone has problems with GoPro's. My hero 10 never froze. It eats batteries and likes to heat up, but with a little bit of airflow it's completely under control
I've had most iterations, and they almost always end up in my box of broken electronics. This one will work for days, then freeze up like this. I now have a second DJI Action 3, so I will be able to use 2 cameras more consistently from now on, I hope!

Normally I run a DJI Mic (wireless) on the back of the lid, and a lavier on the inside of my chin piece connected to the 3.5mm jack. Air vents blocked, visor closed. This was a borrowed helmet, so I just crammed the whole DJI Mic in to one side of my mouth, with the muffler on! Second wireless mic was on the back of this bike, but for some reason was getting epic interference, which you can hear every now and again despite many de-hum filters
I was wondering, since you've ridden so many bikes. What would be your perfect go-to bike to do a long tour to the south of Spain, mostly on roads with some casual light offroading? If you could pick any bike, which one would it be?
There’s so many bikes that fill that role really well, but is the Suzuki particularly exceptional in any area ? It’s a big, heavy, powerful and comfortable sports tourer and you’d soon find the limits on a track day because of that long travel suspension. I’d happily have one, but would I spend my own money on one ? I don’t think so. Wasn’t your idea to get away from bikes like the GS because of weight and size ? The Suzuki looks like a substitute - it will probably manage a track day marginally better than the GS, but it can’t really go off road.
It's absolutely not "exceptional" in any area EXCEPT bang for buck and ride. The suspension felt VERY very good. On a par with Multistrada Skyhook Ohlins. But, the bang for buck is strong, and that motor (if you like it) is one of the best of all time. The major problem with the GS for me was practical/logistical. The Boxer twin takes up way too much space in my van!
@@btgmoto Suzuki seem to be spending more time on the suspension than other companies at the budget end. The 800DE is supposed to have good suspension too.
Cable clutch has better feel. Yea, at some point it'll snap, but you can feel that coming but regular oiling will hold that day off for a very long time.
I wanted to love it, but I didn't gel with it. To me, inline 4's are dying for road use. Don't come at me. Just my opinion, everyone in the comments... It's a cracking bike. It'll be more reliable than anything else, that's for sure. But for me, the engine was more suited for the GT. I found the Tracer 9 GT+ to be a better bike than the GX. Thanks for the video. Thanks for comment! I've not lusted after an inline 4 for road stuff in a LONG time... I agree with you there. It's still a good basis tho, and lots of people love them. The GX is the closest I've got, but I'm still not gonna change my life to buy one

I tried it and was disappointed . Crap front brake. Seems a bit flat in the midrange , compared to something like a Tracer GT+. It’s also not homologated to take a top box so not great for two up touring and it lacks standard equipment . I bought a Tracer GT+. The CP3 motor is sublime. Only makes 117 bhp but it feels like so much more.So good infact that I’ve ordered an XSR 900 GP. I think Suzuki have missed the mark with the GX. Edited to add-you should have tried A mode as it’s much quicker than B mode……. And go try a Tracer GT+
Brakes on mine needed bedding in still, I could feel it at the bar. Hence no strong comments either way. The components are all correct for perfect performance, so I would be surprised if they didn't improve. Only one way to find out though... I need it for MORE than 20 minutes. :(
About the Tracer, my local dealer won't loan me one, but he will rent me one. Might try it just for the content. It's a cool looking bike, I like the red/black they offered last year.
@@btgmoto Do it ! The GT+ is only better than the GT in that it has a nice TFT rather than the divers mask twin clock thingy and also has adaptive cruise. No use for you around your neck of the woods. But the motor is gob-smackingly good.I’ve owned about 75 bikes and it’s probably the best motor I’ve ever experienced .You’d never guess it was down on the GX by about 30 horses. The ECU is set up so it always gives you more than you ask for. Might sound odd but it’s utterly sublime in practice. Great quickshifter, especially on the GT+ as it’s the level 3 jobby. Anyway, if you can go try one .Even better, go do a lap of the ‘Ring if you can and piss off some sportsbike heroes 😜
You simply can't make something wrong with a modern Suzuki, they might be not high end but lets be honest not many can afford a 25.000€ bike and not many want to spend that amout of money in a Bike. I have the GSX -- S1000 for two years now and I hit 40,000km with it the engine is still like brand new. Changed the oil every 5k km.

I would get myself into trouble on a bike with this power. I downsized from my tracer 9gt (119hp) because i knew it was only a matter of time before i become a statistic riding that motorcycle. 80/90hp is the limit for me, enough to have fun but not enough to get into real trouble. This bike i would name : trouble.
I have the gsx-s750. About 110hp, but you have to work the rev band to keep it boiling. I think I'll survive - but the issues start when you get it boiling. LOL.
"Character" is a term used by reviewers when they have nothing to say. It doesn't mean nothing, and it sure does not help a buyer with his decision. Empty platitude.

I took delivery a couple of weeks ago and I am very happy. I did ask the dealer to swap in some Michelin Road 6's before delivery though.

Very smooth, plenty of snap, not oodles of GS torque though. I mean, even bikes with GS numbers don't feel like the GS tho
An I4 has its wonderful charms - hit where the twins sign off and they say:"So are we going to really ride then?" But a liter bike has go everywhere.

What lav mic are you using to get such clean audio? My Rode mics go crazy with those speeds and wind turbulence.

Doesn't always have better feel, in my opinion. But the maintenance is easy enough

I hate the tracer non existent front end feel.
S1000 XR alternative. Put the electronics on the GT and that is a nice bike.

Kind of, but there are a few bikes with 150mm of suspension and a sportsbike motor. The Tracer is much closer to the Tiger, IMO
